Abstract: The optimized capillary electrophoresis (CE) was applied to separate and detect the 10-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid (10-HAD) in royal jelly products. The method only requires that the sample solution need to be centrifuged and filtered before analyzed by the home-made capillary electrophoresis system. Firstly, 10-HDA was separated in a fused silica column with a diameter of 50 um using 20 mM Tris/Acetic buffer (pH 8.5) as a background electrolyte and a separation voltage of -17kV. Then, 10-HDA was detected by capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection (C4D) with the migration time less than 8 minutes. Nine commercial products of royal jelly with Vietnamese and imported origin including pure royal jelly cream, lyophilized royal jelly (powder and gel) and honey with royal jelly were collected for analysis. The results of this study showed that content of 10-HDA were detected in the range of 0.5 mg/g to 23.1 mg/g. Using paired t test showed that the difference between results obtained from CE-C4D method and from HPLC method as a reference method was not statistically significant. Abstract: Fe68Pd32 nanoparticles were prepared by sonoelectrodeposition with subsequent annealing at 600 oC for a series of times from 1 h to 6 h. The annealing transformed disordered face-centered cubic (fcc) phase in the as-prepared samples into a multi-phase material containing an ordered L10 FePd, fcc FePd and body-centered cubic (bcc) Fe phases. After annealing at 600°C for 6 h the hard magnetic phase L10-FePd and soft magnetic fcc-FePd phase coexist. The structural and magnetic properties of the samples were studied in dependence of annealing time. The decrease of coercivity with increasing annealing time from 1 h to 4 h is suggested to occur by formation of multi-L10 domain particles, while the increase of coercivity with increasing annealing time from 4 h to 6 h is proposed due to the multiphase nature of the nanoparticles samples.

Abstract: The Mekong River mouth has a significance of biodiversity and biological resources, especially for the floating and benthic communities in the ecosystem. The study area belongs to 4 provinces in the lower Mekong River: Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Ben Tre, and Soc Trang. The results of Shannon-Wiener biodiversity value assessment and Berger - Parke index of 3 major aquatic communities in the area including phytoplankton, zooplankton and benthic showing that biodiversity at low levels in terms of species composition as well as biodiversity values. More noteworthy is that the benthic animal communities are at the highest level of risk of loss and biodiversity value loss, mainly due to socio-economic activities, dams construction activities, the industrial and agricultural activities that have made the environment here, especially the sediment environment, strongly affected. The study has proposed a number of solutions to minimize the rapid decline of biodiversity of the region by specific measures from many directions: management, education, propaganda, conservation, prevention of the factors affecting the quality of ecosystem in the region.

Abstract: Cloud detection is a significant task in optical remote sensing to reconstruct the contaminated cloud area from multi-temporal satellite images. Besides, the rapid development of machine learning techniques, especially deep learning algorithms, can detect clouds over a large area in optical remote sensing data. In this study, the method based on the proposed deep-learning method called ODC-Cloud, which was built on convolutional blocks and integrating with the Open Data Cube (ODC) platform. The results showed that our proposed model achieved an overall 90% accuracy in detecting cloud in Landsat 8 OLI imagery and successfully integrated with the ODC to perform multi-scale and multi-temporal analysis. This is a pioneer study in techniques of storing and analyzing big optical remote sensing data.

Abstract: Edaravone (EDV, 3-methyl-1-phenyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one) is a neuroprotective drug that has been used to treat acute stroke caused by cerebral thrombosis and embolism. Studies showed that EDV could be used to treat diseases related to oxidizing agents; however, the activity has not been fully studied yet. In this study, the free radical scavenging activity of EDV was investigated by thermodynamic and kinetic calculations. The results showed that EDV exhibited good HOO• radical scavenging activity in an aqueous medium at pH = 7.40 (koverall(HOO) = 8.58´107 M-1 s-1) through the electron transfer mechanism of the anion state. In contrast, this activity was insignificant in non-polar environments. EDV also exhibited excellent antiradical activity against HO·, CH3O·, CH3OO·, O2·-, NO2, SO4·-, N3· and DPPH radicals in the aqueous solution. Thus, it appears to suggest that EDV is a promising radical scavenger in polar environments.

Abstract: Abstract: The estrogen-α (ER-α) receptor is an important target in breast cancer therapy. Alkaloids are a class of plant extracts that have the potential to inhibit ER-α receptors. In this study, we evaluated the ability of alkaloids to inhibit ER-α receptors by molecular docking method. Based on previous publications, we collected 52 alkaloid compounds. The results showed that there were 4 compounds with stronger inhibitory effects on ER-α receptors than positive controls, which are co-crystallized ligands with 4-hydroxytamoxifen. Conducting analysis according to Lipinski's 5-criteria rule and predicting pharmacokinetic-toxicological parameters, we obtained one compound with drug-like properties is Pityriacitrin B. Therefore, this compound has the potential to develop into drugs that inhibit ER-α receptors for breast cancer treatment. Keywords: Breast cancer, ER-α, molecular docking, alkaloid, Pityriacitrin B.
