Abstract: The turning dynamic features to ensure stable and safe conditions of the TERA 240 truck are investigated using the four-wheeled planar dynamic model, in which the force components from 4 wheels are taken into account to build a computational model with the time-varying steering angle is used. The necessary input parameters of the TERA 240 vehicle for the vehicle planar dynamic model are determined on the basis of the available actual vehicle, with all 3 loading cases are noload, half-load and full-load. The kinematic and dynamic parameters describing the vehicle's planar turning motion are determined, resulting in the basement for evaluating the vehicle's motion stability. The calculation process is performed in the velocity domain to ensure the ultimate stability condition that the vehicle does not slide or overturn when turning. The obtained results are analyzed to evaluate the vehicle's turning stability performance, based on the variable relationship of the parameters in the investigated cases: turning radius is constant, velocity is constant, and steering angle is constant. The vehicle's turning stability is specifically defined: the vehicle is understeer with no-load case, the vehicle is oversteer with half-load and full-load cases.

Abstract: Colonic lipomas are benign tumors resulting from the proliferation of mature fat cells. Gastrointestinal lipomas are rare, often asymptomatic, and most are detected through diagnostic imaging devices such as colonoscopy and abdominal-pelvic computed tomography. Lipomas of the colon were first reported by Bauer in 1757 and are most often located in the ascending colon near cecum. Approximately 90% of colonic lipomas are located in the submucosa. The remainder of these tumors is intramucosal in origin. The reported incidence of colonic lipoma ranges from 0,2% to 4,4%. These fatty tumors are rarely greater than 2 cm in size and are rarely symptomatic. Lipomas that grow more than 4 cm in size can lead to obstruction and intussusception requiring surgical or endoscopic resection. Colonic lipomas may be challenging to diagnose as they may be asymptomatic for a long time or misdiagnosed as other's conditions. Atypical etiologies of intestinal obstruction should be considered in patients with persistent intermittent abdominal discomfort. Even though benign, some abdominal tumor conditions may be presented as cases of emergency care. Symptomatic colonic lipomas can be managed by endoscopy or surgery. Polypectomy through endoscopy is the treatment choice for lipomas considered of low complication risk. These are lipomas with less than 2 cm diameter or pedunculated lipomas with a thin tail. When greater than 2 cm, surgery represents the standard therapeutic option for lipomas. In this report, we present two cases of symptomatic colonic lipomas: one case of splenic flexure lipoma and one case of lipoma in the sigmoid colon. Both cases have been noted with intestinal obstruction. Those two patients performed laparoscopic colectomy. The operation and post-operative recovery were satisfactory. Both of the patients were discharged after taking seven days of post-operative care. Through this article, we would like to introduce the incidence, clinical features, diagnostic facilities, and surgical treatment of this benign tumor.

Abstract: The use of quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) in chemistry, biophysics, microbiology and electronics has grown tremendously in recent years. In this paper, the properties of a QCM sensor (a system include QCM device and viscoelastic medium) operating in the range of 5 MHz to 35 MHz of Multi-resonance Thickness-Shear Mode (MTSM, n = 1, 3, 5, 7) are described. We calculate the changes both in resonant frequencies and attenuation of the QCM. The penetration depth of the shear waves propagating from quartz into loaded thin film varies in different values due to the harmonics, from which we infer the properties of the loaded thin film. The multi-harmonic operation of QCM was presented to collect the information of the loaded thin film on QCM’s electrode. This enables a “virtual slicing technique” because a harmonic relates to a different penetration depth even with the same material. The theoretical analysis of MTSM has been developed to model and simulate the signature of the sensor responses at harmonic frequencies. The signatures of the evaporation- induced deposition processes were investigated by studying the effect of the thickness and stiffness of the medium.

Abstract: The catalytic ozonation of nonionic surfactant nonylphenolethoxylate (NPE) as pollutant in wastewater and its degradation in the presence of silica-supported Cobalt oxide nanoparticles was studied. Characterization of silica supported- cobalt oxide was made using XRD patterns and SEM profiles. The influence of pH, initial NPE concentration, ozonation time and catalyst contents in ozonation process was also investigated. Results show that NPE removals by using silica supported-cobalt oxide catalytic systems are higher than that of using single ozonation. About 99% NPE were removed within 10 min at 30oC. Furthermore, in this condition more than 50% of total carbon of NPE was mineralized.

