Abstract: Globally, over dosage of antibiotics has substantial impact on both human health and environment. Spread of antibiotics usage led to the virulent multidrug resistant pathogen emergence which was mostly contributed by Quorum Sensing (QS), a network phenomenon where bacteria communicate. It plays as an effective strategy ultimately resulting in antibiotic resistance, biofilm formation, bioluminescence, virulence etc. Biofilm formed by bacteria is rigid, selfdefensive, complicated which makes it more infectious in the living host. It suggests a promising strategy to break this strong intracellular communication i.e. quenching quorum sensing or simply Quorum Quenching (QQ). This review projects a brief outline on how bacteria communicate, molecules involved in this phenomenon, what makes a biofilm intact, the QS systems involved and Quorum quenching mechanism.
