Abstract: The conventional Klason lignin (KL) method has some shortcomings in the determination of lignin content, such as large sample consumption, long analysis time, and a large number of errors. Therefore, a rapid and accurate method for lignin content determination was studied. In this paper, flax fibers in three forms, namely, flax raw, flax noil and flax rove, were selected for the study, and the acetyl bromide-ultraviolet spectrophotometric lignin (ABUL) method was optimized for quantitative testing of the lignin content in flax fibers. The effect of acetyl bromide concentration, perchloric acid dosage, reaction temperature, and reaction time on the absorbance value was tested systematically. The test results indicated that the maximum characteristic absorption peak of lignin in flax fiber was determined at 276 nm. The optimized reaction conditions were as follows: acetyl bromide concentration of 35%, perchloric acid dosage of 0.3 mL, reaction temperature of 70°C, and reaction time of 80 min. The standard curve of the ABUL method was y = 23.75714 x – 0.00636, R 2  = 0.99913. By comparing the lignin content of flax fiber tested by the KL method and the ABUL method, it was found that the lignin content of flax raw, flax noil, and flax rove tested by the ABUL method was higher than that of the KL method. In addition, the ABUL method has the advantages of simplicity, rapidity, accuracy, and small sample consumption compared with the KL method.

Abstract: Background. Breast carcinoma is the most common malignancy in women. Gastrointestinal metastasis is rarely found or diagnosed in patients with breast cancer. Methods. Clinicopathological features, treatment options, and prognosis were evaluated retrospectively for 22 patients with gastrointestinal metastases of breast carcinoma in Chinese women. Results. Presenting symptoms were non-specific: anorexia (21/22), epigastric pain (10/22), and vomiting (8/22), and 2 patients (2/22) presented with nonfatal hemorrhage. The first sites of metastases were skeleton (9/22), stomach (7/22), colorectal (7/22), lung (3/22), peritoneal (3/22), and liver (1/22). ER, PR, GATA binding protein 3 (GATA3), gross cystic disease fluid protein-15 (GCDFP-15), and keratin 7 can effectively confirm the diagnosis, especially in the case of keratin 20 negativity. Histology showed mainly ductal breast carcinoma (n = 11) was the predominant source of gastrointestinal metastases in this study, and lobular breast cancer (n = 9) accounted for a considerable proportion. The disease control rate to systemic therapy was 81% (17 of 21 treated patients), and the objective response rate was 10% (2 of 21 treated patients). Median overall survival was 71.5 months (range, 22-226 months), median survival for distant metastases was 23.5 months (range, 2-119 months) and the median survival for the time of gastrointestinal metastases diagnosis was 6 months (range, 2-73 months). Conclusions. Performing the endoscopy with biopsy was crucial for patients with any subtle gastrointestinal symptoms and a history of breast cancer. It is important to distinguish primary gastrointestinal carcinoma from breast metastatic carcinoma in order to select the optimal initial treatment and avoid unnecessary surgery.

Abstract: The CRTS I double-block ballastless track under the coupling effect of temperature and falling-shaft impact is more adaptable to actual operation. However, domestic and foreign research has only focused on either temperature or train loadings. In this study, the finite-element method was used to analyze the dynamic response of the double-block ballastless track structure. The results suggests that the displacement and acceleration characteristics of the ballastless track structure under different working conditions change significantly than no temperature gradient. Moreover, the vibration responses at the different working conditions under the impact excitation of a dropping wheelset show that. The findings of this study revealed that temperature has significant impact on falling-shaft which cannot be ignored, consequently it, paper provides referential information for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the CRTS I double-block ballastless track structure under with large temperature difference.

Abstract: The layout of colored yarns in yarn-dyed fabrics is a significant part of designing and production in the textile industry, which is still analyzed manually at present. Existing methods based on image processing have some limitations in accuracy and stability. Therefore, an automatic method is proposed to recognize the layout of colored yarns and some other basic fabric structure parameters: the fabric density and weave pattern. First, a large dataset with fabric structure parameters is constructed. The fabric images are captured by a wireless portable device. Then the yarns and floats are accurately located using a novel multi-task and multi-scale convolutional neural network. Finally, a density-based color clustering algorithm is proposed to recognize the layout of colored yarns. The results of extensive experiments show that the proposed method can automatically identify the basic structure parameters with high effectiveness and robustness.

Abstract: Objective fabric smoothness appearance evaluation plays an important role in the textile and apparel industry. In most previous studies, objective fabric smoothness appearance evaluation is defined as a general pattern classification problem. However, the labels in this problem exhibit a natural ordering. Nominal classification ignores the ordinal information, which may cause overfitting in model training. In addition, for the existence of subjective errors, measurement errors, manual errors, etc., the labels in the data might be noisy, which has been rarely discussed previously. This paper proposes an ordinal classification framework based on label noise estimation (OCF-LNE) to objectively evaluate the fabric smoothness appearance degree, which takes the ordinal information and noise of the label in the training data into consideration. The OCF-LNE uses the basic classifier in pre-training as a label noise estimator, and uses the estimated label noise to adjust the labels in further training. The adjusted labels can introduce the ordinal constrain implicitly and reduce the negative impact of label noise in model training. Within a 10 × 10 nested cross-validation, the proposed OCF-LNE achieves 82.86%, 94.29%, and 100% average accuracies under errors of 0, 0.5, and 1 degree, respectively. Experiments on different fabric image features and basic classification models verify the effectiveness of the OCF-LNE. In addition, the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods for fabric smoothness evaluation and ordinal classification. Promisingly, the OCF-LNE can provide novel ideas for image-based fabric smoothness evaluation.

Abstract: Weaving enterprises are faced with problems of small batches and many varieties, which leads to difficulties in manual scheduling during the production process, resulting in more delays in delivery. Therefore, an automatic scheduling method for the weaving process is proposed in this paper. Firstly, a weaving production scheduling model is established based on the conditions and requirements during actual production. By introducing flexible model constraints, the applicability of the model has been greatly expanded. Then, an improved ant colony algorithm is proposed to solve the model. To address the problem of the traditional ant colony algorithm that the optimizing process usually traps into local optimum, the proposed algorithm adopts an iterative threshold and the maximum and minimum ant colony system. In addition, the initial path pheromone distribution is formed according to the urgency of the order to balance each objective. Finally, the simulation experiments confirm that the proposed method achieves superior performance compared with manual scheduling and other automatic methods. The proposed method shows a certain guiding significance for weaving scheduling in practice.

Abstract: Student loans are popular among university in support of young people to afford tuition fees, as US change its financial aid policy from grants to loans. Thus, the efficiency in student loan market is very important for the development of higher education, especially, human capital formation in this process. To complement the centerpiece for the relationship between human capital formation, credit market and economic performance in long run, a model which is derived from Boyd and Smith 1 to explore the role of information cost in the market. This work tried to indicate the fact that, higher development in credit market reduces the information cost in student loans, which would lead to higher contribution of human capital formation to economic growth.
