Abstract: The important roles of microRNAs (miRNAs) in the pathological process of the cardiovascular system have been recognized. However, identification of miRNAs related to valvular heart disease with atrial fibrillation (AF-VHD) has been difficult and very slow because of complex pathological mechanism of AF-VHD. Analysis of microarray expression profiles provides the possibility to rapid prediction of disease-regulating miRNAs and can lay a theoretical foundation for further experimental studies. A computational method is proposed to predict AF-VHD-specific miRNAs by combining miRNA and gene expression data, which are strongly correlated. Using the proposed method, a 45-miRNA AF-VHD-specific signature is predicted. Compared with other related results, 15 of 45 miRNAs are the same and the rest 30 miRNAs are different. Our analysis shows that 11 of 30 new miRNAs are associated with the diseases inducing AF-VHD and the remaining 19 miRNAs have good combinational discrimination power. Therefore, the AF-VHD signature we have predicted is confirmed to be reliable and specific. In a word, this study proposes an effective computational strategy in prediction of disease-regulating miRNAs and finds some AF-VHD-specific miRNAs, which provides new insight into the further experimental study and molecular mechanism leading to the development of AF-VHD.

Abstract: This paper analyzes the encryption and weaknesses of E. Álvarez cryptography. On the basis of this, a new chaotic cryptography based on ergodicity is presented. The control parameter and the initial condition of the chaotic system are chosen as a secret key. A bit chain is generated by iterating the chaotic map, and the location where a plaintext grouping appears in the chain is found. We then write down the number of iterations of the chaotic map as the ciphertext grouping. Several weaknesses of the E. Álvarez cryptography are avoided in the new scheme, and the security of the new scheme is improved. In the end, the new cryptography is studied experimentally using the Logistic map, where the new cryptography's confusion and diffusion is validated, and its effectiveness is also illuminated.

Abstract: The paper analyses the limitation of Baptista cryptography in partitioning an attractor, and proposes two new attractor-partition methods: uniform-partition algorithm and dynamic-partition algorithm. They are different from the equal-interval-partition algorithm in Baptista cryptography, but dividing the attractor according to the attractor's natural invariant density and plaintext density, respectively. The comparative experiment indicates: the two new methods improve the unbalanced cryptograph distribution and cryptograph length in Baptista cryptography, they are also able to reduce the iteration time in chaotic systems effectively, which has improved decryption time and cryptographies' security.

Abstract: Limitations caused by degeneration of dynamics characteristics may exist in the traditional single chaotic system. The authors propose a method i.e., switch controller chaos and pseudo random bit generator (it is called SCS-PRBG for short), which is based on multiple chaotic systems and switch control. By the theoretic analysis of random key stream and performance of SCS-PRBG, we can see that its digital stream cipher has better randomicity and security. And if using hardware parallel computation, the speed of encryption can be improved sharply. The results of the experiments also present better security of this arithmetic.
