Abstract: This work presents the updated heat capacities of \(^{161-164}\)Dy nuclei in the nuclear temperature region from 0 to 1 MeV. The updated heat capacities are obtained within the canonical ensemble method making use of the most recent and recommended experimental nuclear level density (NLD) data together with those calculated within the back-shifted Fermi gas (BSFG) model with energy-dependent parameters. By comparing the updated heat capacities with the un-updated ones, which are obtained by using the old experimental NLD data and the BSFG with energy-independent parameters, we found that the updated and un-updated heat capacities are almost identical at low temperature, but differ from each others at high temperature. This discrepancy can be interpreted by the damping of nuclear shell structure with increasing the excitation energy. Besides, we observe that the S-shape in the updated heat capacities is much more pronounced in even-even Dy isotopes than in even-odd ones, whereas the un-updated heat capacities do not clearly exhibit this S-shape. Therefore, the updated heat capacities should provide a more convincing evidence for the signature of pairing phase transition in nuclear systems.

Abstract: The porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) attenuated strain Hanvet1.VN has been developed by the Pharmaceutical and Veterinary Material J.S.C (HANVET) by passaging HY-2010 strain on MARC-145 cells for 80 passages and used for PRRS vaccine production. In this study, we sequenced and analyzed the whole genome of the attenuated Hanvet1.VN strain. The total RNA was extracted from the Hanvet1.VN strain, RT-PCR was used for amplification of 15 separate segments of the whole genome. The amplified segments were cloned into the pCR2.1 vector and sequenced by Sanger sequencing. The sequences were analyzed with BioEdit and DNA Star Software. The results showed that, GP5 of the Hanvet1.VN attenuated strain had 100% identity in amino acid (aa) sequences with one of the pathogenic Vietnamese strain isolated in Quang Nam Province and had 98% identity with that of the Chinese 07NM strain. However, the identity of aa sequence of the Hanvet1.VN GP5 was much lower in the comparison with GP5 of VR2332, and it was only 87%. The MP and NP proteins were highly conserved compared with pathogenic strains circulating in Vietnam (07QN) and China (07NM) (99-100%, respectively). The other eight proteins of the Hanvet1.VN strain showed changes from 1.2% in NP1a to 3.9% in GP2 compared with the 07QN strain. However, the aa identity of all Hanvet1.VN proteins were very low when compared with proteins of PRRSV type II strain (North American strain, VR2332), ranged from 86.25% to 97.7%. Our results showed that the Hanvet1.VN attenuated vaccine strain had protective immunogenicity similar to that strain circulating in Vietnam closely related to a strain from China but different from the type II North American strain VR2332. Hence, for importing PRRSV vaccine, especially from American or Europe Countries, antigenic compatibility of the PRRSV vaccine and strains circulating in Vietnam should be concerned in PRRSV vaccine production.

Abstract: Nowadays, the black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) farming in Vietnam still have to face a lot of problems, especially in the Country’s Shrimp Broodstock Production. To overcome these problems, we need a strategy for development of domesticated stocks of P. monodon and rational breeding programs for improved growth and disease resistance. Marker-assisted selection is a procedure that has been developed to avoid these problems associated with phenotypic selection, replacing the selection of the phenotype by selection using markers linked with quantitative trait loci (QTL). Application of next generation sequencing (NGS) associated with QTL to discover important molecular markers has been applied in many laboratories. In this study, we used genome typing by sequencing (GBS) with NGS for screening the SNPs related with growth trait to create a database for father study on the black tiger shrimp fast growth selection. Based on the putative genome sequences created by de novo assembly, 2887 SNPs have been screened, among them, 1799 SNPs appeared only in the fast growth population. Among the 287 annotated contigs, the two contigs were homologous with myosin heavy chain (MHC) associated with growth trait in crustacean species, contig83953 andcontig260347 were homologous with MHCa and MHC1, respectively. The two SNPs Contig83953:g.20T 〉 C and Contig260347:g.19G 〉 A were indicated. We hope that, these results will contribute to the black tiger shrimp genome database for further study to exploit the molecular markers for black tiger shrimp breeding and selections.

