Notes:
Treatment of pentacyclo[6.4.0.02,6.05,9.04,12]dodecane-2-ol with concentrated sulphuric acid produced the rearranged hydrocarbon pentacyclo[6.4.0.02,6.03,11.05,9]dodecane as the main product. High-field 1H and 13C NMR techniques were used in the structure elucidation and assignment of the different NMR resonances of these two and related compounds.
