Abstract: The heating bell with burners is an important heating device for the high performance hydrogen bell-type annealers. The arrangement of the burners has an important impact on the heating effect. In this study, we simulated a series of model with different location of burners under the same quantity of burners and the same heating power. The result shows: (1) Under the same quantity of burners and the same heating power, when we increase the number of rows of burners, the maximum temperature inside the furnace could be reduced, and the temperature distribution will become more uniform; (2)When we fixed the number of the row of the burners, if we move the upper burners to higher position to make the arrangement of burners more uniform, the temperature distribution inside the furnace will be more uniform, this will be good for the heat transfer to the higher parts of the annealers, and this will accelerate the heating process, improve the efficiency of annealing, reduce fuel consumption, and extend the life of the inner bell.

Abstract: Tension control is a crucial technology for winding control. In the present work, a theoretical analysis and design of tension control used in the winding systems for lithium-ion battery is proposed. Through analyzing the winding process of battery batteries, a speed control curve of the winding motor is designed, with which we can achieve a constant-linear-speed operation of the pole-pieces. Based on the electronic CAM technology, using the approximation method, the constant-linear-speed control curve is obtained. Experimental work is done to study the actual evolution curve of speed for battery pole-pieces. Experimental results show that the rate of speed fluctuation between the maximum speed and the minimum speed reduces from about 10 times to 2 times. It confirms the effectiveness of the application of electronic CAM control strategy in tension control.

Abstract: Nowadays, the study of brain function is advanced by implantable microelectrode arrays for they can simultaneously record signals from different groups of neurons regarding complex neural processes. This article presents the fabrication, characterization and use in vivo neural recording of an implantable microelectrode array probe which integrated with electrophysiology reference electrode. The probe was implemented on Silicon-On-Insulator (SOI) wafer using Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems (MEMS) methods, so the recording-site configurations and high-density electrode placement could be precisely defined. The 16 recording sites and the reference electrode were made of platinum. Double layers of platinum electrodes were used so that the width of the reference electrode was as small as 6 μm. The average impedance of the microelectrodes was 0.13 MΩ at 1 kHz. The probe has been employed to record the neural signals of rat, and the results showed that the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the novel probe was as high as 10 and the ordinary probe was 3. Among the 16 recording sites, there are 9 effective sites having recorded useful signals for the probe with reference electrode and 6 for the ordinary probe.

Abstract: Based on the concepts of homotopy, a novel Grenade Explosion Algorithm, called a homotopy-inspired Grenade Explosion Algorithm (HGEA),is proposed to deal with the problem of global optimization. Proceeding from dependent variables of optimized function,it traces a path from the solution of an easy problem to the solution of the given problem by use of a homotopy--|a continuous transformation from the easy problem to the given one. This novel strategy enables the Grenade Explosion Algorithm (GEA) to improve the search efficiency. Theoretical analysis proves that HGEA converges to the global optimum. Experimenting with a wide range of benchmark functions, we show that the proposed new version of GEA, with the continuous transformation, performs better, or at least comparably, to classic GEA.

Abstract: A novel Chaotic Improved Cat Swarm Algorithm (CCSA) is presented for global optimization. The CSA is a new meta-heuristic optimization developed based on imitating the natural behavior of cats and composed of two sub-models: tracing mode and seeking mode, which model upon the behaviors of cats. Here different chaotic maps are utilized to improve the seeking mode step of the algorithm. Seven different chaotic maps are investigated and the Logistic and Sinusoidal maps are found as the best choices. Comparing the new algorithm with the CSA method demonstrates the superiority of the CCSA for the benchmark functions.

Abstract: A novel Chaotic Grenade Explosion Algorithm (CGEA) is presented for global optimization. The GEA is a new meta-heuristic optimization developed based on the observation of a grenade explosion, in which the thrown pieces of shrapnel destruct the objects near the explosion location. Here different chaotic maps are utilized to improve solution search equation of the algorithm. Seven different chaotic maps are investigated. Comparing the new algorithm with the GEA demonstrates the superiority of the CGEA for the benchmark functions.

Abstract: With the increasingly serious crisis of the energy problem, all around the world, the application of solar energy has become an approach of solving the problem undoubtedly. In recent years, due to the rapid development of Chinese photovoltaic (PV) industry, the emergence of PV buildings is more and more widely in the domestic. The current trend is to apply Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to realize the design of Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV). The core problem of CAD is to obtain the best solution to a laying scheme of PV cell. In this paper, the design problem of PV building is concerned about. Through the research on the multi-objective optimization theory, it is to establish the model of multi-objective optimization that can meet these two objectives of the largest total annual solar photovoltaic power generation, yet the smallest possible the unit cost of power generation. The model can be solved by MATLAB using ideal point method. In order to detail explain the application of model and verify it, the design of PV cabin, in Datong area of Shanxi Province, is as an example. The study has laid the foundation for the development of CAD in the future.

Abstract: Characteristics and forming causes of the cracks in welded joint of 15Cr1Mo1V steel serviced 70000h are investigated by mechanical and chemical testing and crack morphology observation. Results show that the cracks initiate from welded metal or coarse grain heat affect zone (CGHAZ) near fusion line, and there are three kinds of defects observed in the crack region, which are macrocracks, microcracks and voids. According to the forming position, process and morphology of the cracks, it is estimated that the cracks are a kind of stress relief crack (SRC). The main reasons of the cracking are because of residual stress caused by improper temperature field during post welding heat treatment, strong stress concentration caused by welding structure, additional stress caused by abnormal hangers & supports and decreased ductility of welded joint in service. The SRC in welded joint can be avoided through optimizing the welding process and postweld heat treatment(PWHT) process to ensure enough critical ductility deformation ability εc and avoiding and reducing stress concentration and additional stress to decrease ductility deformation εP of welded joint which make εc 〉 εp consistently.
