    Kurzfassung: Pectin is identified as an effective delivery material due to its excellent gel‐forming ability, low immunogenic properties, biocompatibility, and biodegradability. These excellent properties depend on the preparation method of pectin. In the study, four pectin fractions (named: CAHP30, CAHP40, CAHP50, and CAHP60, respectively) were obtained by different ethanol precipitations (30%, 40%, 50%, and 60%). Physicochemical properties, antioxidant activity, and emulsifying ability of HP were investigated and analyzed. Results showed that the surface structure of pectin was changed by ethanol fractional precipitation, and four fractions were low methoxy pectin. They had different monosaccharide compositions, but all rich in GalA. The Mw/Mn of CAHP30, CAHP40, CAHP50, and CAHP60 were 3.29, 2.57, 2.66, and 2.77, respectively. CAHP30 and CAHP60 had excellent emulsifying ability; moreover, CAHP60 was endowed with additional lipid antioxidant capacity and had the best thermal stability. E‐CAHP40 exhibited a property between the entangled network structure. Overall, pectin with specific properties could be obtained by different ethanol concentrations.

    Kurzfassung: In this article, to increase the extraction efficiency and quality of single‐cell oil (SCO) from Mortierella isabellina NTG 1–121 (MIN) in the SCO extraction, ultrasound in combination with microwave was applied. The best extraction conditions (microwave power 400 W; microwave time 3.7 min; ultrasonic time 40.5 min; ultrasonic power 500 W; and the material to solvent ratio 1:12.3 [w/v]) were achieved at room temperature of 25 ±5 °C, using response surface methodology (RSM). Under these conditions, the extraction yield of SCO was up to 92.24% and the SCO yield was 178.13 ±0.17 mg g −1 (wet cell). Compared with ultrasound‐assisted extraction (UAE) and acid‐heating extraction (AHE), the quality and yield of SCO obtained using the ultrasonic‐assisted/microwave‐assisted extraction (UMAE) were improved. The present study suggests that UMAE can be an alternative for the extraction of SCO from MIN. The oil is rich in oleic acid (ca. 43.98%), linoleic acid (ca. 11.56%), and gamma linolenic acid (ca. 11.38%), which is comparable to the fatty‐acid composition of several edible oils.

    Kurzfassung: Little is known about the changes in allergen sensitization in China secondary to the environmental variations over the past decade. We aimed at investigating the variations in sensitization among asthma and/or rhinitis patients in China between 2008 and 2018. Methods This study analyzed cross‐sectional data from national surveys conducted in China in 2008 and 2018. After finishing the questionnaire, participants underwent serum specific IgE measurements. A total of 2322 and 2798 patients were enrolled in 2008 and 2018, respectively. The significance of differences in sensitization rates among four regions of China were assessed. Correlation analysis was used to identify the associations of sensitization with climate change and planting of Artemisia desertorum between the two surveys. Results Compared with 2008, the general sensitization rate to mites significantly increased in 2018, which ranked highest among all tested allergens. Sensitization to pollens, especially Artemisia vulgaris , showed the greatest increase in the north. The annual mean temperature, rainfall and relative humidity in all four regions, and the Artemisia desertorum coverage in the northeastern area, increased significantly in 2018 as compared with 2008. From 2008 to 2018, an increase in Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus sensitization was significantly associated with an increase in relative humidity ( r  = 0.54, p  = 0.037). The increase in A. vulgaris sensitization was significantly associated with the increase in the A. desertorum planting area ( r  = 0.67, p  = 0.006) and with a decrease in rainfall ( r  = −0.59, p  = 0.021). Conclusions House dust mites remain the most important allergen in Chinese individuals with asthma and/or rhinitis. Pollen sensitization dramatically increased in northern China. Increases in sensitization to dust mites and Artemisia were related to the increases in humidity and planting area of A. desertorum .
