Abstract: An anisotropic hyperelastic constitutive model with tension–shear coupling was developed for woven composite reinforcements based on fiber reinforced continuum mechanics theory. The strain energy of the model was additively decomposed into two parts nominally representing the fiber stretches and fiber–fiber interaction considering shear–tension coupling, respectively. Experimental data were used to identify material parameters orderly and simply in the constitutive model for a specific balanced plain woven carbon fabric. The developed model was validated by comparing numerical results with picture-frame shear tests under different pre-stretch ratios, and was then applied to the simulation of a hemispherical stamping experiment, demonstrating that the developed constitutive model is highly suitable to characterize the nonlinear and anisotropic mechanical behaviors of woven composite reinforcements under large deformation. The proposed model establishes a theoretical foundation for more accurate forming simulation and processing optimization of woven fabric composites.

Abstract: Three types of ternary low-platinum nanocatalysts, alloy PdPtIr/C, core–shell PdPt@PtIr/C and Pd@PtIr/C, have been prepared, and their catalytic behaviors toward methanol oxidation reaction (MOR)/oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) are comparatively investigated via cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry analysis in an acidic medium. Through a two-step colloidal technique, the synthesized core–shell structured catalyst PtPd@PtIr/C with alloy core and alloy shell show the best catalytic activity toward MOR and the best poisoning tolerance. The alloy PdPtIr/C catalyst prepared via a one-step colloidal technique exhibits the best performance toward ORR among the three catalysts. All the three catalysts are characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and other characterization techniques.

Abstract: To study the vortex-induced force (VIF) model of a steel box girder with projecting slab, a cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 160 m was taken as the research object in this study. First, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) numerical simulation method was used to calculate the amplitude characteristics of vortex-induced vibration (VIV) of the steel box girder with projecting slab, and the calculated results were compared with those of wind tunnel tests. Then, the time–history of VIF of the bridge girder was extracted based on the validated numerical simulation results, and a new mathematical model of VIF for the steel box girder with projecting slab was established according to the residual values between the reconstructed and target values. On such a basis, the steady VIV amplitude expression of the bridge girder was deduced according to the principle of the work done by the damping terms in the VIF model. Finally, the performance function of the maximum VIV amplitude was established with six random variables. Furthermore, the failure probability of VIV was calculated by the maximum entropy principle combined with the multiplicative dimensional reduction method, and the sensitivity of each random variable was analyzed as well. The results show that the lock-in region, VIV amplitudes and vibration frequency of the bridge girder calculated from the numerical simulations agree well with those from the wind tunnel tests, and the maximum amplitude occurs at the oncoming wind speed of 7.2 m/s. In addition to the most important fundamental-frequency component, there also exist double- and triple-frequency components in the time–history of VIF of the bridge girder, which implies the VIF exhibits certain nonlinear characteristics. According to the proposed expression of the steady VIV amplitude of the bridge girder, the steady amplitude decreases as the absolute value of parameter [Formula: see text] increases, but it increases with the increase of the parameter [Formula: see text]. The failure probability of VIV of the bridge girder is calculated to be 0.9616 based on the performance function with six random variables. Besides, it is found that the damping ratio [Formula: see text] has great effects on the reliability of VIV, while the vertical bending frequency [Formula: see text] exerts less effects.

Abstract: Rosmarinic Acid (RA), a caffeic acid ester, has been shown to exert anti-inflammation, anti-oxidant and antiallergic effects. Our study aimed to investigate the effect of RA in sodium taurocholate ( NaTC )-induced acute pancreatitis, both in vivo and in vitro. In vivo, RA (50 mg/kg) was administered intraperitoneally 2 h before sodium taurocholate injection. Rats were sacrificed 12 h, 24 h or 48 h after sodium taurocholate injection. Pretreatment with RA significantly ameliorated pancreas histopathological changes, decreased amylase and lipase activities in serum, lowered myeloperoxidase activity in the pancreas, reduced systematic and pancreatic interleukin-1 β (IL-1β), IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) levels, and inhibited NF-κB translocation in pancreas. In vitro, pretreating the fresh rat pancreatic acinar cells with 80 μ mol/L RA 2 h before 3750 nmol/L sodium taurocholate or 10 ng/L TNF-α administration significantly attenuated the reduction of isolated pancreatic acinar cell viability and inhibited the nuclear activation and translocation of NF-κB. Based on our findings, RA appears to attenuate damage in sodium taurocholate-induced acute pancreatitis and reduce the release of inflammatory cytokines by inhibiting the activation of NF-κB. These findings might provide a basis for investigating the therapeutic role of RA in managing acute pancreatits.

