Abstract: A generalization of the notion of intuitionistic multiplicative set (IMS) is given in this paper, which is called interval-valued intuitionistic multiplicative set (IVIMS). The IVIMS uses an unsymmetrical scale (Saaty's 1-9 scale) instead of the ordinary symmetrical scale in an intuitionistic fuzzy set or an interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set. IVIMSs can reflect our intuition more objectively in some special situations. The basic component of an IVIMS is interval-valued intuitionistic multiplicative number (IVIMN). To rank IVIMNs, the comparison laws are developed. Based on the pseudo-multiplication, we explore some interval-valued intuitionistic multiplicative operations and obtain several specific results when some specific forms are assigned. In addition, some distance measures and weighted distance measures between IVIMSs are developed to describe the difference of any two IVIMSs. By analyzing the range of the uncertain degree, a generalized interval-valued intuitionistic multiplicative set is presented, which is a generalization of the notions of IMS and IVIMS. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate our results.

Abstract: As we may have a set of possible values when comparing alternatives (or criteria), the hesitant fuzzy preference relation becomes a suitable and powerful technique to deal with this case. This paper mainly focuses on the multiplicative consistency of the hesitant fuzzy preference relation. First of all, we explore some properties of the hesitant fuzzy preference relation and develop some new aggregation operators. Then we introduce the concepts of multiplicative consistency, perfect multiplicative consistency and acceptable multiplicative consistency for a hesitant fuzzy preference relation, based on which, two algorithms are given to improve the inconsistency level of a hesitant fuzzy preference relation. Furthermore, the consensus of group decision making is studied based on the hesitant fuzzy preference relations. Finally, several illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the practicality of our algorithms.

Abstract: In fuzzy decision-making environments, intuitionistic preference relation is highly useful in depicting uncertainty and vagueness of preference information provided by the decision maker. In the process of decision making with intuitionistic preference relation, the most crucial issue is how to derive the ranking of alternatives from intuitionistic preference relation. In this article, we investigate the ranking methods of alternatives on the basis of intuitionistic preference relation from various angles, which are based on the intuitionistic fuzzy ordered weighted averaging operator, the intuitionistic fuzzy ordered weighted geometric operator, the uncertain averaging operator, the uncertain geometric operator, the uncertain ordered weighted averaging operator, and the uncertain ordered weighted geometric operator, respectively, and study their desirable properties. Moreover, we give a numerical analysis of the developed ranking methods by a practical example, and finally discuss further research directions.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the methods of constructing distance measures for hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets (HFLTSs) and their applications in multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM). We first present some methods to construct distance measures for HFLTSs. Then, we discuss the properties of different distance measures in detail, which are very helpful in comparison of these distance measures for HFLTSs. After that, based upon the distance measures for HFLTSs, a decision-making method is proposed to solve the MCDM problems, in which the assessment values of alternatives over criteria are HFLTSs and the weights of criteria are completely unknown or expressed by HFLTSs. Finally, an example concerning the evaluation of movie quality is provided to demonstrate the practicability of the proposed method, and necessary comparative analyses are conducted to illustrate the effectiveness and advantages of the developed distance measures and the proposed decision-making method.

Abstract: The logistic regression model is one of the most widely used classification models. In some practical situations, few samples and massive uncertain information bring more challenges to the application of the traditional logistic regression. This paper takes advantages of the hesitant fuzzy set (HFS) in depicting uncertain information and develops the logistic regression model under hesitant fuzzy environment. Considering the complexity and uncertainty in the application of this logistic regression, the concept of hesitant fuzzy information flow (HFIF) and the correlation coefficient between HFSs are introduced to determine the main factors. In order to better manage situations with small samples, a new optimized method based on the maximum entropy estimation is also proposed to determine the parameters. Then the Levenberg–Marquardt Algorithm (LMA) under hesitant fuzzy environment is developed to solve the parameter estimation problem with fewer samples and uncertain information in the logistic regression model. A specific implementation process for the optimized logistic regression model based on the maximum entropy estimation under the hesitant fuzzy environment is also provided. Moreover, we apply the proposed model to the prediction problem of Emergency Extreme Air Pollution Event (EEAPE). A comparative analysis and a sensitivity analysis are further conducted to illustrate the advantages of the optimized logistic regression model under hesitant fuzzy environment.

