Abstract: The offset linear canonical transform (OLCT) has proven to be a novel and effective method in signal processing and optics. Many important properties and results of the OLCT have been well studied and published. In this work, the sampling theorem of the OLCT bandlimited signals based on reproducing kernel Hilbert space has been proposed. First, we show that the bandlimited signals in the OLCT domain form a reproducing kernel Hilbert space. Then, an orthogonal basis for the OLCT bandlimited signals has been obtained based on the reproducing kernel Hilbert space. By using the orthogonal basis, the uniform sampling theory for bandlimited signals associated with the OLCT has been obtained. Furthermore, the nonuniform sampling of the OLCT bandlimited signals also has been attained. Finally, the simulations are provided to prove the usefulness and correctness of the derived results.

Abstract: A systematic design method for 3-D grid multiscroll chaotic attractors by using staircase nonlinear functions (SNFs) is proposed in this paper. Equations of parameters for 3-D grid multiscroll chaotic attractors are derived in the consideration of the dynamic range for the active device and the number of multiscroll chaotic attractors. 5 × 4 and 4 × 3 of 3-D grid multiscroll chaotic attractors are generated by this method. A chaotic circuit is designed only using current feedback operational amplifiers (CFOAs). The circuit consists of three integrators and two nonlinear circuits. The parameters of the circuit are calculated by the parameters of 3-D grid multiscroll chaotic attractors. The circuit can generate 3-D grid multiscroll chaotic attractors. The central frequency of the circuit is higher with fewer active devices and simpler circuit construction for the good frequency characteristic and port characteristic of the CFOA. Numerical simulation results and the circuit simulation results show that the method is feasible and the designed circuit is correct.

Abstract: A model of time-delay recurrently coupled spatially segregated neural oscillators is proposed. Each of the oscillators describes the dynamics of average activities of excitatory and inhibitory populations of neurons. Bifurcation analysis shows the richness of the dynamical behaviors in a biophysically plausible parameter region. We find oscillatory multi-stability, hysteresis, and stability switches of the rest state provoked by the time delay as well as the strength of the connections between the oscillators. Then we derive the equation describing the flow on the center manifold that enables us to determine the bifurcation direction and stability of bifurcated periodic solutions and equilibria. We also give some numerical simulations to support our main results.

Abstract: This paper presents a detailed analysis on the dynamics of a ring network with short-cut. We first investigate the absolute synchronization on the basis of Lyapunov stability approach, and then discuss the linear stability of the trivial solution by analyzing the distribution of zeros of the characteristic equation. Based on the equivariant branching lemma, we not only obtain the existence of primary steady state bifurcation but also analyze the patterns and stability of the bifurcated nontrivial equilibria. Moreover, by means of the equivariant Hopf bifurcation theorem, we not only investigate the effect of connection strength on the spatio-temporal patterns of periodic solutions emanating from the trivial equilibrium, but also derive the formula to determine the direction and stability of Hopf bifurcation. In particular, we further consider the secondary bifurcation of the nontrivial equilibria. These studies show that short-cut may be used as a simple but efficient switch to control the dynamics of a system.

Abstract: The effect of grain boundary on the characteristics of poly- Si metal–insulator–semiconductor photodetector is investigated utilizing two-dimensional device simulator. In the investigation, the trap states in grain boundary are composed of two types: tail states and deep-level states, both of which consist of acceptor-like trap and donor-like trap. The simulation results show that the photocurrent of photodetector decreases considerably in the case of tail states above 5 ×19 cm -3 , but less susceptible to deep-level states. Furthermore, it is found that the spectral responsivities of the photodetector decrease when the energy level of acceptor-like traps shifts towards the midgap, but keep unchanged for the case of donor-like traps.
