Abstract: N-nitrosamine is a kind of carcinogenic substance, which is possibly formed in the reaction of nitrites with amino acids or secondary amines. Two in vitro model systems were designed to evaluate the influence of oxidized myofibrils protein subjected to repeated freeze-thaw cycles (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 10 times) on N-nitrosamine formation. Model system I contains diethylamine and sodium nitrite, while model system II contains only sodium nitrite as reaction solution. Oxidized myofibrils protein were added to both systems. The results revealed that as the number of freeze-thaw cycles increased, cross-linking of myosin heavy chains and the content of protein carbonyl increased, but the content of protein sulfydryl decreased, which indicates oxidization of protein occurred. The concentration of N-nitrosodiethylamine increased as the number of freeze-thaw cycles increased, especially after four cycles. Oxidized myofibrils protein promoted the formation of N-nitrosodiethylamine. The more the times of freeze-thaw cycles were subjected, the more oxidization of myofibrils protein occurred and the higher yield of the N-nitrosodiethylamine.

Abstract: Advanced technology node demands new capabilities in pre-cleaning substrates of epitaxy films. In particular, cleaning carbon and native oxide on Si and SiGe surfaces are required. In this paper, we present an approach to cleaning both carbon and Si/SiGe native oxide using Previum chamber with two distinct chemistries. FTIR and SEM are used to characterize the conversion and sublimation steps of cleaning native oxide, and carbon film etch rate by hydrogen radicals is presented. The carbon cleaning and oxide cleaning capabilities are integrated in Previum chamber and significantly improved cleaning results are supported by SIMS.

Abstract: A hexa-peri-hexabenzocoronene (HBC) derivative, substituted at periphery by six swallow-tailed alkyl chains containing ether linkages, has been synthesized. Its thermal properties and self-organization were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and polarized optical microscopy (POM). Results showed that the peripheral side chains substituted to the aromatic core could lead the HBC to a dramatically lowered isotropization temperature compared with those reported previously, allowing thermal processing at practical temperatures.

Abstract: The microstructural evolution of the high Nb X80 pipeline steel in Continuous Cooling Transformation (CCT) by Gleeble-3500HS thermal mechanical simulation testing system was studied, the corresponding CCT curves were drawn and the influence of some parameters such as deformation and cooling rate on microstructure of high Nb X80 pipeline steel was analyzed. The results show that as cooling rate increased, the phase transformation temperature of high Nb X80 steel decreased, with the microstructure transformation from ferrite-pearlite to acicular ferrite and bainite-ferrite. When cooling rate was between 20°C/s and 30°C/s, the microstructure was comparatively ideal acicular ferrite, thermal deformation accelerates phase transformation notably and made the dynamic CCT curves move upward and the initial temperature of phase transformation increase obviously. Meanwhile the thermal deformation refined acicular ferrite and extended the range of cooling rate accessible to acicular ferrite.

Abstract: In this paper, isoniazid (INH)-loaded poly (ε-caprolactone) microspheres with a special microporous surface and relatively high drug loading were fabricated by an oil-in-oil (O/O) solvent evaporation method. Meanwhile the microspheres were produced by an oil-in-water (O/W) method for comparison. The technological parameters such as the concentration of surfactant, the volume of continuous phase and the quantity of the drug were investigated systematically. The microspheres morphology, their size distribution and the viscosity of both the dispersed and continuous phase were characterized. The results indicate that the O/O solvent evaporation method is a feasible approach to encapsulate micromolecular and hydrophilic drugs in PCL. This opens the door for INH-loaded microspheres able to release drugs and thereby improve the therapy of tuberculosis of bones and joints in the future.

Abstract: Inside the indirect heating chamber, raw material itself is not being electrified nor giving out heat. Instead, heat is offered by some heater outside and transferred inside to heat the raw material indirectly. Gradient of pressure parallels to as well as matches with that of temperature, which solves the mismatch between these two elements inside the high-pressure chamber. Meanwhile, both electrical resistance and temperature remain unchanged when raw material reacts. What described above realizes uniformity and stability of pressure and temperature. During the process of synthesizing diamond, we employ the technology of two-parameter dynamic matching of pressure and temperature. In this way, attached load increases gradually while attached power decreases little by little to keep pressure and temperature in the rich diamond crystal growth area and allow them to move in a restricted area in direction of identical quality line. As a result, pressure and temperature can match dynamically and diamond crystal can grow steadily and continuously in a long time period to produce high-quality product, per unit output reaches as much as 580cts, 60% of which are of high grade.

Abstract: A finite element model of temperature field for plasma spraying preset MCrAlY coating during laser cladding was constructed using ANSYS parametric design language (APDL) in accordance to characteristics of preset laser cladding. Influencing laws of laser cladding parameters on temperature field were analyzed. Results show that laser power influences temperature field of cladding samples more than laser scanning speed. Experimental results agree well with simulation results, which prove the accuracy and reliability of the constructed calculation model of temperature field. Heating and cooling laws in the laser cladding process could be mastered through this calculation model. Research conclusions provide some references to optimization parameters in preparing high-performance laser cladding coatings.

Abstract: To investigate influences of multi-track overlapping on melting of preset MCrAlY coating during laser cladding plasma spraying, a three-dimensional finite element model of the continuously moving temperature field during multi-track laser cladding was constructed using the ANSYS parametric design language (APDL) based on the existing temperature field model during single-track laser cladding. According to analysis results of temperature field, temperature of samples increases gradually during laser cladding due to heat accumulation effect of laser scanning, and the molten pool expands gradually. There are evident differences among different scanning pathways. Therefore, it is impossible to get high-quality cladding coating with uniform melting and small dilution ratio. Molten pools with basically same sizes in different scanning pathways can be gained by decreasing laser power or increasing scanning speed in different tracks one by one. Similarly, differences of molten pools in different scanning pathways can be relieved effectively through preheating of samples. Through a closed-loop control over the highest cladding temperature, a more even cladding coating can be gained through adaptive control of laser power and / or scanning speed.

Abstract: Hydroponic experiments were carried out to study the effects of cell division inhibitor (Maleic hydrazide MH) and protein synthesis inhibitor(Cycloheximide CHI)on Cd accumulation in Tagetes erecta L and their possible mechanisms. Seedlings were exposed to 4 mmol L-1 MH or 3 µmol L-1 CHI in 0.1 mg L-1 Cd-containing solution for 3 days. After treatment, the Cd content in leaves was significantly (P 〈 0.05) reduced under MH or CHI treatment, which was consistent with the decreased soluble protein contents in leaves, suggesting that protein synthesis plays a role in Cd accumulation in leaves of Tagetes erecta L. Both of the plant growth inhibitors led to increased Cd contents in roots compared with the control, corresponding with increased GSH, Cys or γEC content under MH or CHI treatment, indicating that those S-containing compounds may be related to the increased Cd content in roots under the plant growth inhibitor treatments. On the other hand, the two inhibitors increased the citric acid content in all the tissues of Tagetes erecta L except for that in leaves under CHI treatment. All the results suggest that protein synthesis may be responsible for Cd accumulation in leaves of Tagetes erecta L, while the S-containing compounds and organic acids are associated with Cd absorption in roots of Tagetes erecta L.
