Abstract: The effects of various extractants removing Cr from the soil of chromite ore processing residue (COPR) deposited sites were studied in order to select the optimal extractant agent. The effects of this agent on the removal of Cr(VI) and Cr(III) in the contaminated soil were also investigated. The results showed that organic complexing agents had higher removal efficiency than that of inorganic complexing agents due to the high content of Cr(III) in the soil(90.3%). The Cr removal of citric/sodium citrate (mole ratio: 1:1) was 35.95% in 24h. The reason why citric/sodium citrate removed more Cr than other agents is that citric can solubilize the mineral matrix, compete for the surfaces sites to desorb Cr(VI) and remove Cr(III) by its complexation. The concentration radio of Cr(VI) and Cr(III) in the initial soil was 0.11. Thus improving the removal of Cr(III)is the key point of improving the total Cr removal.

Abstract: Cement addition, water addition and wet curing period are selected as the effects on cold modulus of rupture and cold crushing strength of one LCRC. According to the molding morphologies of the castables, when the water addition is 8 wt. %, the castable is suitable to be cast by vibration fashion, and the high strength of the castable can be kept because the hardening time is not very long. Through an orthogonal experiment, it is shown that cold modulus of rupture and cold crushing strength increase with increasing cement addition, decrease with increasing water addition, almost do not affect by the wet curing period. It is recommended that 4 wt. % cement addition and 8 wt. % water addition of the castable are used when it is applied to industries.

Abstract: LPFBs are mainly applied in the lower party of glass furnace regenerator as checker works or walls. They are subjected to the loads of upper refractory materials at high temperature. So the creep behavior of them should be considered to predict the longevity of the regenerator. Two kinds of LPFBs were chosen as the test samples. It is shown that the creep rates of them under different stresses (0.1MPa, 0.2MPa, and 0.3MPa) and different temperatures (1200°C and 1280°C) are within 0.2%. LPFB1 with lower apparent porosity is more sensitive to temperature. LPFB2 is more sensitive to stress. The relationship between the creep and other mechanical properties is: the higher the Al 2 O 3 content, the higher the bulk density, the lower the apparent porosity, and the higher the refractoriness under load of LPFB, the lower the total strain range of it. A model combined with phase diagram was built to analyze the microstructures and the creep curves with different shapes of the two LPFBs.

Abstract: Eu 2+ doped b-SiAlON (z = 1, 3, 4) phosphor were synthesized by carbothermal reduction- nitridation (CRN) using precursors powder as materials. The precursors powder prepared by sol-gel method using the SiO 2 , AlCl 3 ×6H 2 O, Eu(NO 3 ) 3 , ammonia water, carbon powders as starting materials. The CRN reaction proceeded at 1380°C for 6 h in an N 2 atmosphere. Eu 2+ doped b-SiAlON (z = 1, 3, 4) had high adsorption in the UV-visible spectral region. While z = 1, one bands were observed in the emission spectrum centered at about 425 nm monitored at 282 nm. The excitation bands centered at about 282 nm. While z = 3, one bands were observed in the emission spectrum centered at about 425 nm monitored at 282 nm. The excitation bands centered at about 282 nm. While z = 3, the emission spectra exhibit one bands with maxima at about 419 nm under 280 nm excitation. The excitation bands centered at about 280 nm. While z = 4, the emission spectrum centered at about 419 nm monitored at 280 nm. The excitation bands centered at about 280 nm. In this work, luminescence properties of Eu 2+ doped b-SiAlON (z = 1, 3, 4) are independent of z value. It is possible related to the low synthesis temperature.

Abstract: The uniform design is a new design method for investigating the experiment with many factors and levels, which can get enough experiment information with less experiment times. The advantages of uniform design are introduced in the paper, it can seek experimental points to be uniformly scattered in the experimental domain, which reduce experiment times greatly and get good experiment results. The new polymeric grouting experiment is designed by uniform design and the experiment data has been studied by regression analysis. It is proved that distinct influencing factor on grout diffusion radius are grouting pressure and permeability, but the influences of grouting time and grout temperature are smaller, their relation has been obtained through regression analysis, uniform design is efficient and credible method of experimental design by the experiment results.

Abstract: In order to avoid heavy casualties and economic losses, and to get an insight into flow state evolution laws of water inflow and inrush in course of tunnel excavation, simulations were done with COMSOL Multiphysics. By coupling and linking different kinds of sub domain governing equations with boundary conditions and possibly initial conditions, three kinds of water flow state, Darcy’s law for water flow in the limestone aquifer, Brinkman equations for fast fluid in the karst conduit; and incompressible Navier-Stokes equations for freely moving of water in the excavated tunnel, are interacted and coupled with each other. Water pressure and velocity were studied and analyzed in course of tunnel excavation. It is proved that there will be no disastrous water inrush when the seepage deformation of the karst conduit is small, and that it is of vital importance to protect and support the clastic medium of karst conduit, and to strictly guard against any change of the permeability of the karst fillings.

Abstract: Aiming at reducing agricultural pollution caused by plastic film and increasing soil moisture and water use efficiency (WUE), the field experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of re-used plastic film mulching on soil moisture, sunflower’s yield and water use efficiency by compared with new plastic film mulching and bare field in Hetao area, China. The results showed that, soil water of re-used film mulching increased at different degree. Compared with bare field and new film mulching, soi1 moisture of re-used film were higher significantly 1.5 percentage points in 0-100 cm, and especially 1.9 or 2.6 percentage points in 0-10 cm during sunflower’s growth stage. Soil water of re-used film was more than that of bare field 24.8 mm (in 2010) and 33.0 mm (in 2011) before seeding, and 21.6mm (in 2010) and 24.5mm (in 2011) at harvest when soil water was replenished to same level for each treatment before sowing. Meanwhile, the grain yield of re-used film was higher significantly than that of bare field 11.4% (in 2010) and 16.8% (in 2011), and WUE of re-used film was higher significantly 15.7% (in 2010) and 22.7% (in 2011) respectively, no significant with new film. So it was worth to apply re-used film to agriculture production for improving the soil moisture, enhancing water use efficiency and increasing the yield of sunflower. We suggest that the application of re-used film mulching is a suitable soil management practice for increase water and WUE in Hetao area or other areas with similar conditions.

Abstract: A kind of red emitting phosphor, Sr 2 B 2 O 5 :Eu 3+ , Na + for white light-emitting diodes (W-LED) was synthesized by high-temperature solid-state reaction method. The characterization and luminescence properties of the phosphor were investigated. It is found that this phosphor can be effectively excited by 394 nm near-ultraviolet (n-UV) light, and exhibit bright red emission centered at 613 nm corresponding to the 5 D 0 → 7 F 2 transition of Eu 3+ ions. It is shown that the 11 mol% of Eu 3+ doping concentration in Sr 2 B 2 O 5 :Eu 3+ , Na + phosphor is optimum, and the concentration quenching occurs when the Eu 3+ concentration is beyond 11 mol%. The concentration quenching mechanism can be interpreted by the dipole–dipole interaction of Eu 3+ ions. The present work suggests that this novel phosphor is a kind of potential red emitting phosphor.
