Abstract: In this paper, alumina ceramics were prepared with alumina powder and lanthanum nitrate. The influence of La 2 O 3 on the microstructure and properties of alumina ceramics were studied. The result showed that the addition of La 2 O 3 contributed to the mechanical property of the samples. The alumina ceramics with adding of 0.05wt% La 2 O 3 sintered at 1490°C had the best mechanical properties. And the flexural strength, fracture toughness of the ceramics could reach 571.902MPa and 5.82MPa•m 1/2 ,which were improved by 37.55% and 10.65% respectively compared with the alumina ceramics without La 2 O 3 . Besides, the average grain size of alumina ceramic is about 2.8μm, and the effect of inhibition on grain growth of alumina ceramics was obvious.

Abstract: Fault location is an effective way to ensure quickly power recovery after a failure in power distribution system. Bad operation environment of FTU, damaged elements or lost information usually cause variations in fault information for correlation analysis in fault location of power distribution system. A data mining (DM) correlation analysis model based on rough sets (RS) theory and immune algorithm (IA) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, using RS theory to extract domain knowledge, a set of the given variant fault pattern is converted into a decision table in RS. Secondly, an attribute reduction of the decision table is made by using the IA theory, and the intrinsic correlation rules between input vector (condition attribute) and output vector (decision attribute) are mined. Then, the data mining method is used to deal with the distortion of FTU real-time input information. According to the current limit information sequence of section switches, line fault states in each section are judged to realize the fault location in power distribution network. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the fault location model of distribution network based on RS-IA data mining model is verified by simulation.

Abstract: The failure path of large complex steel structure systems for lattice jib cranes is investigated in this paper. Considering the lack of an explicit function expression in the study of reliability, a method based on a modified response surface method is proposed to quantify the reliability index and the failure probability, capitalizing on the linear-approximated iteration and the difference approach rather than the differential approach in solving nonlinear equations. The major failure path is determined through the analysis of the multiple failure probabilities. The main failure mode of lattice jib cranes is a failure in stability, not a failure in strength based on a comparison of the failure probabilities of both stability failures and strength failures. And the failure path is substantially a rearrangement of the hazardous components and the failure path of components with similar probabilities and close locations varies only in that these components break at distinct starting positions. Finally a proposal is put forward to heighten in engineer practices the security reserves of hazardous components to achieve high reliability of an overall system.

Abstract: In order to improve the mechanical properties of poly (lactic acid) (PLA), cotton fiber/PLA composites were prepared by melting compounding and injection molding. The effects of cotton fiber content and coupling agent on mechanical properties, crystalline behavior and interface morphology of the composites were studied by universal testing machine, DSC and SEM, respectively. The results showed that the crystallinity of the composites increased gradually with the increase of cotton fiber content, whereas the mechanical properties of the composites increased firstly and then decreased with further addition of cotter fiber. The composite with 20wt% cotton fiber had an optimal mechanical performance. In addition, with the incorporation of 1wt% coupling agent, the interfacial adhesion between cotton fiber and PLA improved obviously, and the mechanical properties of the composites increased accordingly. Compared with the neat PLA, the tensile strength, flexural strength, flexural modulus and impact strength of the resultant composites were increased by 66.0%, 27.4%, 45.8% and 60.4%, respectively.

Abstract: With conductivity measurement in different concentrations of barium chloride, sodium sulfate, sodium chloride solution, their concentration-conductivity equation is obtained. Through mathematical conversion, the relation between sulfuric acid root ion in the solution, barium ion conductivity and the concentration is showed as: X=4.1744×10 -6 Y-6.8544×10 -5 ,which is used to reflect the undissolved salt barium sulfate crystallization in the solution. Conductivity online measuring device is established, which can Intermittently test barium chloride, sodium sulfate solution of different concentrations, and detect the change of electrical conductivity in the process of crystallization of homogeneous barium sulfate in real-time. the different stages of crystallization process is determined by analysis of the conductivity curve. Through data processing to concert concentration into conductivity, so that the kinetic equation of barium sulfate crystallization process are obtained.

Abstract: Grind-hardening is a type of composite technology, which utilizes the dissipated heat in the grinding zone for hardening of the workpiece surface layer. The temperature of the workpiece surface, when heated by the grinding, is higher than the austenitizing temperature for short time, then it is lowered by quick cooling causing martensitic transformation to happen in the surface layer of the workpiece. The residual stress is formed by the thermal stress, phase transformation stress and mechanical stress in the grind-hardening layer. In this paper, the forming mechanism of the residual stress in grind-hardening technology is analyzed in theory; the residual stress field in the surface layer is calculated by the finite element, according to changes in the specific volume of the microstructure, the temperature field and the temperature history of the surface layer at different depths. The temperature field is achieved by computer simulation technology. The result of residual stress calculations indicates that the change tendency of the grind-hardening residual stress in the finite element analysis is consistent with the experiments.

Abstract: To ensure its operational security, it is important to study the vibration state of transmission line. The equivalent viscous damping of aero-vibration for a large-span overhead conductor is obligated to be determined. In this paper, the damping characteristics of conductor by AACSR-400 steel core aluminum alloy wire are studied by use of energy balance principle. Based on the Diana wind energy curve and equivalent viscous damping, the relationship between frequency and damping ratio is conducted and discussed. Furthermore, a numerical simulation by ANSYS is performed to verify the validity of the equivalent damping coefficient and equivalent damping ratio with the same material parameters. Study shows that the result of finite element method by ANSYS is consistent well with that by energy balance principle.

Abstract: The experiments are performed to study the hardness layer depth at work piece different surface zone in grinding. The result is that hardness layer depth is various at work piece different surface zone. The hardness layer depth is thinner at cutting-in grinding zone, deeper at middle grinding zone and deepest at cutting-off grinding zone. In order to analyze the cause of hardness depth variation, the grinding temperature field is simulated by means of finite element method. From the temperature field and heat flux simulation, the cause of the hardness depth variation is that the grinding heat flux is variable at different grinding zone along the work piece surface in grind-hardening. At cutting-in zone, most of grinding heat flows into the front-below work piece part inverse to table speed, the depth that temperature of surface layer higher than austenite temperature is thin and there is slim martensite transformation layer. At middle zone, the temperature of surface layer is higher than austenite temperature because of grinding heat accumulated in the surface layer, and martensite transformation takes place after cooling. At cutting-off zone, most of grinding heat flows into the below work piece part because of work piece boundary, and hardness depth is deeper than that at middle zone.