Abstract: Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is an adaptive and data-driven approach for analyzing multicomponent nonlinear and non-stationary signals. The mode-mixing problem is one of the most important topics for the improvement of the EMD algorithm. In this paper, we study the reasons of the mode mixing phenomenon. And then, we propose a new method to resolve this problem relying on the assumption that each IMF should be locally orthogonal to the others. We experiment on several signals, including simulated and real-life signals, to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method to resolve the mode mixing problem.

Abstract: With the development of cryogenic refrigeration and superconductive technology, capillary porosity wick used in spacecrafts feature an excellent heat transfer conduction capacity, high surface area to volume ratio, uniform heat and mass transfer and self-driven force of capillary. Low temperature capillary panel have a great application potential. In this paper, a new ceiling cooling panel of capillary suction core (CCPCSC) which was confected by polypropylene plastic and porous media of potassium citrate–gypsum is put forward. The structure of CCPCSC was introduced and the cooling performance was tested to compare it with SRHTP. The results show that the performance of CCPCSC is much influenced by different proportions of materials. However, comparing to regular SRHTP, the cooling capacity of the CCPCSC is improved by 36.6%–57.7% under the same condition. The results of this paper provide a theoretical basis for the application of porous media in low temperature environments.

Abstract: Data in a high-dimensional data space may reside in a low-dimensional manifold embedded within the high-dimensional space. Manifold learning discovers intrinsic manifold data structures to facilitate dimensionality reductions. We propose a novel manifold learning technique called fast [Formula: see text] selection for locally linear embedding or FSLLE, which judiciously chooses an appropriate number (i.e., parameter [Formula: see text] ) of neighboring points where the local geometric properties are maintained by the locally linear embedding (LLE) criterion. To measure the spatial distribution of a group of neighboring points, FSLLE relies on relative variance and mean difference to form a spatial correlation index characterizing the neighbors’ data distribution. The goal of FSLLE is to quickly identify the optimal value of parameter [Formula: see text], which aims at minimizing the spatial correlation index. FSLLE optimizes parameter [Formula: see text] by making use of the spatial correlation index to discover intrinsic structures of a data point’s neighbors. After implementing FSLLE, we conduct extensive experiments to validate the correctness and evaluate the performance of FSLLE. Our experimental results show that FSLLE outperforms the existing solutions (i.e., LLE and ISOMAP) in manifold learning and dimension reduction. We apply FSLLE to face recognition in which FSLLE achieves higher accuracy than the state-of-the-art face recognition algorithms. FSLLE is superior to the face recognition algorithms, because FSLLE makes a good tradeoff between classification precision and performance.

Abstract: Thermal expansion coefficients of YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7−x with the tetragonal and orthorhombic structural phases were measured by the method of differential parallel-plate capacitance. There exist anomalies near 205 K for orthorhombic phase and between 92–130K for tetragonal phase, respectively. We suggest that the former may be related to the lattice instability, indicating that there is a strong electron-phonon interaction; the latter may be result from the structural phase transition which damages the high T c superconductivity. In the meantime, a small jump of the thermal expansion coefficient at T c was observed in the orthorhombic phase and from this the pressure effect was estimated.

Abstract: Mixture of multiple language forms in spoken Chinese is a common but unfavorable issue.. It increases the difficulty of intent understanding and leads to inconvenience for information communication. Existing studies on intent recognition mainly focus on single language form or parallel multilingual language while paying little attention to spoken texts including multiple language forms. In considering that it is hard to capture the semantics of an expression with multiple language forms, it is important to study the problem. To solve this issue, a text representation model for the spoken Chinese expression mixed with English and Chinese Pinyin is proposed. And the feature matrix is built to mine the composition information of English and Pinyin. Besides, the model can efficiently distinguish English from Chinese Pinyin even though both fragments are composed of English letters. Meanwhile, it can effectively process the problem of hidden text information since the problem has been transformed into the Chinese translation task of English and Pinyin. In addition, to verify the performance of the model, the texts processed by this model are used as the input of the classifier. extensive experiments on a large online logistics manual customer service corpus show that this text representation model is correct and effective. It can not only eliminate the obstacles of the mixing of multiple language forms but also bring better results for intent understanding.
