    Abstract: The in‐depth mechanism on the simultaneous activation of O 2 and surface lattice O 2− on one active metallic site has not been elucidated yet. Herein, we report a strategy for the construction of abundant oxygen activation sites by rational design of Cu 1 /TiO 2 single atom catalysts (SACs). The charge transfer between isolated Cu and TiO 2 support generates abundant Cu I and 2‐coordinated O lat sites in Cu 1 −O−Ti hybridization structure, which facilitates the chemisorption and activation of O 2 molecules. Simultaneously, the Cu 1 −O−Ti induced TiO 2 lattice distortion activate the adjacent surface lattice O 2− , achieving the dual activation of O 2 and surface lattice O 2− . The Cu 1 −O−Ti active site switches the CO oxidation mechanism from Eley‐Rideal (80 °C) to Mars–van Krevelen route (200 °C) with the increase of reaction temperature. The dual activation of O 2 and surface lattice O 2− can by modulating the electron properties of SACs can boost the heterogeneous catalytic oxidation activity.

    Abstract: The KiSS‐1 gene has been reported to serve as a metastasis suppressor gene in various human malignancies. However, no information is available regarding the role of the KiSS‐1 gene or its gene product kisspeptin in nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Study Design Retrospective study. Methods Kisspeptin and its receptor AXOR12 expression were assessed using immunohistochemistry in paraffin‐embedded tumor tissues from 140 patients diagnosed with nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Immunoreactivity was quantified, and its relationships with patients' clinical parameters and survival were analyzed. Results Using a 50% cutoff level, the immunoreactivities of kisspeptin and AXOR12 were divided into low and high expression. The expression levels of kisspeptin and AXOR12 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma were well correlated with each other (r s  = 19.31 , P   〈  0.01). Low expression of kisspeptin in nasopharyngeal carcinoma was correlated with clinical stage ( P  = 0.01), N stage ( P  = 0.03), and metastasis ( P  = 0.02). Patients with low kisspeptin expression had poorer distant metastasis‐free survival than those with high kisspeptin expression (75.32% vs. 83.79%, P  = 0.02). Although neither kisspeptin nor AXOR12 were found to be prognostic factors for overall survival, kisspeptin was determined to be an independent prognostic factor for distant metastasis‐free survival ( P  = 0.03) using multivariate analysis. Conclusion In this study, we report for the first time that low kisspeptin expression in nasopharyngeal carcinoma is correlated with poor clinical outcome; kisspeptin could serve as an independent prognostic marker for metastasis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma.     Abstract: Organic ferroelectrics are flexible, lightweight, and bio‐friendly, promising for bio‐harmonized electronic devices, while their ferroelectric lithography remains relatively unexplored. Here, by introducing homochirality and ZE photoisomerization, we obtained a pair of organic enantiomorphic ferroelectrics, di(benzylamino)‐substituted derivatives of muconic acids, the first ferroelectrics in the muconic family. Their ferroelectric and chiral features were confirmed by the polarization–electric field hysteresis loops and circular dichroism spectra, respectively. Piezoresponse force microscopy measurements demonstrate that the desired domain structure can be precisely achieved by applying a local electric field on a predefined pattern in their thin films. Moreover, thermogravimetric analyses reveal that their ferroelectricity can persist up to above 550 K. The precise pattern lithography and excellent thermal stability make them competitive candidates for ferroelectric lithography.

    Abstract: Organic ferroelectrics, as a type of crystalline compound, are generally solution processing. However, for most crystalline compounds, the changing of solvent would not influence the crystalline phase, let alone their physical performance. Here, the solvent selective effect occurs in the iodinated adamantanone ferroelectrics. By changing the solvent with different polarities, the ferroelectric crystals can be induced in two different phases, which is unprecedented to the knowledge. More strikingly, this solvent‐induced transformation could realize the physical performance optimization in the orthorhombic phase ( orth ‐I‐OA, obtained from ethanol) with a stronger second harmonic generation (SHG) response, greater piezoelectric coefficient d 33 of 5 pC N −1 , and larger spontaneous polarization ( P s ) of 3.43 µC cm −2 than those of monoclinic one ( mono ‐I‐OA, obtained from ethyl acetate). Such an intriguing phenomenon might be closely related to solvent polarity. Based on the quantitative and qualitative analyses, the similar interaction energies of these two phases suggest that their transformation could be easily realized via changing the solvent. This work provides new insights into the chemical design and performance optimization of organic ferroelectrics.

