Kurzfassung: Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells) are promising cell source for stem cell replacement strategy applied to brain injury caused by traumatic brain injury (TBI) or stroke. Neural stem cell (NSCs) derived from iPS cells could aid the reconstruction of brain tissue and the restoration of brain function. However, tracing the fate of iPS cells in the host brain is still a challenge. In our study, iPS cells were derived from skin fibroblasts using the four classic factors Oct4, Sox2, Myc, and Klf4. These iPS cells were then induced to differentiate into NSCs, which were incubated with superparamagnetic iron oxides (SPIOs) in vitro. Next, 30 TBI rat models were prepared and divided into three groups ( n = 10). One week after brain injury, group A & B rats received implantation of NSCs (labeled with SPIOs), while group C rats received implantation of non-labeled NSCs. After cell implantation, all rats underwent T2*-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan at day 1, and 1 week to 4 weeks, to track the distribution of NSCs in rats’ brains. One month after cell implantation, manganese-enhanced MRI (ME-MRI) scan was performed for all rats. In group B, diltiazem was infused during the ME-MRI scan period. We found that (1) iPS cells were successfully derived from skin fibroblasts using the four classic factors Oct4, Sox2, Myc, and Klf4, expressing typical antigens including SSEA4, Oct4, Sox2, and Nanog; (2) iPS cells were induced to differentiate into NSCs, which could express Nestin and differentiate into neural cells and glial cells; (3) NSCs were incubated with SPIOs overnight, and Prussian blue staining showed intracellular particles; (4) after cell implantation, T2*-weighted MRI scan showed these implanted NSCs could migrate to the injury area in chronological order; (5) the subsequent ME-MRI scan detected NSCs function, which could be blocked by diltiazem. In conclusion, using an in vivo MRI tracking technique to trace the fate of iPS cells-induced NSCs in host brain is feasible.

Kurzfassung: Based on piecewise quadratic Lyapunov function techniques, this paper first provides a stability condition for the uncertain piecewise discrete-time linear system, which is a feasibility problem of linear matrix inequalities. Then the control methods for uncertain piecewise discrete-time linear systems via state feedback and output feedback controllers are proposed. It is shown that both the state feedback and output feedback controllers can be obtained by solving a set of bilinear matrix inequalities. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the developed methods

Kurzfassung: Tension-type headache is *These authors contributed equally to this work. usually manifested as head pain without associated symptoms, and the validation of diagnostic criteria presented are lacking and highly required in the International Classification of Headache Disorders. The aim of the present study was to explore the diagnosis criteria of tension-type headache in a multicenter-based sample from Chongqing, China. Methods Clinical characteristics and demographics were systematically and prospectively collected between March 2014 and December 2015 from 15 participating hospitals in Chongqing, using a semi-structured face-to-face interview. All patients were asked to complete a headache diary for at least 4 weeks. Results Out of 1832 patients with headache, 150 patients (97 female/53 male, 44.56 ± 11.9 years old) were diagnosed with tension-type headache based on the standard International Classification of Headache Disorders, 3rd edition beta version, and interestingly, 114 (76%) patients were diagnosed with tension-type headache based on the alternative criteria. One patient was excluded because only two of the four characteristics were fulfilled. Thirty-five (23.3%) patients did not meet the alternative criteria because of associated symptoms, including mild nausea (n = 6), photophobia (n = 1), and phonophobia (n = 28). All patients with TTH had mild or moderate headaches, 98.0% of patients suffered from non-pulsating headaches, 99.3% of patients said their headaches were not aggravated by routine physical activity, and 77.3% of patients had bilateral headache. Conclusions Non-pulsating headaches and headaches that are not aggravated by routine physical activity may represent core criteria for screening patients with tension-type headache. Nausea might not be an exclusion feature for diagnosis of TTH, but an important criterion for screening. Further studies are needed.

Kurzfassung: The fault features of gearbox are often influenced and interwoven with each other under the non-stationary condition. The traditional shallow intelligent diagnosis models are difficult to detect and identify gearbox faults with selected features according to prior knowledge. To solve this problem, a novel deep convolutional auto-encoding neural network is designed based on the fusion of the convolutional neural network with the automatic encoder in this research. The vibration signals of gearbox are transformed into Hilbert envelope spectrum by using Hilbert transform and Fourier transform, and the different characteristics of spectral spatial data are automatically learned by convolutional auto-encoding neural network with multiple convolution kernels. The parameters of the convolutional neural network are fine-tuned through a fully connected neural network with a small number of labeled samples. Through the analysis for gearbox fault experiments, the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed method in equipment fault diagnosis are verified. The deep convolutional neural network embedded in the auto-encoder has stronger learning ability, and the diagnosis performance is more stable and reliable in practical engineering application.

