Description: Physical oceanography data was acquired using a Seabird SBE9plus CTD underwater unit onboard RV METEOR during research cruise M183 between 13th July and 9th August 2022. The ship-based CTD-Rosette-System was additionally equipped with a Seabird SBE43 oxygen sensor. CTD data recording was controlled with SEASAVE software (version 7.26) on a computer linked to the SBE11plus V2 Deck Unit. Ship position was used to determine profiles location. Hydrographic data were processed to 1 sec bin resolution by using the SBE software (version 7.26.6). Pre-deployment data and obvious outliers were removed.

Description: The 24 x 10 L Niskin bottles rosette mounted on the frame of the ship-based CTD System onboard RV METEOR during research cruise M183 was used for the collection of discrete water samples. Samples for Total Alkalinity and Dissolved Inorganic Carbon (TA/DIC) were drawn directly from the Niskin bottles into 250 ml borosilicate glass bottles. Samples for dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and dissolved organic nitrogen (DON) were filtered directly into precombusted 25 ml glass vials. Samples for inorganic nutrients were collected directly into acid washed 60 ml Nalgene bottles. All the analysis were performed at GEOMAR following standard protocols.

Description: A sensor package for measuring and autonomously logging oceanographical parameters was installed on the ROV-Squid during the METEOR research cruise M183. The suite of sensors included an RBR Concerto logger for measurements of pressure, temperature, dissolved O₂ concentration and turbidity, a Pyroscience AquapHOx-LX for measurements of pH and a Trios OPUS nitrate sensor. The duration and frequency of the sampling were defined on every dive in order to have the best sensors performance/battery usage combination. Generally RBR Concerto data were recorded every 10 seconds, pH data every 30 seconds while nitrate data every 5 minutes. Following sensor post-calibration, a maximum pH offset of -0.05 was applied. Nitrate data were processed according to Nehir et al., 2021. While the RBR Concerto logger recorded during the entire dives, data for both the pH and nitrate sensors include bottom time and ROV ascent only.
