Abstract: Education quality assurance and accreditation is a vital quality management tool that helps higher education institutions, government agencies and the society to monitor the quality of higher education. In the organization of the quality assurance and accreditation activities in Vietnamese higher education institutions, the unification of views to measure the levels of quality assurance of the educational institutions in order to make appropriate judgements is a matter that receives particular concerns from not only higher education institutions, but accreditation agencies as well. This article discusses the toolkit for measuring the quality assurance level of higher education institutions, the process of developing and detailing the toolkit for its usage in the self-assessment and external assessment process in compliance with the set of quality assessment standards for higher education institutions issued by the Ministry of Education and Training. Besides, the authors also propose solutions for the implementation of the toolkit in quality assurance practices within higher education institutions and supporting assessors, accreditation bodies and government agencies for quality evaluation, monitoring and management.

Abstract: This study investigated the geological properties of the uranium ore found in Pa Lua - Pa Rong area for potential industrial exploitation. A combination of field measurements, modeling and several mathematical approaches were employed to characterize the geological properties of the uranium ore. We found: i) The thickness of the ore bodies ranges from thin to medium, exhibiting varying degrees of instability (Vm = 83.8÷102.8%). The average U3O8 content indicates that the ore bodies belong to the poor ore type, with an unevenly distribution (Vc = 57.9÷100.9%); ii) The morphology and structure of the ore bodies are highly complex, exhibiting irregular variations. The thickness of the ore bodies shows a positive correlation with the uranium content in each body (R = 0.6-0.7); iii) The variograms of the U3O8 concentration and the thickness in various directions exhibit a spherical pattern, indicating an autogenous effect. The most significant variation in uranium content aligns with the dip direction (50°±12.5°), while the least variation aligns with the strike of the ore body (140°±12.5°). The variations in ore body thickness are more straightforward and consistent with those of the uranium content. In summary, these findings provide valuable insights into the characteristics of uranium ore in Pa Lua – Pa Rong area. The results contribute to a better understanding of the geological processes and can inform some effective exploration strategies for uranium resources in this region.

Abstract: Berberine is a quaternary benzylisoquinoline alkaloid that has been used for the local treatment of gastrointestinal tract diseases. Recently, several pharmacological effects of berberine have been reported, which include anti-hypertension, antitumor, anti-hypercholesterolemia, and neuroprotective effects. However, berberine has exhibited poor aqueous solubility and low oral bioavailability. To overcome these limitations, this study aims to develop and investigate nano berberine. Nano berberine fabricated by ball milling method is a simple process and easily applied in the production scale. The characterization of nano berberine was evaluated, including appearance, particle size, potential zeta, dissolution in vitro in a phosphate buffer media (pH 6.8), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis, fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). Results from this study showed that spray-dried nano berberine powder was almost uniform in size, particle size average of 570.7 nm, and potential zeta of -28.6 mV. The dissolution in vitro study revealed that nano berberine was about 2 times more soluble than raw berberine for 60 minutes. No incompatibility between drug and excipients can be observed through FTIR and DSC analysis. XRD analysis suggested that raw berberine and nano berberine might exist in a crystal form. Thus, findings from this study indicate that the physicochemical properties of spray-dried nano berberine may increase the bioavailability of oral berberine.

Abstract: Four flame retardant DOPO derivatives were succesfully synthesized by Pudovik reaction, including 6,6'-(([1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-diylbis(azanediyl))bis (thiophen-2-ylmethylene))bis(dibenzo[c,e] [1,2]oxaphosphinine 6-oxide) 5a, 6,6'-(((sulfonylbis(4,1-phenylene))bis(azanediyl)) bis(thiophen-2-ylmethylene))bis(dibenzo[c,e] [1,2]oxaphosphinine 6-oxide) 5b, 6,6'-((1,4-phenylenebis(azanediyl))bis(furan-2ylmethylene))bis(dibenzo[c,e] [1,2]oxaphosphinine 6-oxide) 5c and 6,6'-((oxybis(4,1-phenylene))bis(1-(thiophen-2-yl)ethane-2,1-diyl))bis(dibenzo[c,e] [1,2]oxaphosphinine 6-oxide) 5d. Among them, flame retardants 5a and 5d were synthesized for the first time. DOPO derivatives were combined with functionalized ammonium polyphosphate using polyethyleneimine (PEI-APP) as flame retardant systems for epoxy composites. The combination of compound 5a and PEI-APP gave the materials with the best flame retardancy. 6wt% of PEI-APP/6% of 5a promoted the composite material to V-0 rating in UL-94 vertical burning test and the limiting oxygen index reached 28.9%. The impact of flame retardants towards the mechanical and physical properties of epoxy resin was also evaluated. The combination of 5a with PEI-APP showed the least decrease in mechanical strength of epoxy composite.

Abstract: CYP2C19 is one of the pricipal enzymes involed in the antiplatelet prodrug in patients with acute myocardial infraction. Different genotypes can cause various responses to platelet aggregation inhibitors. Therefore, we conduct research to evaluate the relationship between CYP2C19 polymorphisms and platelet aggregation in patients with acute myocardial infraction. The study was processed with a cross-sectional study of patients diagnosed acute myocardial infraction had blood samples tested for the gene CYP2C19 and platelet aggregation. The results in 64 consecutive patients, phenotypes based on genotypes: 59,3% poor and intermediate metabolizer, 40,7% extensive metabolizer. The average platelet aggregation of (poor, intermediate) metabolizer and extensive metabolizer were 29,79±13,6 and 23,27±11,6, respectively, there was a high similarity between the groups (p 〉 0,05). The average platelet aggregation of (poor, intermediate) metabolier and extensive metabolizer on the group with Clopidogrel were 26,2±10,5 and 29,9±13,6 (p 〉 0,05), the average with Ticagrelor were 10,8±6,5 and 18,4±8,7 (p 〉 0,05), respectively. The group treated with Ticagrelor had a lower platelet aggregation than the remaining one with Clopidogrel (p 〈 0,01). The study got some initial results that would be important for further studies on the relationship between CYP2C19 polymorphisms and platelet aggregation on Viet Namese patients with acute myocardial infraction.

Abstract: Abstract: Exploring the potential of natural bioactive peptides is becoming more and more important for new drug discovery. First isolated from the European wasp Vespa crabro, the antimicrobial peptide Mastoparan C was found in higher content than many other molecules in the Mastoparan family. In addition to the mast cell degranulation that is similar to some components in insect venom, this compound possesses remarkable biological activities such as broad-spectrum antibacterial and antifungal, inhibiting the proliferation of many human cancer cell lines. However, unfortunately, Mastoparan C has the notable side effect of causing mammalian hemolysis. By investigating its structure-activity relationships, this review pointed out some suggestions to overcome the disadvantages of this potential peptide and thereby support further in-depth study in the drug discovery field. Keywords: Mastoparan C, antimicrobial peptide, biological activity, structure-activity relationships.

Abstract: The automatic image caption generation is attractive to both Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing research community because it lies in the gap between these two fields. Within the vieCap4H contest organized by VLSP 2021, we participate and present a Transformer-based solution for image captioning in the healthcare domain. In detail, we use grid features as visual presentation and pre-training a BERT-based language model from PhoBERT-base pre-trained model to obtain language presentation used in the Adaptive Decoder module in the RSTNet model. Besides, we indicate a suitable schedule with the self-critical training sequence (SCST) technique to achieve the best results. Through experiments, we achieve an average of 30.3% BLEU score on the public-test round and 28.9% on the private-test round, which ranks 3rd and 4th, respectively.