    Abstract: Contemporary evidence suggests that climate change and other co‐occurring large‐scale environmental changes, such as eutrophication, will have a considerable impact on aquatic communities. However, the interactions of these environmental changes on trophic interactions among zooplankton remain largely unknown. Here we present results of a mesocosm experiment examining how a couple of zooplankton predator and prey taxa with different life‐history strategies respond to the combined effect of an increase in temperature (4.5°C) and in eutrophication (phosphorus addition), during the crucial recruiting and growing season. We show that the addition of phosphorus alone significantly weakened the top‐down effects by the cyclopoid copepod predators on their rotifer prey. In contrast, warming strengthened the top‐down effects from the predator, leading to a reduction in the abundance of the rotifer prey. These effects of warming were enhanced by phosphorus addition. Together, our results demonstrate that warming made plankton prey organisms more susceptible to top‐down effects from predators, but reduced their sensitivity to nutrient enrichment. In terms of the phenological effects, warming advanced the termination of diapause for both rotifers and cyclopoid copepods by about 2 weeks, but these temporal shifts, akin for both groups, resulted in no apparent trophic mismatch. Hence, from a future perspective, cyclopoid copepods are likely to benefit more from the combination of nutrient enrichment and climate warming to the detriment of their rotifer prey.

    Abstract: 气候变化和富营养化等多重胁迫是湖泊水生植物衰退的重要驱动因子。水生植物衰退会导致湖泊由清水态向浊水态转变, 进而削减生态系统功能和服务。底栖鱼类可以通过扰动和营养级联效应增加水体浊度, 促进藻类 (浮游植物和附着藻) 的生长, 或者直接牧食水生植物, 从而抑制水生植物生长。底栖鱼类丰度通常随着富营养化的加剧而增加。但气候变暖是否会加剧底栖鱼类对水生植物的影响, 进而导致稳态转换的研究仍比较匮乏。 本研究通过二十四个中宇宙系统模拟气候变暖 (水温+4.5°C) 和有无底栖鱼类, 探讨二者是如何单独及共同影响不同生活型水生植物 (早春沉水植物菹草和夏季浮叶植物菱) 。实验过程中同步监测了的浮游植物、附着藻、水体浊度以及水生植物的丰度变化。 实验结果表明气候变暖提前了菹草的生活周期 (17天) 。鲤鱼抑制了菹草的生长, 但是促进了菱的生长, 增加了水体浊度并促进了浮游植物和附着藻的生长, 导致生态系统转变为了以浮叶植物为主的稳态系统。气候变暖加剧了鲤鱼对沉水植物的影响, 而且抑制了浮叶植物的生长, 导致水体浊度进一步升高。 本研究显示气候变暖可能导致浅水湖泊生态系统由以水生植物为主的清水态转变为浊水态, 并不是由于变暖直接影响水生植物, 而是通过底栖鱼类间接产生。随着气候变化的加剧, 未来的湖泊管理, 除了要继续削减营养盐输入, 还应当通过生物调控 (削减底栖鱼类和增加肉食性鱼类) 控制底栖鱼类的数量。

    Abstract: This study aims to evaluate combined effects of MESSAGE communication strategy and group reminiscence therapy (GRT) on elders with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in long‐term care facilities in Changchun, China. Methods This study is a nonrandomized controlled trial. Subjects included 60 elders with MCI. Participants were divided into intervention (MESSAGE communication strategy combined with GRT) and control groups (without any intervention). Primary outcomes comprised cognitive function and quality of life of elderly people, as measured by the Beijing version of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment and the Chinese (mainland) version of Short‐Form 36 Health Survey assessment. Results We observed significant changes in cognitive function with mean difference of 1.962 after 12 weeks ( P  = .000; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.341, 2.582), delayed memory dimension of 1.115 ( P  = .003; 95% CI = 0.417, 1.813). The intervention group exhibited the following improvements: general health of 14.731 ( P  = .000; 95% CI = 8.511, 20.951), mental health of 21.038 ( P  = .000; 95% CI = 17.301, 24.776), role‐emotional of 26.925 ( P  = .003; 95% CI = 10.317, 45.533), and vitality of 14.231 ( P  = .000; 95% CI = 10.084, 18.377). Conclusions Using a sample of Chinese elderly people with MCI and residing in long‐term care facilities, we concluded that application of MESSAGE communication strategy combined with GRT resulted in improved cognitive function and quality of life.
