    Abstract: The axial coordination properties of six zinc tetraarylporphyrins with seven different nitrogenous bases were examined in CH 2 Cl 2 for derivatives containing four [Formula: see text],[Formula: see text] -fused butano or benzo groups and the equilibrium constants (log[Formula: see text] determined using spectral titration methods. The examined compounds are represented as butano(YPh) 4 PorZn and benzo(YPh) 4 PorZn, where Por is the porphyrin dianion and Y is a CH 3 , H or Cl substituent on the para-position of each meso-phenyl ring of the macrocycle. The initial four-coordinate butano- and benzoporphyrins will axially bind one nitrogenous base to form five-coordinate derivatives in CH 2 Cl 2 and this leads to a 4–22 nm red-shift of the Soret and Q bands. The log[Formula: see text] values range from 1.98 to 4.69 for butano(YPh) 4 PorZn and from 3.42 to 5.36 for benzo(YPh) 4 PorZn, with the exact value depending upon the meso and [Formula: see text]-substituents of the porphyrin and the conjugate acid dissociation constants (p[Formula: see text] of the nitrogenous base.

    Abstract: CaWO 4 crystals were prepared by hydrothermal method assisting with phenol-formaldehyde polymer. The morphology can be controlled by polymer, and X-ray diffraction patterns results present a scheelite-type tetragonal structure, characteristic infrared active modes for O–W–O in the range from 500 cm[Formula: see text] to 4000 cm[Formula: see text] by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic techniques. Raman results indicate that the crystals possess seven Raman active modes in the range from 100 cm[Formula: see text] to 1000 cm[Formula: see text] . A scanning electron microscopy study reveals that the particles exhibit uniform morphology. Luminescent properties were investigated by photoluminescence measurements, multicolor phosphors were obtained when Ca[Formula: see text] was substituted partly by lanthanide ions.

    Abstract: Two free-base and four metal derivatives of substituted tetraarylporphyrins containing a nitro-substituent on the β-pyrrole position of the macrocycle were synthesized and characterized by UV-vis, FTIR, 1 H NMR and mass spectrometry as well as electrochemistry and spectroelectrochemistry in non-aqueous media. The porphyrins are represented as ( NO 2 TmPP ) M and ( NO 2 TdmPP ) M , where M = 2 H , Fe III Cl or Mn III Cl , m is a CH 3 group on the para-position of the four meso-phenyl rings of the tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) and dm represents two OCH 3 substituents on the meta-positions of each phenyl ring of the TPP macrocycle. UV-visible spectra of the nitro-substituted porphyrins exhibit absorption bands which are red-shifted by 4–11 nm as compared to bands of the same substituted tetraarylporphyrins lacking a nitro substituent. Three or four reductions are observed for each iron and manganese nitroporphyrin, the first of which is metal-centered, leading to formation of an Fe ( II ) or Mn ( II ) complex. Further reduction at the metal center occurs for the iron porphyrins but this reaction proceeds via an Fe ( II ) π anion radical in the case of the two nitro-substituented derivatives. The β-nitro-substituted porphyrins are easier to reduce and harder to oxidize than the corresponding compounds lacking a nitro group. The effect of NO 2 substituent on reduction/oxidation potentials and the site of electron transfer was also discussed.

    Abstract: In this study, the period-[Formula: see text] steady regions of McMullen family M sets are discussed. The calculation methods of the numbers of period-[Formula: see text] steady regions are presented and the center points and boundaries of period-1 are studied by complex dynamical system theory. In addition, the problem about the free critical points is discussed. The experimental results show that the free critical points do not influence the distributions of period-[Formula: see text] steady regions when [Formula: see text] , which is proved theoretically.

    Abstract: In this study, a series of LaMnO 3 –diamond composites with varied LaMnO 3 mass contents supported on micro-diamond have been synthesized using a sol–gel method. The as-prepared composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopy and the Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR). Meanwhile, the photocatalytic performances were also tested by photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflection spectra (UV-Vis DRS) and the degradation of weak acid red C-3GN (RC-3GN). Results show that the peak position of LaMnO 3 is shifted to low angle after the introduction of diamond, and perovskite particles uniformly distributed on the surface of diamond, forming a network structure, which can increase the active sites and the absorption of dye molecules. When the mass ratio of LaMnO 3 and diamond is 1:2 (LMO–Dia-2), the composite shows the most excellent photocatalytic activity. This result offers a sample route to enlarge the range of the application of micro-diamond and provide a new carrier for perovskite photocatalysts.