Abstract: Big data starts booming in 2013 and has multiple applications in all walks of life. In such an environment, big data for information technology (BDI) and decision making (BDD) have formed some hot topics in common. This paper reviews the body of BDI and BDD research studies from 1994 to 2020, using bibliometrics analysis. The aim of this paper is to explore the current status, the correlation between BDI and BDD, the future trends and challenges. From time and space dimensions, CiteSpace and VOS viewer are used to obtain the annual trends of documents, the distribution of countries and sources, the citations and the h-index of BDI and BDD. The top three productive countries are the USA, China and the UK. From the perspective of h-index, the USA and the UK are at the forefront of the world. The value of big data is realized through information acquisition, storage, analysis, expression transmission and service sharing technologies, and the decision-making techniques exist throughout the process of big data analysis. “Business” and “Information science library science” are the latest hotspots of BDI. The appliances in the organization, supply chain management, education, and the environment are recent themes of BDD. Big data technology processing capabilities and network security issues are the main challenges in the future. This study contributes to the body of knowledge on BDI and BDD, and hops to help in understanding the evolution of them in relevant fields.

Abstract: Hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set (HFLTS), as a flexible tool to represent people’s uncertain cognition, has attracted lots of scholars’ research interests, and a series of methodologies have been proposed to deal with a variety of decision-making problems. In this paper, we develop a hesitant fuzzy linguistic possibility degree-based linear assignment (HFL-PDLA) method to tackle the multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) problems under hesitant fuzzy linguistic environment. Firstly, we define the possibility degree of hesitant fuzzy linguistic element (HFLE). Additionally, some relevant concepts related to the HFL-PDLA method are proposed, such as the relative difference matrix, the rank contribution matrix, the optimal permutation matrix, etc. Furthermore, the algorithm of the HFL-PDLA method is given to deal with hesitant fuzzy linguistic MCDM problems. Moreover, we apply the HFL-PDLA method to deal with a practical case which is to select the optimal treatment technology for disposing the outspent or old medical apparatuses and instruments in West China Hospital (WCH). Finally, we show the advantages of the HFL-PDLA method by making some comparative analyses with the TOPSIS method, the VIKOR method the PROMETHEE method and the LINMAP method.

Abstract: The uncertain group decision-making (UGDM) methodology has developed rapidly in recent years, which is synchronous with the evolution of fuzzy set (FS) theory and linguistic term set theory. Generally, the UGDM methods can be divided into three categories, i.e., the multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) methods, the preference-based methods and the dynamic decision-making methods. In this paper, we present an overview on UGDM, including the methodology, framework and recent development of the methods. These methods are classified into different types according to their features and calculation processes. Also, we connect the recent decision-making methods with the development of FS theory, linguistic term set theory and their extensions, etc. We can find that the development of UGDM methodology and the evolution of information expressions interactively influence and promote each other’s progress. This paper integrates the recent development and provides a framework containing different aspects of uncertain decision-making methods.

Abstract: In fuzzy environments, some operators have been developed for aggregating intuitionistic fuzzy information which is expressed in pairs of the membership degrees and the non-membership degrees. However, the existing intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation operators cannot consider and reflect the density of intuitionistic fuzzy information distribution. To solve the issue, in this paper, we first develop some intuitionistic fuzzy density-based aggregation operators. Then by combining the developed operators with the existing intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation operators, we put forward some synthesized intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation operators. Furthermore, we utilize the synthesized intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation operators to develop an approach to group decision making based on intuitionistic preference relations, and illustrate our approach with a practical example of the evaluation of new medicines.

Abstract: Intuitionistic fuzzy sets can describe the uncertainty and complexity of the world flexibly, so it has been widely used in multi-attribute decision making. Traditional intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation operators are usually based on the probability measure, namely, they consider that the attributes of objects are independent. But in actual situations, it is difficult to ensure the independence of attributes, so these operators are unsuitable in such situations. Fuzzy measure is able to depict the relationships among the attributes more comprehensively, so it can complement the traditional probability measure in dealing with the multi-attribute decision making problems. In this paper, we first analyze the existing intuitionistic fuzzy operators based on fuzzy measure, then introduce two novel additive intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation operators based on the Shapley value and the Choquet integral, respectively, and show their advantages over other ones.
