Abstract: Decision-making is one of the key parts of the research on vehicle longitudinal autonomous driving. Considering the behavior of human drivers when designing autonomous driving decision-making strategies is a current research hotspot. In longitudinal autonomous driving decision-making strategies, traditional rule-based decision-making strategies are difficult to apply to complex scenarios. Current decision-making methods that use reinforcement learning and deep reinforcement learning construct reward functions designed with safety, comfort, and economy. Compared with human drivers, the obtained decision strategies still have big gaps. Focusing on the above problems, this paper uses the driver’s behavior data to design the reward function of the deep reinforcement learning algorithm through BP neural network fitting, and uses the deep reinforcement learning DQN algorithm and the DDPG algorithm to establish two driver-like longitudinal autonomous driving decision-making models. The simulation experiment compares the decision-making effect of the two models with the driver curve. The results shows that the two algorithms can realize driver-like decision-making, and the consistency of the DDPG algorithm and human driver behavior is higher than that of the DQN algorithm, the effect of the DDPG algorithm is better than the DQN algorithm.

Abstract: The study investigates the braking characteristics of heavy-load five-axle special vehicle to improve the braking safety of it. The mechanical system with strong coupling is studied by means of multi-body dynamics analysis method, and the refined vehicle dynamics model including braking system, suspension system, steering system, and other components is established via platform of Adams/Car. Through road test experiments, the accuracy and reliability of the model under conditions of 80 m constant turning radius circle and emergency braking of 60 km/h initial speed are verified. The classical ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) control strategy with logic threshold including a road recognition module and a slip ratio calculation module is established in Simulink, which matches the ABS control system of 6 S/6 M for the five-axle special vehicle well. By changing adhesion conditions of a single road and the control channel modes of the split-mu road, the control effect of the ABS control system on the braking performance of the five-axle vehicle is determined by the co-simulation. The experimental and simulation results indicate the following: (1) The vehicle dynamics model can effectively simulate the structure of the actual vehicle mechanical system and mechanical constraints, and has good braking performance and steering performance; (2) ABS external control system and heavy-load five-axle vehicle model can be matched, and during the control process, logic thresholds need to be repeatedly adjusted to adapt to different types of roads. (3) The change of road adhesion coefficient will affect the control effect of ABS. The baking performance can be improved more in low adhesion road than in high adhesion road. (4) Split-mu road is more special and has a great impact on the lateral stability of braking. It can be seen through comparative analysis of high-selection and low-selection control that braking safety is better under low selection control mode.

Abstract: A novel approach to recycling of copper and aluminum fragments in the crushed products of spent lithium iron phosphate batteries was proposed to achieve their eco-friendly processing. The model of pneumatic separation that determines the optimal airflow velocity was established using aerodynamics. The influence of the airflow velocity, and the density and thickness, and their ratios, of the aluminum and copper fragments on pneumatic separation were evaluated. The results show that the optimal airflow velocities of copper and aluminum fragments with and without the electrode materials are 3.27m/s and 1.67m/s, respectively. The accuracy and reliability of the present model was verified using a pneumatic separation experiment. It is concluded that graded pneumatic separation is unnecessary for the crushed particle size more than 9 mm. The experimentally determined optimal airflow velocity of the copper and aluminum fragments with and without the electrode materials is 3.3m/s and 1.7m/s, respectively. The mass fractions of the copper and aluminum fragments upon removal of the electrode materials after pneumatic separation are 97% and 96%, respectively, and both with the electrode material achieve 97.0%. The theoretically obtained optimal airflow velocities have good agreements with the experimentally obtained ones.

Abstract: In this paper, the caster-and-camber-based reconfiguration of the trafficability metrics of mobile robots is first discussed. The trafficability metrics of the reconfigurable mobile robots, such as the equivalent lateral and longitudinal stability margins with non-linear characteristics, can be built up using the geometrical projection approach. We next propose a modified Harmony Search method to deal with the constrained optimization problems, which is based on the direct handling of the given constraints. It is further applied to obtain the optimal configurable prototypes of a mobile robot.

