Abstract: A new approach is presented in this paper in which a Crush Natural Gas (CNG) Turbo Engine model based on Mean Value Model and transient dynamics are included. The model could simulate engine speed, torque, dynamic load, electronic throttle, turbo, temperature and emission conditions. The model was downloaded and run in a HIL platform joint with Labview and a CNG engine ECU. Simulation results indicate that it acquires good balance between Real-time response and dynamic accuracy, besides good comprehensive running status parameters including dynamic, mechanic, thermo and combustion. The model made it possible for electronic engineers to begin their works earlier to find solutions for power loss, high working temperature of CNG engine with more flexibility and lower bench test expense.

Abstract: Electronic throttle is a typical nonlinear device because of the nonlinear reset springs. Normal sliding mode control usually leads to chattering. To reduce chatters, a sliding mode control method based on compensation of nonlinearity is proposed, in which an observer is designed to observe and compensate the nonlinearity. A Lyapunov function was constructed to prove that control system is stable. Simulation and experiment results indicate that the proposed method can reduce chatters and achieve good control robustness.

Abstract: In order to research the ablation of 0Cr18Ni9 stainless steel films whose thickness is 20μm, stainless steel films were ablated and micro-cut by fs laser in the paper. Firstly, the ablation threshold of 0Cr18Ni9 stainless steel films and the beam waist radius of fs laser were obtained based on the functional relation between ablation area and the laser energy. And, experimental results indicate that the waist radius of fs laser is 10.416μm and the ablation threshold of stainless steel films whose thickness is 20μm is 0.455J/cm2. Secondly, in order to observe the heat-affected zone, metallographic phase and electrical resistivity of stainless steel films ablated by fs laser were researched in detail. And through the experimental results, we can deduce that metallographic phase of specimens which were cut by fs laser was in recovery process and the metallographic was not change. Finally, in order to research the composition of stainless steel films phase affected by fs laser ablation, specimens were tested by XRD. And through the XRD test, it can be deduced the composition of stainless steel films phase was not affected by fs laser cut and the content of phase was affected by it.

Abstract: Cubic δ-NbNfilm with (200) texture, hexagonalδ′-NbN films with a mixed (100)+(110) texture and (110) texture have been deposited on Si (100) substrate at-40, -160 and-200Vsubstrate bias, respectively. Vacuum heat treatments were performed to investigate the effects of annealing temperature on structural stability and hardness of δ-NbN and δ′-NbN films. The results show that for δ-NbN film and δ′-NbN films with a strong (110) texture,no phase transition occuredafter heat treatments. But for δ′-NbN films with a mixed (100)+(110) texture, phase transition from δ′-NbN to δ-NbNtook place, which can be ascribed to small lattice mismatch between δ′-NbN (100) and δ-NbN (111) and low phase transition barrier. In addition, the high substrate bias can improve the interface adhesion due to interface mixing resulting from high energy ions bombardment. Even after annealing at 900°C, the hardness for δ′-NbN deposited at-200V still remains 32GPa, which shows a potential application at the field of protect coatings.

Abstract: Framed curing mold is subjected to an uneven thermal load, gravity force and the pressures from composite parts and auxiliary tools during autoclave processing of thermosetting composite structures. And those loads induce the warpage of framed-mold. The warpage of framed-mold during autoclave processing influences dimensional precision of composite parts. In the present work, a three-dimensional finite element model for prediction of the warpage of framed-mold during autoclave processing has been developed. This model solved the coupling problem between the deformation and the temperature distribution of framed-mold and allows analysis of all major identified deformation influencing factors. And numerical predictions compare quite well with experimental measurements. A parametric study was performed using FEM program to examine the effect of varying the thickness of framed-mold, the shape and the dimension of mold vents.

Abstract: Numerical simulation and experimental analysis for a magnetic circuit model of a damper were carried out by adjusting the size of the auxiliary gap to obtain greater magnetic field strength and wider adjustable multiples of the damping force. Results of experiment indicate that there is a specific ratio of sizes between the auxiliary gap and the working gap; this gap ratio is 3:1. The adjustable multiple and gap ratio is validated by the results of the experiment. The largest value for the magnetic induction in the working gap can reach 80–90% of the maximum; the least value is close to zero, and the adjustable multiple of the magnetic induction is near about a factor of 7. Experimental data also indicate that the law of the magnetic flux leakage is affected by the size of auxiliary gap as well as the intensity and direction of the current. Performance testing of the real optimal damper reveals that the maximum damping force of the damper is 195.7 kN, which is ~92.7 percent of the theoretical maximum value, at a gap ratio of 1:2.5.

Abstract: The joining process of SiCp/A356 composites is investigated. The two substrates are heated up to the melt temperature of Zn27Al filler metal by a resistance heating plate. At the time, a stirrer is introduced into the liquid weld seam in order to mix filler metal and two sides of substrates into a single uniform joint. After stirring, specimens are sectioned for the analysis of macro- and micro-structures along the weld region. The research shows that two typical joint interfaces with oxide film and without one were found. So, oxide film on the substrate wasn’t completely disrupted during stirring brazing at 500°C.And, the tensile strength of joint is only 50MPa.

Abstract: The semi-solid brazing process of SiCp/A356 composites and aluminum alloy was investigated. The two substrates were heated up to the semisolid temperature range of Zn-Al filler metal in the joint region by a resistance heating plate. At this point a stirrer was introduced into the weld seam in order to mix filler metal and the two sides of substrates into a single uniform joint. After stirring, specimens were sectioned for analysis of macro- and micro-structures along the weld region. The research shows that SiCp/A356 composites and aluminum can be successfully joining with semi-solid filler metal. It can be found that most of the oxide film on the surface of the base metal was disrupted and removed through the observation by SEM. The metallurgical bonds formed between the filler metal and the base materials. Moreover, the oxide film of surface of aluminum alloy was more thoroughly disrupted and removed than that of surface of composites with existing of Sic particle. The joint microstructure with globular α-Al grain enclosed by rich-Zn phase can be obtained after stirring brazing.

Abstract: This paper presents a novel and fast scheme for signal denoising by using Empirical mode decomposition (EMD). The EMD involves the adaptive decomposition of signal into a series of oscillating components, Intrinsic mode functions(IMFs), by means of a decomposition process called sifting algorithm. The basic principle of the method is to reconstruct the signal with IMFs previously selected and thresholded. The denoising method is applied to four simulated signals with different noise levels and the results compared to Wavelets, EMD-Hard and EMD-Soft methods.

Abstract: An experiment setup was built to test the droplet separation performance of demister. Different experiments were conducted using various Polytetrafluoroethene (PTFE) meshes. Results show that the separation efficiency of demister is dependent on screen thickness, mesh count. Pressure drop increases with the increase of steam flow rate and screen thickness.