Abstract: The powertrain model of a vehicle using a small gasoline engine is designed based on the analysis results of the Matlab/Simdriveline simulation model. In which, the vehicle's powertrain model parts include: engine, clutch, gearbox, differential and wheels, and overall vehicle modeled by Matlab/ Simdriveline. Mathematical basis of the corresponding models for systems or components are used to build simulated models for the entire vehicle's powertrain system. The input parameters for the simulation problem include parameters of the size, mass, structural and technical parameters of each system such as transmission ratio, power, velocity, efficiency, determined based on actual vehicle model and empirical calculations. The simulation calculation process is done on the basis of the variation of the engine power, from which, the corresponding input and output kinetic and dynamic parameters of each system in the powertrain system consists of clutch, gearbox, differential, are obtained in the time domain. The results of simulation calculation of the kinematics and dynamics of each system in the vehicle's powertrain are analyzed as a basis for design improvement to improve the dynamic performance of the vehicle model.

Abstract: Introduction: Magnesium tin silicide (MgSiSn) is known as a good-thermoelectric-performance, safe and cost-efficient alloy material. The goal of this work is to design a magnetron co-sputtering configuration for depositing alloy thin films from three independent metal targets including magnesium (Mg), silicon (Si) and tin (Sn). Methods: By this solution, the elemental composition of the MgSiSn thin films can be effectively controlled through changing sputtering power of the individual magnetron. The actual values of elemental composition in the as-deposited films were verified by using energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The as-deposited thin films were investigated carefully by using the X-ray diffraction to recognize crystalline structure characteristics. Most importantly, typically thermoelectric parameters including Seebeck coefficient, electrical conductivity and power factor were indicated as functions of temperature. Results: The XRD analysis exhibits cubic anti-fluorite-type structure characteristic of the MgSiSn films; however, the presence of segregated Mg phase is still observed. The testing results for the representative MgSiSn thin film with good adherence show the power factor of PF ~15×10-3 W/mK2, as a result of Seebeck coefficient of S ~132 µV/K and electrical conductivity of σ ~9000 S/cm, at 373 K. At higher temperature than 473 K, the semiconducting behavior of the films tends to transform from p-type to n-type. Conclusion: The three-target co-sputtering configuration shows the possibility of successfully preparing alloy MgSiSn thin films with good adherence on Si substrate. Furthermore, the testing result suggests that the as-deposited MgSiSn thin films have some potential thermoelectric characteristics, which can be improved more significantly.

Abstract: Introduction: Zinc oxide (ZnO) is well-known as a promising thermoelectric material owing to its safety, inexpensiveness, and thermal stability. This research provides an overview of thermoelectric potentials, including structure, electrical conductivity, Seebeck coefficient, and power factor of pure ZnO semiconductor synthesized in bulk and thin-film forms. Methods: The ZnO bulk was synthesized by solid-state reaction at high temperature, while the thin film was prepared by d.c. magnetron sputtering technique. The temperature-dependent thermoelectric properties of all the samples were measured by the Seebeck LSR-3 system. The crystallographic and surface morphological information of the samples were obtained by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), respectively. Results: The XRD results confirm that both the bulk and thin-film have polycrystalline structure and characteristics of hexagonal-wurtzite ZnO. Through the FESEM observation, the bulk is well densified under high-temperature condition, while the thin-film achieve good orientation and close-packed grains. At 573 K, the obtained thermoelectric properties (electrical conductivity, Seebeck coefficient, and power factor) are respectively 352.4 S/cm, -89.5 µV/K and 282.5 µW/mK2 for the ZnO bulk; and 289 S/cm, -113.8 µV/K and 374.3 µW/mK2 for the ZnO film. Conclusion: The comparative study shows the good thermoelectric potential of ZnO material in both forms of bulk and thin film. Among them, the thin film has better results, especially in the Seebeck coefficient and power factor than one.