Abstract: We investigated whether mean platelet volume (MPV) is independently associated with the carotid intima–media thickness (cIMT) in normotensive, euglycemic, and normolipidemic middle-aged and elderly adults. A total of 256 males and 398 females were enrolled from the Changfeng Study. Compared to male patients with MPV in the first quintile, male patients with MPV in the fifth quintile had greater cIMTs and higher prevalence of carotid plaque. After adjusting for conventional cardiovascular disease risk factors, male participants with MPV in the fifth quintile had a 1.669-fold increased risk of carotid plaques relative to those in the lowest quintiles. In female patients, the cIMTs and prevalence of carotid plaque were not significantly different among the groups. These results suggest that MPV is independently associated with carotid atherosclerosis in normotensive, euglycemic, and normolipidemic males. The MPV could be an easily measured marker of atherosclerosis for males.

Abstract: Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), a malignant mesenchymal neoplasm derived from skeletal muscle, is relatively rare in both human and veterinary medicine. Here we report an unusual case of invasive spindle-cell RMS (SCRMS) with bone infiltration and pathologic fracture in a 3.5-y-old intact female Bulldog. Radiographically, a large, predominantly osteolytic mass in the tibia and fibula of the left hindlimb had features typical of a malignant primary bone tumor. Clinically, osteosarcoma was suspected, and the leg was amputated. Histologically, the mass was composed of loosely interwoven spindle-cell fascicles; tumor cells were fusiform with cigar-shaped nuclei and abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm. The neoplastic cells were strongly immunopositive for vimentin, muscle-specific actin, desmin, myogenin, and myoD1. Invasive SCRMS with osteolysis was diagnosed based on the histologic examination and immunohistochemical (IHC) stains. The dog was alive without any evidence of local recurrence or distant metastasis 18 mo post-surgery. RMS should be included in the differential diagnosis when osteolysis occurs; IHC staining confirmation is of great value for definitive diagnosis and treatment planning.

Abstract: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) function as gene expression switches, and participate in diverse pathophysiological processes of spinal cord injury (SCI). Olfactory ensheathing cells (OECs) can alleviate pathological injury and facilitate functional recovery after SCI. However, the mechanisms by which OECs restore function are not well understood. This study aims to determine whether silencing miR-199a-5p would enhance the beneficial effects of the OECs. In this study, we measured miR-199a-5p levels in rat spinal cords with and without injury, with and without OEC transplants. Then, we transfected OECs with the sh-miR-199a-5p lentiviral vector to reduce miR-199a-5p expression and determined the effects of these OECs in SCI rats by Basso–Beattie–Bresnahan (BBB) locomotor scores, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), and histological methods. We used western blotting to measure protein levels of Slit1, Robo2, and srGAP2. Finally, we used the dual-luciferase reporter assay to assess the relationship between miR-199-5p and Slit1, Robo2, and srGAP2 expression. We found that SCI significantly increased miR-199a-5p levels ( P 〈 0.05), and OEC transplants significantly reduced miR-199a-5p expression ( P 〈 0.05). Knockdown of miR-199a-5p in OECs had a better therapeutic effect on SCI rats, indicated by higher BBB scores and fractional anisotropy values on DTI, as well as histological findings. Reducing miR-199a-5p levels in transplanted OECs markedly increased spinal cord protein levels of Slit1, Robo2, and srGAP2. Our results demonstrated that transplantation of sh-miR-199a-5p-modified OECs promoted functional recovery in SCI rats, suggesting that miR-199a-5p knockdown was more beneficial to the therapeutic effects of OEC transplants. These findings provided new insights into miRNAs-mediated therapeutic mechanisms of OECs, which helps us to develop therapeutic strategies based on miRNAs and optimize cell therapy for SCI.

