PEGylated polyamidoamine dendron (PEG-D3) was used successfully to assist the encapsulation of plasmid DNA into the in situ forming supramolecular hydrogel under mild conditions. The encapsulated pDNA could exhibit a sustained release behavior and remain active to transfected cells.
