Abstract: In this study, the silane cross-linked membranes based on branched sulphonated poly(ether ether ketone)s (BSPEEK) with a high sulphonation degree of 1.2 have been successfully prepared for direct methanol fuel cells. 3-Mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (MPTMS) was grafted onto the BSPEEK backbone via the thiol–ene click reaction between propenyl and thiol groups. The expected silane cross-linked structure within the membrane was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and solubility test. The silane cross-linked membranes displayed excellent chemical stability and improved mechanical property. Furthermore, the water uptake and methanol permeability of the membranes decreased with the increasing proportion of MPTMS. The dense membrane structure formed by Si–O–Si cross-linking made a great contribution to the improvement of the membrane’s properties. Therefore, the as-prepared membranes may be potential proton electrolyte membrane for fuel cells.

Abstract: With the objective of improving water uptake and proton conductivity, silica sulfonic acid (SSA) nanoparticles were successfully prepared via the sulfonation of silica (SiO 2 ) with sulfuryl chloride and a series of branched sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (BSPEEK)-based hybrid membranes with varying contents of SSA were fabricated by the solution-casting method as proton electrolyte materials. The hybrid membranes exhibited improved water uptake, excellent thermal stability, and enhanced mechanical strength. Compared with the methanol permeability, with the incorporation of SSA particles, the proton conductivity enhanced more significantly. The selectivity of the hybrid membranes increased with the increasing SSA contents, and the highest value was 8.2 × 10 5 S s cm −3 , which was 2.6 times higher than that of Nafion 117. Therefore, these BSPEEK-SSA hybrid membranes could be considered as promising materials for direct methanol fuel cell applications.

Abstract: Pharmacists are health care professionals who are actively involved in identifying and solving drug-related problems (DRPs) in neoplasm patients. However, the effectiveness of pharmaceutical services at outpatient clinic for neoplasm patients have not been reported in China. This study aims to describe and investigate the impacts of pharmacists-managed oncology outpatient clinic on ambulatory neoplasm patients. We performed a descriptive, prospective study from June 6, 2018 to June 6, 2020. Firstly, we established a pharmacists-managed oncology outpatient clinic and a Pharmacists Work System of Medication Therapy Management (MTM) software with the cooperation of oncologists, pharmacists and software engineers in 2018. Subjects were neoplasm patients who visited the pharmacists-managed outpatient clinic. The pharmacists performed a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s medication and made planned interventions based on the DRPs identified. A total of 215 eligible patients with 707 visits were enrolled and recorded in the MTM software. A total of 316 DRPs (1.47 per patient) were identified. Adverse reactions, non-adherence, untreated indication, and drug interactions were the leading DRPs. 261 (82.6%) of the identified DRPs had been confirmed as resolved and 104 (78.2%) of adverse reactions were improved following pharmacist interventions and 2 to 3 course follow-up. Of the 382 planned interventions, 345 (90.3%) were accepted by patients or physicians. This is the first pharmacists-managed oncology outpatient clinic to describe the type of DRPs in neoplasm patients and evaluate the effectiveness of pharmacist interventions in China. Pharmacist interventions were efficacious in resolving DRPs and improving adverse reactions. We confirmed that pharmacists have an important role in ambulatory neoplasm patients care.

Abstract: The design of the intake port is very critical for the intake process and the other operating parameters of internal-combustion engines, and it significantly determines the overall performance of the combustion system. Traditionally, the development of the intake port was a time-consuming process which involved considerable test work and needed solid experience in relevant areas. Combining the long-time practices and understanding on this subject, a parameterized design method for the intake port design was explored by the current research group. Based on the existing three-dimensional computer-aided design software, a parameterized tangential port model was developed with six port structural parameters for establishing the structure of the intake port. In order to build the relationship between the port parameters and the performance, computational fluid dynamics numerical simulation was conducted by considering 11 different tangential ports. The results show that the performances of the tangential port could be controlled by necessary adjustments of the practical boundary conditions and the specified structure parameters. Finally, the technology was applied to the intake port design of a production diesel engine, and this proved that the proposed method can provide not only the optimized port performance but also significant savings for the design time and the working load.

Abstract: Breast cancer causes great threats to public health worldwide. The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between Ki-67 expression and the hemodynamics of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in patients with infiltrative ductal carcinoma (IDC). CEUS was performed on 109 masses in 85 IDC cases before resection. Based on the immunohistochemical staining on the antigen Ki-67, the masses were divided into negative group, weakly positive group, positive group, and strong-positive group. Significant statistical differences were noticed in time to peak, arrive intensity, and peak intensity in the positive groups compared with the negative group. Compared with the positive groups, the negative group showed significant statistical differences in arrive intensity and peak intensity. The antigen Ki-67 was positively correlated with arrived intensity, intensity changes, and rising curve's slope. In contrast, it was negatively correlated with arrived time, time to peak, and continuous time. The hemodynamic parameters of CEUS were correlated with the expression of antigen Ki-67. On this basis, Ki-67 is an effective supplement to the diagnosis of IDC.
