Abstract: Aiming at the problem that vibration signal of mechanical transmission system of shearer is vulnerable to be interferenced by non-stationary strong noise, a combined method with variational mode decomposition and recursive least squares (VMD-RLS) is proposed for non-stationary noise reduction. Firstly, the vibration signal is decomposed by VMD and the number of decomposition layers is determined according to the principle of minimum energy difference. Then, a dominant criterion of frequency-domain characteristic amplitude is proposed to select invalid intrinsic mode components (IMF, Intrinsic Mode Function). The proportion of the frequency-domain characteristic amplitude of each order IMF component for VMD is calculated. The invalid intrinsic mode functions are selected for reconstruction, and the noise signal after VMD decomposition is obtained. Finally, the noise signal decomposed by VMD is used as reference noise signal of RLS adaptive filtering algorithm to carry out adaptive noise reduction, and the final vibration signal after noise reduction is obtained. The wavelet de-noising method, VMD de-noising method, and VMD-RLS de-noising method are used to carry out noise reduction comparative experiment on the vibration signal of shearer. The experiment results indicate that the noise reduction method of VMD-RLS is better than VMD and wavelet de-noising method. The noise reduction method of VMD-RLS can effectively extract vibration signals from non-stationary strong noise, and provide help for the subsequent fault diagnosis and analysis of shearer mechanical transmission system.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to validate a novel pictorial-based Longshi Scale for evaluating a patient’s disability by healthcare professionals and non-professionals. Design: Prospective study. Setting: Rehabilitation departments from a grade A, class 3 public hospital, a grade B, class 2 public hospital, and a private hospital and seven community rehabilitation centers. Subjects: A total of 618 patients and 251 patients with functional disabilities were recruited in a two-phase study, respectively. Main measures: Outcome measure: pictorial scale of activities of daily living (ADLs, Longshi Scale). Reference measure: Barthel Index. The Spearman correlation coefficient was used to analyze the validity of Longshi Scale against Barthel Index. Results: In phase 1 study, from March 2016 to August 2016, the results demonstrated that the Longshi Scale was both reliable and valid (intraclass correlation coefficient based on two-way random effect (ICC 2,1 ) = 0.877–0.974 for intra-rater reliability; ICC 2,1 = 0.928–0.979; κ = 0.679–1.000 for inter-rater reliability; intraclass correlation coefficient based on one-way random effect (ICC 1,1 ) = 0.921–0.984 for test–retest reliability and Spearman correlation coefficient = 0.836–0.899). In the second phase, in March 2018, results further demonstrated that the Longshi Scale had good inter-rater and intra-rater reliability among healthcare professionals and non-professionals including therapists, interns, and personal care aids (ICC 1,1 = 0.822–0.882 on Day 1; ICC 1,1 = 0.842–0.899 on Day 7 for inter-rater reliability). In addition, the Longshi Scale decreased assessment time significantly, compared with the Barthel Index assessment ( P 〈 0.01). Conclusion: The Longshi Scale could potentially provide an efficient way for healthcare professionals and non-professionals who may have minimal training to assess the ADLs of functionally disabled patients.

Abstract: In recent decades, various single-phase drive ultrasonic motors have emerged, and only a single excitation signal is used in their working states. Single-phase driven ultrasonic motors have the benefits of most ultrasonic motors, as well as the advantages of a simple driving circuit construction, low cost, high design flexibility, and high reliability, among others. According to the working principles, they are divided into three types: the vibration mode alternating type, the vibration mode coupling type, the vibration mode converting type. This paper summarizes various types of single-phase ultrasonic motors. The three types of the working principles and its representative structures are explained; output performances of the single-phase ultrasonic motors are described; then, practical and potential applications of the single-phase ultrasonic motors are introduced; finally, the research of single-phase ultrasonic motors are reviewed, and its development prospect is prospected. This review is helpful for a comprehensive understanding of single-phase drive ultrasonic motors. This paper offers the groundwork for the development of a novel single-phase driven ultrasonic motor with improved mechanical output.

