    Abstract: Two-dimensional negative donor ion in magnetic fields are investigated. Using a variational method, we calculated the binding energies of D - center for the spin-triplet states of L = -2 and L = -3 in this structure. The threshold values of the magnetic field which turn unbound state into bound state were obtained.

    Abstract: Copper catalysts prepared using two kinds of supports (BaTiO 3 and Fe 2 O 3 @BaTiO[Formula: see text] have been tested for soot combustion. Perovskite-type oxide BaTiO 3 shows excellent properties as support but has small specific surface area. Fe 2 O 3 @BaTiO 3 core/shell microspheres, as improved support of BaTiO 3 support, were fabricated by a hydrothermal-annealing approach. Fe 2 O 3 @BaTiO 3 support has large specific surface area, which optimizes the contact condition of the gas-soot-catalyst three-phase reaction. Due to the Cu-Fe 2 O 3 @BaTiO 3 interaction, the redox properties of copper are improved. Soot combustion is tested under O 2 gas flow and NO x /O 2 gas flow, and Fe 2 O 3 @BaTiO 3 supported copper catalyst (Cu/Fe 2 O 3 @BaTiO[Formula: see text] all shows higher catalytic activity and CO 2 selectivity than BaTiO 3 supported copper catalyst (Cu/BaTiO[Formula: see text].

    Abstract: Negative donor ion on the hetero-interface in magnetic fields are investigated. Using a variational method, we have calculated the binding energies of D - center for the spin-triplet state of L=-1 in this structure. Moreover, the effect of electron-interface phonon coupling on the energy of a donor located in a polar-crystal hetero-interface is found. Numerical results are produced for heterostructures of some II–VI crystals.

    Abstract: This paper considers empirical likelihood inference for a high-dimensional partially functional linear model. An empirical log-likelihood ratio statistic is constructed for the regression coefficients of non-functional predictors and proved to be asymptotically normally distributed under some regularity conditions. Moreover, maximum empirical likelihood estimators of the regression coefficients of non-functional predictors are proposed and their asymptotic properties are obtained. Simulation studies are conducted to demonstrate the performance of the proposed procedure and a real data set is analyzed for illustration.

    Abstract: The properties of long wavelength optical phonons in mixed crystals AB 1-x C x is discussed by a model similar to Modified Random Element Isodisplacement (MREI). Using this method we investigate the frequencies, the dielectric functions, and the reflectivity of several mixed crystals. It is found that this model can be applied to the one-mode behavior, the two-mode behavior, and that of the third category. So the model provides a possible way to understand the optical character of the ternary mixed crystal. Based on it, we can discuss other problems similar to electron–phonon interaction and so on.