Abstract: Approximately 54.8% of patients with breast abscesses discontinue breastfeeding due to the lack of adequate breastfeeding support. Research aims We aimed to (1) examine the difference in milk volume produced by healthy breasts and breasts with abscesses; and (2) to explore the changes in milk volume before and after comprehensive management. Method A prospective, consecutive series study was designed. Lactating patients ( N = 50) with breast abscesses were selected from March 2017 to November 2018. The volume and frequency of milk expression of the affected and the unaffected breast were recorded every 24 hr before and after comprehensive management. The difference in the milk volume produced by healthy breasts (control) and breasts with abscesses, as well as the milk volume produced by each breast before and after comprehensive management, was determined. Results There was a significant difference in the milk volume produced by healthy breasts and breasts with abscess before ( t = 3.016; p = .004) and after ( t = 4.336; p 〈 .001) comprehensive management. The frequency of milk expression was significantly higher after comprehensive management than before it ( z = −6.145; p 〈 .001); the milk volume produced by each side significantly increased after comprehensive management (healthy breasts: t = −4.789; p 〈 .001; breasts with abscess: t = 2.555; p = .014). Conclusion The total milk volume produced by breasts with abscesses can be less than that produced by healthy breasts. The management of abscesses by increasing the frequency of milk expression and degree of emptying can help mothers increase their milk volume.

Abstract: An immunochromatographic strip was developed for the detection of an antibody against Porcine hemagglutinating encephalomyelitis virus (PHEV). Colloidal gold–labeled rabbit anti-pig immunoglobulin G (IgG) was used as the detection reagent, and the PHEV recombinant antigens and goat anti-rabbit IgG were coated on the prototype strip and the control lines, respectively. The immunochromatographic strip was capable of specifically detecting PHEV antibodies in serum with a hemagglutination inhibition (HI) titer of 2 within 10 min. Storage of the strips at room temperature for 6 months or at 4°C for 12 months did not change their sensitivity and specificity. Using HI as a reference test, the relative specificity and sensitivity of the immunochromatographic strip were determined to be 93.41% and 98.42%, respectively. There was a strong agreement between the results obtained by HI and the immunochromatographic strips (κ = 0.926). Additionally, there was a strong agreement between enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and immunochromatographic strips (κ = 0.929). When the immunochromatographic strip was used for serological diagnosis of 1,117 serum samples in Jilin Province in China, the seropositivity ranged from 6.5% in the Liaoyuan District to 81.6% in the Changchun District. Furthermore, many piglets were seropositive to PHEV, indicating the possible transfer of maternal antibodies via the colostrum. Based on the high specificity, sensitivity, and stability of the immunochromatographic strip, it would be suitable for on-site detection of PHEV antibodies in order to monitor PHEV infections in an animal population.

Abstract: A reliable model is needed to estimate the risk of postoperative recurrence and the benefits of postoperative radiotherapy (PORT) in patients with thoracic esophageal squamous cell cancer (TESCC). Methods: The study retrospectively reviewed 3652 TESCC patients in stage IB-IVA after radical esophagectomy, with or without PORT. In one institution as the training cohort ( n = 1620), independent risk factors associated with locoregional recurrence (LRR), identified by the competing-risks regression, were used to establish a predicting nomogram, which was validated in an external cohort ( n = 1048). Area under curve (AUC) values of receiver operating characteristic curves were calculated to evaluate discrimination. Risk stratification was conducted using a decision tree analysis based on the cumulative point score of the LRR nomogram. After balancing the baseline of characteristics between treatment groups by inverse probability of treatment weighting, the effect of PORT was evaluated in each risk group. Results: Sex, age, tumor location, tumor grade, and N category were identified as independent risk factors for LRR and added into the nomogram. The AUC values were 0.638 and 0.706 in the training and validation cohorts, respectively. Three risk groups were established. For patients in the intermediate- and high-risk groups, PORT significantly improved the 5-year overall survival by 10.2% and 9.4%, respectively ( p  〈  0.05). Although PORT was significantly associated with reduced LRR in the low-risk group, overall survival was not improved. Conclusion: The nomogram can effectively estimate the individual risk of LRR, and patients in the intermediate- and high-risk groups are highly recommended to undergo PORT.
