Abstract: Introduction: In most patients, metastatic breast cancer (MBC) is incurable. Consequently, the goal in this setting is life prolongation and quality of life improvement, although possible long-term effects of anticancer treatment need to be considered. Bone is the most common site of metastasis in breast cancer and its complex management includes minimizing the risk of skeletal-related events (SRE), maximizing pain control, stabilizing or even restoring function, preventing spinal cord compression, hypercalcemia of malignancy and fractures and reducing the need for radiotherapy and orthopedic surgery. Aim: The present paper aims to compare the efficacy and safety of zoledronic acid (and other bisphosphonates) with denosumab in the management of bone metastases in breast cancer patients. Materials and methods: In this article, required information was collected through literature review and keyword query using the PRISMA 2020 guideline. Conclusions: In the metastatic setting, it appears that denosumab is indeed superior to zoledronic acid in delaying and preventing skeletal related events, except for spinal cord compression and risk of surgery, and equally efficient in treatment of already present bone pain and hypercalcemia of malignancy, with similar adverse effects, overall survival and disease progression.

Abstract: Introduction: Breast cancer continues to be the most frequent malignancy in women worldwide. Considerable advances in oncology over the years have led to decreased mortality in early stage (EBC) and locally advanced (ABC) breast cancer, but this has raised concerns about possible long-term effects of anticancer treatment nonetheless. Purpose: The present paper aims to describe the efficacy and safety of osteoclast inhibitors, both as antiresorptive agents, reducing osteoporosis and fracture risk, and as adjuvant anticancer agents, potentially improving disease-related outcomes in patients with early stage and locally advanced breast cancer. Materials and methods: In this article, literature sources were selected and evaluated using the PRISMA 2020 guideline. Conclusions: Bisphosphonates are recommended for early stage and advanced breast cancer patients, either premenopausal or postmenopausal, with osteoporosis. Denosumab may also be used for postmenopausal women. Bisphosphonates also showed a statistically significant benefit for overall survival in postmenopausal women only. However, denosumab is not presently used for indications other than prevention or treatment of osteoporosis.

Abstract: In the absence of globally coherent specifications and standards, digitalization would never have spread across the world in such a huge extent as it did. The availability of digital technologies has significantly increased in the last decade, shifting the focus of policy-makers from on the diffusion of these technologies to their usage by governments, companies and also individuals. Actually, digital technologies and internet became the main forces for transforming the modern world and its economy. Activating within a turbulent environment, Romania faced many challenges in the last three years, but it managed to perform better from period to period. Relative to the past performance, Romania registers a higher rate of digitalization, benefiting from coverage of rapid broadband connections, mostly in urban areas. This made Romania having the second highest share of subscriptions within the EU in 2016. Romania has developed increasingly fast over the last years and reached a position closer to the EU average, which translates into a positive evolution. While positive, the obtained results are not enough to compensate the country’s digital skills deficit.

Abstract: The aim of the paper is to empirically assess if immigrations is a potential predictor of life satisfaction in European countries, considering also other socio-economic determinants. For this purpose, we are using data from the European Quality of Life Survey 2016 implemented by Eurofound. Our results show that immigration, measured here by migrants born in another country, has a net positive impact on subjective well-being, and strictly in this context, migration does not prove to be a threat on well-being. Also, the results suggest that immigration leads to well-being in different ways, more precisely it seems to support a better quality of life for the more privileged and not so much for the less privileged. The statistical and econometrical evaluation of the conection between life satisfaction and other determinants, grouped in categories such as demographical, socio-professional, economical highlights a series of general and specific influences. Subjective well-being, representing eudaimonic well-being, is positively associated with an improvement in the areas of life satisfaction, especially with the standard of living and family life. We also identified positive influence on life satisfaction, in relation to aspects such as the freedom to decide how to live, the efforts made to have a better life or individuals’ own optimism. A very important aspect is a good health, a reduced risk of psychological depression and chronic physical and mental problems.