Abstract: The Neighbourhood-based collaborative filtering (CF) algorithm has been widely used in recommender systems. To enhance the adaptability to the sparse data, a CF with new similarity measure and prediction method is proposed. The new similarity measure is designed based on the Hellinger distance of item labels, which overcomes the problem of depending on common-rated items (co-rated items). In the proposed prediction method, we present a new strategy to solve the problem that the neighbour users do not rate the target item, that is, the most similar item rated by the neighbour user is used to replace the target item. The proposed prediction method can significantly improve the utilisation of neighbours and obviously increase the accuracy of prediction. The experimental results on two benchmark datasets both confirm that the proposed algorithm can effectively alleviate the sparse data problem and improve the recommendation results.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the protective effect of Traditional Chinese medicine Shuangwu Zhentong Capsule (SZC) on collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) and the possible mechanisms. Sixty rats were randomly divided into control and model: low-, medium-, and high-dose SZC and prednisone acetate (PA) groups, with 10 rats in each group. The CIA model was established in later 5 groups. The rats in low-, medium-, and high-dose SZC groups were intragastricallly administered with SZC, with dose of 0.5, 1, and 2 g/kg, respectively. The PA group was intragastricallly administered with 5 mg/kg PA. The treatment was performed for 3 weeks. Before treatment and after treatment, the paw swelling degree and polyarthritis index score of rats were measured. At the end of experiment, the serum tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and nitric oxide (NO) levels were determined. The expressions of Ras and Raf-1 protein in synovial tissue were detected. Results showed that, after treatment, compared with model group, in high-dose SZC and PA groups, the paw swelling degree, polyarthritis index score, serum TNF-α, IL-1β and NO levels, and synovial tissue Ras and Raf-1 protein levels were significantly decreased, respectively ( P  〈  0.05). In conclusion, SZC has obvious protective effects on CIA in rats. The mechanisms may be related to its resistance of inflammatory reaction and down-regulation of Ras and Raf-l protein expressions in synovial tissue.

Abstract: Efficacy and safety of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) for preventing primary and recurrent venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients with cancer remain unclear. In this study, we conducted a systematic review to summarize the most up-to-date evidence from randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Our primary outcomes included the benefit outcome (VTE) and safety outcome (major bleeding). A random-effects model was used to pool the relative risks (RRs) for data syntheses. The Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation tool was used to evaluate the quality of the entire body of evidence across studies. We included 11 RCTs with a total of 3741 patients with cancer for analyses. The DOACs were significantly related with a reduced risk of VTE when compared with non-DOACs: RR = 0.77, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.61-0.99, P = .04. Nonsignificant trend towards a higher risk of major bleeding was found in DOACs: RR = 1.28 95% CI: 0.81-2.02, P = .29. The quality of the entire body of evidence was graded as moderate for risk of VTE, and low for risk of major bleeding. To summarize, DOACs were found to have a favorable effect on risk of VTE but a nonsignificant higher risk of major bleeding compared with non-DOACs in patients with cancer. The safety effect of DOACs in patients with cancer requires further evaluation in adequately powered and designed studies.

Abstract: The PCR-PIRA and PCR-RFLP techniques were used for BARD1 genotyping. Correlations between gene polymorphisms and the susceptibility to breast cancer were analyzed by logistic regression analysis. Results showed that compared with the wild type of 378 Arg/Arg of BRAD1, the homozygotic type of 378 Ser/Ser with Arg378Ser site mutation had a protective effect (adjusted odds ratio: 0.628, 95% confidence interval: 0.306-1.145). Compared with individuals carrying the wild type of 24Pro/Pro, the disease risk of individuals with the heterozygous type of 24 Pro/Ser decreased by 30.6% and that with the mutational homozygotic type of 24 Ser/Ser decreased by 43.8%. SNP sites rs2229571 and rs1048108 of BARD1 are associated with a lower risk of breast cancer but not rs2070094.