Kurzfassung: How to get maximal benefit within a range of risk in securities market is a very interesting and widely concerned issue. Meanwhile, as there are many complex factors that affect securities’ activity, such as the risk and uncertainty of the benefit, it is very difficult to establish an appropriate model for investment. Aiming at solving the curse of dimension and model disaster caused by the problem, we use the approximate dynamic programming to set up a Markov decision model for the multi-time segment portfolio with transaction cost. A model-based actor-critic algorithm under uncertain environment is proposed, where the optimal value function is obtained by iteration on the basis of the constrained risk range and a limited number of funds, and the optimal investment of each period is solved by using the dynamic planning of limited number of fund ratio. The experiment indicated that the algorithm could get a stable investment, and the income could grow steadily.

Kurzfassung: A scheme to solve the course keeping problem of the unmanned surface vehicle with nonlinear and uncertain characteristics and unknown external disturbances is investigated in this article. The chattering existing in global fast terminal sliding mode controller in solving the course keeping problem of the unmanned surface vehicle with external disturbance is analyzed. To reduce the chattering and eliminate the influence of the unknown disturbance, an adaptive global fast terminal sliding mode controller based on radial basis function neural network is developed. The equivalent control that usually requires a precise model information of the system is computed using the radial basis function neural network. The weights of the neural network are online adjusted according to the adaptive law that is derived using Lyapunov method to ensure the stability of the closed-loop system. Using the online learning of the neural network, the nonlinear uncertainty of the system and the unknown disturbance of external environment are compensated, and the system chattering is reduced effectively as well. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed controller can achieve a good performance regarding the fast response and smooth control.

Kurzfassung: Methylation of lysines on histones, controlled by various methyltransferases and demethylases, is an important component of epigenetic modifications, and abnormal regulation of such enzymes serves as common events in hepatocellular carcinoma. We determined to identify important methyltransferases and demethylases that might regulate the development of hepatocellular carcinoma by bioinformatics. Methods: The Oncomine and UALCAN databases were used to retrieve mRNA expression levels of histone lysine methyltransferases and demethylases in hepatocellular carcinoma. Data analyses of genetic alterations, mainly mutations and copy number alterations, were performed on the cBioportal platform. Protein-protein interactions were established in the STRING database. Results: mRNA expression of 8 genes correlated with clinical staging and grading, whereas 4 genes indicated a role in the prognosis, all co-expressed with SEDB1 and WHSC1. Genetically, 12 genes showing an alteration rate higher than 5% were identified, and only 3 were indicative of prognosis. Copy number gains in ASH1L, SETDB1, and KDM5B might partially contribute to the upregulation of their mRNA expression. The close relationship of mutations in MLL2/MLL3 with driver gene mutations in hepatocellular carcinoma provided a rationale for further investigation. Conclusions: We identified 11 methyltransferases and demethylases for major histone lysines that might be promising research targets in the pathogenesis, development, and prediction of prognosis in hepatocellular carcinoma using bioinformatics.

Kurzfassung: Aroma style is a complex but critical sensory indicator of flue-cured tobacco. Near infrared spectroscopy was used to investigate the aroma style of flue-cured tobacco. A model screening-sensory validation strategy is herein proposed to overcome obstacles such as the subjectivity of sensory evaluation. Samples with exemplary styles and consistent opinion from a panel were selected as typical samples. Only typical samples were used for modeling. Other samples (atypical samples) were predicted through the proposed model. With references to sensory evaluation, the predictive accuracy reached to 100 and 79.0% for typical and atypical samples, respectively. This method provided a new perspective to evaluate the aroma styles of flue-cured tobacco by a combination of sensory evaluation and chemical analysis.

Kurzfassung: A new superabsorbent composite based on the natural material sodium alginate (SA) was synthesized by intercalation graft polymerization of SA, acrylic acid (AA), 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propane sulfonic acid (AMPS) and organo-montmorillonite (OMMT) using ammonium persulfate (APS) as an initiator and N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) as a cross linker. The composite was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and was used to remove heavy metal ions such as Pb 2+ , Ni 2+ and Cu 2+ from aqueous solutions. Maximum adsorption capacities for Pb 2+ , Ni 2+ and Cu 2+ were 1485, 303 and 294 mg/g respectively. It was found that the adsorption of Pb 2+ was consistent with both the Langmuir and the Freundlich model, while that of Ni 2+ and Cu 2+ was in accordance with the Langmuir model. Mechanisms for the adsorption process were speculated upon. It revealed that chelation was dominant for the adsorption of Pb 2+ , while ion-exchange played an important role for adsorption of Ni 2+ and Cu 2+ . The superabsorbent composite had good reuse performance in wastewater treatment.