    Abstract: One hundred and thirty three quake lakes were formed in Wenchuan Earthquake of May 12. There may be several or even a dozen quake lakes in the same drainage basin. During the emergency treatment of quake lakes, due to constraints of resources and time, it is often imperative to select one or a few quake lakes of high priority in the same drainage basin for treatment in order for the entire drainage basin to safely pass the flood season. There are many factors involved in the optimization of emergency treatment project of quake lakes and these factors are usually of different nature. This article proposes to use a multi-level, multi-factor optimization method in decision making of emergency treatment of quake lakes based on the concept and operation properties of fuzzy-consistent matrix. This method is convenient and practical when many qualitative factors are involved and the determination of membership function is difficult. A case study was conducted for the 16 quake lakes on the Mianyuan River by using the proposed method. Three quake lakes selected according to case study results went through emergency treatment before the 2009 flood season, helping the entire Mianyuan River safely pass the 2009 flood season.

    Abstract: Hirsutella sinensis fungus (HSF) is an artificial substitute of the well-known medicine Cordyceps sinensis with similar beneficial effects in humans. We previously found that HSF can regulate immune function and inhibit tumor growth; however, the mechanisms involved in these effects were still unclear. Accordingly, in this study, we investigated the effects of HSF on immune cell subsets in the tumor microenvironment in mice. The results showed that HSF inhibited Lewis lung cancer growth, alleviated abnormalities in routine blood tests, and enhanced tumor-infiltrating T cells, particularly the proportion of effector CD8[Formula: see text] T cells. In addition, HSF also ameliorated the immune-suppressive microenvironment and decreased the proportions of regulatory T cell and myeloid-derived suppressor cell populations. To confirm the effects of HSF on promotion of effector CD8[Formula: see text] T-cell production, we further evaluated changes in postoperative metastasis following treatment with HSF. Indeed, orthotopic lung metastasis was significantly suppressed, and survival times were increased in HSF-treated mice. Taken together, our findings suggested that HSF inhibited Lewis lung cancer by enhancing the population of effective CD8[Formula: see text] T cells.

    Abstract: A light-modified resistance switching (RS) memory device with BaTiO 3 / ZnO structure is fabricated by radio frequency magnetron sputtering technology. The device exhibits stable resistive switching behavior in the dark and under illumination, respectively. In the dark, the device’s high/low resistance ratio ([Formula: see text] / [Formula: see text] is more than 10 4 at 0.1 V read voltage, and the set/reset voltage ([Formula: see text] 〈 0.4 V, [Formula: see text] 〉 −0.2 V) is low. The RS of the device can be modulated by white light. When the device is irradiated by white light with intensity of 250 uw/cm 2 , the high/low resistance ratio is modulated from 10 4 to 10 2 , and the set/reset voltage ([Formula: see text] 〈 0.3 V, [Formula: see text] 〉 −0.2 V) is still low.

    Abstract: In this study, we focus on exploring the propagation characteristics of particle swarms in social networks and analyze the diffusion process of viruses among populations based on system dynamics. The article mainly discusses three propagation influence mechanisms, including individual attributes, group attributes, and particle swarm attributes, and delves into the modeling of diffusion processes based on network structures. Firstly, we adopt the main roads in the transportation network (hub nodes) as the initial network backbone. On this basis, by introducing branch networks with small-world characteristics and scale-free characteristics, we construct a transportation network that integrates multiple properties. Using this network, we conducted a detailed simulation and analysis of the COVID-19 transmission process and compared and verified it with the infection dynamic data of COVID-19 in Shanghai from March to September 2022. The verification results reveal that our proposed model can significantly improve prediction accuracy. Compared with other existing dynamic models, our model demonstrates excellent performance, possessing high practical application value. This study provides robust theoretical support for the propagation characteristics of particle swarms in social networks and lays the foundation for further research and application in related fields.

    Abstract: Scheelite (CaWO 4 )-type microphosphors were synthesized by the precipitation method assisted with cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB). All compounds crystallized in the tetragonal structure with space group [Formula: see text] (No. 88). FE-SEM micrographs illustrate the spherical-like morphologies and rough surface. PL spectra indicate the broad emission peak maximum at 613 nm under UV excitation. Luminescence decay curves monitored by [Formula: see text] transition ([Formula: see text] nm) of Eu[Formula: see text] in doped CaWO 4 are presented, the curves exhibit a single-exponential feature and the lifetime for doped CaWO 4 is 0.61 ms.