Abstract: This article aims to establish the relationship between the position and cable tension influencing factors and the stability, and propose a method for quantitative stability sensitivity assessment for a cable-based coal–gangue picking robot. Firstly, a structural stability measure approach is proposed for the cable-based coal–gangue picking robot. Secondly, a stability sensitivity analysis model is developed to investigate the stability sensitivity on the selected influencing factors based on the grey relational degree, where the influencing degree of each factor on the stability for the cable-based coal–gangue picking robot is explored with grey relational analysis. At last, a numerical study is carried out to demonstrate the stability measure approach and stability sensitivity analysis model for the cable-based coal–gangue picking robot was scientific and reasonable, where the end-grab position set which the robot can meet the predetermined stability requirements is obtained. And meanwhile, the correlation of each influencing factor on the stability for the robot is calculated. And the stability sensitivity simulation results show that (1) the correlation of the seven influencing factors on the stability are, in a descending order, cable tension T 2 〉 cable tension T 4 〉 cable tension T 3 〉 cable tension T 1 〉 z-direction displacement of the end-grab 〉 x-direction displacement 〉 y-direction displacement; (2) among the influencing factors, the cable tensions have greater influence on the stability of coal–gangue picking robot, and it is followed by the z-direction displacement of the end-grab, while y-direction displacement is found to have the minimal influence. This article provides a guiding direction for robust design of the sorting trajectory planning and control of the coal–gangue picking robots.

Abstract: Retrospective cohort study. Objective To evaluate the cross-cultural adaptability and internal consistency of the Chinese version of the Quality-of-Life Profile for Spine Deformities (QLPSD) questionnaire in mainland China. Methods The original QLPSD was translated from Spanish into Chinese with proper cross-cultural adaptation based on the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons guidelines. A total of 129 AIS patients referring to our institution from February 2021 to January 2022 were enrolled in this study. The effects of ceiling and floor were evaluated and the reliability was verified by examining the internal consistency (the Cronbach’s α coefficient). Interclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) was used to test and retest reliability. The C-QLPSD dimensions were compared with the domains in Chinese version of 36-Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) and Scoliosis Research Society-22 (SRS-22) questionnaires using Pearson correlation coefficient to assess the concurrent validity. Results No significant floor and ceiling effects in C-QLPSD was observed. The total Cronbach’s α was estimated at .914, ranging from .768 in back pain dimensions to .862 in psychosocial function dimensions. The C-QLPSD dimensions indicated satisfactory test-retest reliability with ICC range of .784-.870. Construct validity analysis revealed that C-QLPSD was well correlated with SRS-22 and SF-36. The values of total correlation coefficient were calculated at -.924 and -.871, respectively, which were both statistically significant ( P 〈 .05). Conclusion The adapted Chinese version of QLPSD had good internal consistency and excellent test-retest reliability, which can be used to assess the outcome among Chinese-speaking patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

Abstract: In this study, a damage measurement procedure is proposed, which combines both digital image correlation and direct current potential drop techniques to evaluate quantitatively the ductile damage in metal sheets during uniaxial tensile loading. Digital image correlation and direct current potential drop techniques are applied to measure the full-field deformation and overall electrical resistance of the region of interest of the specimen during tensile loading. The basic principles, methodology and derivation process are presented in detail. A professional data processing system based on MATLAB is developed to characterize the deformation–resistance–damage relationship during uniaxial tensile loading. The ductile damage can be evaluated conveniently by the proposed approach, and the experimental results so obtained are consistent with those derived by using micro-hardness technique. The necking stage during uniaxial tension is discussed in detail, and it has been shown that the onsets of diffused necking and localized necking can be determined according to the relationship between the major principle true strain and loading steps. Further, the onset of the localized necking can be used to estimate accurately whether the material is going to rupture.
