Abstract: Removal of hydrogen sulfide from waste and energy-rich gases is required not only because of environmental health and safety reasons, but also because of operational reasons. Biotrickling filter is one of the most promising clean technologies for removing H 2 S. This study attempted to remove H 2 S in biogas using a laboratory-scale biotrickling filter. The performance and the influence caused by different concentrations of pH, CODCr, sulfate, external nitrate source in the nutrient solution were systematically analyzed. Optimal operating conditions were obtained by the following: pH 2.0~8.0, COD 400~500mg/L, cumulative sulfate concentration 250mg/L, external nitrogen concentration 7.5mg /L.

Abstract: There are microfractures and fractures in the carbonate formation of M oilfield, which are easy to cause collapse and borehole instability. On the basis of the liquefiable cleanflo drilling fluid system for open hole completion of horizontal wells designed in the early stage, this paper has carried out the research work of matching acidizing completion fluid system. In this paper, the influence factors, cleaning ability, compatibility, acidizing situation and protection effect of acidizing completion fluid system are evaluated in laboratory. The way of density adjustment and specific dosage of NaCl and hcoona were established to inhibit the formation of salt crystallization. HTA solid acid and JCI are used to counteract each other to reduce the corrosion of casing steel. The core displacement results show that the permeability recovery value of carbonate core after completion fluid treatment can reach 97.54%, and that of sandstone core after treatment can reach 114.7%. Moreover, the completion fluid system also has a certain acidizing effect, which can not only clean and remove the plugging, but also serve as the early induction of acidizing and stimulation.

Abstract: Fatigue weak-link density and strength distribution are materials fatigue properties which are useful in evaluation of alloy quality in terms of the fatigue crack nucleation behavior. This paper reports: 1) an experimental methodology developed to measure fatigue weak-link density and strength distribution by measuring surface crack population as a function of the maximum applied stress, and 2) a quantitative model to quantify fatigue weak-links, based on the 3-D effects of pores in cast alloys. The experimental method could be employed to characterize the fatigue crack initiation behaviors and their anisotropy in wrought and cast Al alloys such as AA8090 Al-Li, AA2026, AA7075 and A713 alloys. It was found that the crack populations were a Weibull function of the applied maximum stress. By fitting this measured curve, fatigue weak-link density could be quantified in these alloys. The derivative of the measured Weibull function resulted in the strength distribution of the fatigue weak-links. The fatigue weak-links could also be quantified from the reconstructed microstructure of a cast Al alloy by analyzing the stress/strain fields around a micro-pore (an elasto-plastic media) under cyclic loading as a function of pore position in depth on surface using a 3-D finite element method. The incubation life for the fatigue crack initiated from a surface pore could be estimated using a microscopic scale Manson-Coffin equation. The results obtained using the 3-D pore-sensitive model were consistent with the experimental results, i.e., the crack population was a Weibull function of the applied stress. The percentage of crack initiation life was found to increase with decrease in cyclic load, i.e., at the stress just above the fatigue limit, it was over 95% the total fatigue life, compared to just 62.5% at the maximum stress of 110% yield strength.

Abstract: Two kinds of (R) -1-(1H-indol-3-yl) propan-2-amines were prepared through a five-step sequence procedure. The intermediate ketones were prepared by a modified Nef reaction using nitroalkenes to react with Fe-HCl. Condensation of (R) -(+)-2-methyl-2-propanesulfinamids with ketones, which was followed by a final desulfonation treatment with a solution of hydrochloride/methanol under mild conditions, optical pure (R)-sulfonamides could be synthesized. Without further chiral separation processing, the target products of (R) -1-(1H-indol-3-yl) propan-2-amines could be obtained with higher yield and excellent enantiopurity (over 99% e.e.), thus it was time-saving and cost-saving.

Abstract: In order to measure the urban traffic occupying natural resources and energy and influencing to the ecological environment, the paper, for the first time, has applied the ecological footprint (EF) theory to the transportation and founded a perfect model of traffic EF. Taking Wuhan city for example, the paper has also calculated the EF and ecological efficiency (EE) of passenger traffic system, and then found out the vehicle with optimal EE. By making comparison with the EE and ecological pressure (EP) of passenger traffic in Xi’an, Beijing and Shenyang, it was found that the EE of passenger traffic in Wuhan was much lower, and it was encountering great EP. Therefore, it was significant to optimize the structure of passenger traffic and enhance the proportion of green transportation.

Abstract: Due to the excellent thermal conductivity and high strength of aluminum alloy and unique advantages containing shock absorbing, vibrations dampening and corrosion resistant of magnesium alloy, Al/Mg double-layer tubes have been widely utilized in household appliances, automobiles, aerospace industries, and high-speed trains in recent years. Conventionally, double-layer tubes are produced by welding, extrusion, hydroforming, magnetic pulse cladding. These processes are either complex or highly energy-consuming. To improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption, a new technology, thixo-co-extrusion (TCE), is put forward for production of double-layer tubes. In this paper, the thixo-co-extrusion of a 7075/AZ91D double-layer tube is investigated by numerical simulation. This study assesses the influences of extrusion velocity, the thickness ratios of two layers, the reheating temperatures of billets and the preheating temperature of die on the flow behaviors. The results show that the extrusion velocity and the thickness ratios significantly influence the contact pressures on the interface as well as the velocity fields. Besides, the reheating temperatures of billets and the preheating temperatures determine the distribution of temperature fields. Under the contact pressures and a certain temperature, atomic diffusion takes place on the interface between inner and outer layer, which leads to metallurgical bonding of the interface. The paper contributes to a better understanding of the thixo-co-extrusion technology for the production of double-layer tubes with desirable mechanical properties.

Abstract: A novel faint signal processing method based on phase-lock amplification principle is developed to enhance the sensitivity of pump/probe-based laser generated and laser detected surface acoustic waves (LG/LD SAW) spectroscopy system. This novel method involves a “dead zone” filter located before a common phase-lock amplification unit, which wipes off most of the noise stacked on SAW signal. This paper explored the working principle of this novel signal processing method based on the knowledge of the characteristics of the system noise and the signal. The experiment result shows that the detection system’s sensitivity has been dramatically improved by this new signal processing method.

Abstract: For understanding the temporal variation of nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations in Huihe River, Suzhou, the observed data (including NH 4 + -N、 TN、TP, the temple and quantity of the water) from 2007 to 2010 were analyzed by statistical analysis including correlation, cluster and factor analysis. The results imply that the variations of concentrations of NH 4 + -N, TN and TP in Huihe River were significant, their concentrations are 0.05-4.22mg/L, 0.11-15.14mg/L and 0.01-1.41mg/L, respectively. Correlation and factor analysis suggest that NH 4 + -N、TN and TP are well correlated with water temperature, whereas there is no significant between them and water quantity. Comparative study and cluster analysis, as well as factor analysis imply that the temporal variations of nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations in Huihe River are significant, and coincide with the seasonal variation of climatic variation of the study area. The results show that either dredging project or climate factors (seasonal changes) had dramatically affected the pollution of NH 4 + -N, TN and TP. Moreover, the study also confirmed that NH 4 + -N, TN pollution is mainly anthropogenic, different with TP pollution, who is more likely to be controlled by natural factors.
