Abstract: The competency of staff in forest parks was analyzed by adopting Behavior Event Interview and a questionnaire was also implemented to investigate the staff training needs. As indicated by the results, there is some difference between the competency of staff in forest parks and that described in Spencer’s Universal Competency Dictionary. The training needs of staff are divided into three categories: “Organization and Management”, “Contact and Communication” and “Customer Orientation” with 11 items in total. Some prevalent training methods, for example, lectures and experts guidance, have significant correlation with staff training needs. Experienced training professionals are favored according to the feedback of training target groups. The training spots should be selected carefully. The research is of great significance to the staff training in forest parks.

Abstract: The scraper is one of the important equipment in coal mine. Because of its hard working condition, the complex force and load fluctuation and vibration during the working process, some structure failures on the axle housing of scraper took place in the coal mine. The 3D models of the axle housing were built based on the engineering prototype. The structure stress of the axle housing was calculated. The mechanical characteristics were studied for further development, which included mechanical structure, the vibration modes of the axle housing, the maximum amplitudes by modal analysis. According to the result, more attention must be paid to the stress concentration, violent and irregular vibration of the axle housing in the design.

Abstract: Sol-gel coatings of mixed TiO2-SiO2 had been deposited on ceramic substrates by spraycoating technique to study their hydrophilic and photocatalytic behavior on exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet illumination. The range of the films heat-treatment temperature is from 300°C to 500°C. AFM and XRD analysis were used to characterize the crystal structure and surface morphology of these coatings. Hydrophilic property was evaluated by water contact angle measurement under sunlight illumination condition, and photocatalytic activity by decomposition rate of aniline blue under ultraviolet illumination. Attrition resistance experiment was also carried out to test the hardness and adherence strength of these films. The experimental results demonstrate that this coating possesses high photo-activity and excellent adhesion to ceramic substrates.

Abstract: To overcome the defects of traditional temperature detecting devices, this paper introduces a temperature detecting system based on 1-wire digital thermometer DS18B20. It consists of programmable resolution 1-wire digital thermometer DS18B20, single chip microcomputer (SCM) AT89C51, and the peripheral circuits. The temperature data can be displayed on a liquid crystal display and simultaneously transmitted to a personal computer (PC) via serial interface for remote monitoring after it is detected by sensors. The operating process of DS18B20 and the connection between AT89C51 and PC are introduced in detail. We also provide the main program flowchart and the flowchart of accessing DS18B20 in this paper. The simulation of the whole process is successfully implemented with software PROTEUS. This system can be widely applied in environment monitoring and process control.

Abstract: Based on the data of water depth in the South Branch and the Hengsha Passage, and the flow spilt ratio of the North Passage and the South Passage, the reasons for the sediment deposition in the upper reach of the Deepwater Navigation Channel in the Changjiang River Estuary are explored. The study shows the influence of the development of the Hengsha Passage is significant. The development of Hengsha Passage causes the increase of sediment and water exchange between the North Channel and the North Passage, which weakens the sediment and water exchange between the North Channel and the North Passage, and enhances the sediment silting in the upper reach of the Deepwater Navigation Channel. The development of Hengsha Passage also causes the scour of the upper reach of the South Passage, which weakens the ebb tide entering into the North Passage and further strengthens the sediment deposition in the upper reach of the Deepwater Navigation Channel. On the other hand, the Coriolis force and V-shaped diversion dike at the head of the Deepwater Navigation Channel also contribute the sediment deposition in the upper reach of the Deepwater Navigation Channel.