Abstract: Abstract-HCTN7. Natural essential oils of plant have been applied over the world becausef these biosafety natural compounds. Applicant levels from the steaming pot among the common people to the raw essential oils or pure extract essence from original natural sources for making special products. Eucalyptus essential oil obtains from Eucalyptus leaves contain 998 mg/L α-eucalyptol, Cymbopogon essential oil obtains from lemon grasses contain 64,8% citral. These essential oils have been paid attention because of there were abundant raw materials in the Mekong Delta area. Therefore, the study was conducted to aim of extracting essential oils from Eucalyptus and Cymbopogon leaves as well as examminate their effect on mosquito repellent. The factors affecting the amount of extracted oils are the time to withered materials (0 h; 2.5 h; 5 h), how the way to preliminary treatment of the materials (crushing or without crushing), the distilled water aidding (400 mL, 500 mL, 600 mL)/300g materials, the distillation time (2 h; 2.5 h; 3 h). The data was evaluated by statistical program. Mixing ratio of Cymbopogon oil: Eucalyptus oil: coconut oil, one of the important criteria to be investigated for evaluating the ability to repel mosquitoes is in turn (40:10:50), (35:15:50), (30:20:50). Experimental results reveal that crushing (Cymbopogon), without crushing (Eucalyptus) of fresh materials, 500 mL of distilled water aidding, 3 h of distillation time were the best during the oil extraction process. The contents of mixing formula of the Cymbopogon essiential oil: Eucalyptus essiential oil: coconut oil (40: 10: 50) is the most effective with the ability to falling mosquitoes only after 5 minutes and killing 84.67% mosquitoes after 24 hours. Abstract: The attenuated porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) strain Hanvet1.vn was developed by Hanvet Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. by inoculating the virulent strain 02HYon Marc-145 cells for 80 generations and used to produce PRRS vaccine. In this study, we published the results of sequencing, analyzing and comparing the genome of the attenuated PRRSV strain Hanvet1.vn compared with the original pathogenic strain 02HY. The genomes of strains Hanvet1.vn and 02HY have 8 reading frames, coding for 8 non-structural and structural proteins: NSP1a, NSP1b, GP2, GP3, GP4, GP5, MP, NP. After sequencing and translating into proteins, the gene sequence of each open reading frame (ORF) of strain Hanvet1.vn was compared with the sequence of pathogenic strain 02HY to find nucleotide and amino acid changes. The results showed that the Hanvet1.vn pathogenic strain genome (Genbank Accession KU842720) when compared with the pathogenic strain 02HY genome (Submission2490633) had89 nucleotide mutations that changed 51 amino acids in 7 ORFs and 7 proteins, respectively. Particularly, ORF6 encoding for the M protein is completely unchanged. The size of each reading frame is also exactly the same. It showed that there were no insertion and deletion (Indel) mutations in the ORFs of the attenuated strain after 80 generations of inoculation. There was a change in the genome that made the strain Hanvet1.vn become attenuated, but the gene encoding for the GP5 protein that induces the production of neutralizing antibodies only changed two nucleotides at position 471 (A- 〉 G), causing the TCA codon to turn into a TCG codon. This is a silent mutation and both codons code for the amino acid Serine (S). The second mutation at position 587 (A- 〉 T) causes Glutamine (Q) to transform into Leucine (L). However, this modification does not belong to the GP5 antigenic epitopes. In clonclusion, after 80 passages, despite changes occurred in genes of Hanvet1.vn strain for becoming an attenuated strain, the GP5 protein of the attenuated strain did not change its antigenic amino acids.

Abstract: ABSTRACT – QMFS 2019The functional food development by adding probiotic bacteria is getting a lot of concern. In this study, Bifidobacterium bifidum AS 1.1886 was encapsulated in calcium-alginate 2% w/v (C sample) or the mix of calcium-alginate 2% (w/v) and whey protein 1% (w/v) (CW sample) or calcium-alginate 2% (w/v) coated by whey protein 1% (w/v) (CcW sample) by extrusion method, and added to mayonnaise product. The pH changes, the survival rate of probiotic bacteria, and total yeast and mold count during storage, as well as the probiotic survival in simulated gastric medium, were evaluated. The result showed that the pH changes were not significantly different in all mayonnaise samples in this test. The viability of the free probiotic cell was significant decrease about 5.85 log CFU/g compared to 0.26 ÷ 1.14 log CFU/g in encapsulated cell samples after four weeks of storage. None of the free cells survived after six weeks of storage. The total yeast and mold count in samples related to the probiotic count, the viability of probiotic cells higher 6 log CFU/g might be controlling the growth of yeast and molds in mayonnaise. Whey protein has been shown to significantly improve the survival rate of B.bifidum and calcium-alginate coated by whey protein, indicating the most effective protection. The result showed that the application potential of encapsulated probiotic in mayonnaise product.

Abstract: Lactobacillus sp. in the digestive tract are capable of producing H2O2 to inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria and balance the gut microflora. In this study, we have isolated 115 strains of Lactobacillus spp. from stool samples of healthy people in Ha Noi. Of the 50 tested Lactobacillus strains, 9 strains were capable of producing H2O2, of which the Lac.VFE-14 strain produced highly H2O2 with a concentration of 2.183 mM, followed by Lac.VFE-08 strains (2.081 mM) and Lac.VFE-04 (2.067 mM). All three strains grew well in MRS medium supplemented with bile salts or adjusted to low pH value. With 0.3% of bile salt, the survival rates of these 3 strains were 99%, 95% and 97%, respectively. At pH 3.0, after 3 hours of cultivation, the survival rates of the three strains were 98.54%, 94.15% and 95.27%, respectively. In addition, each of the cell-free culture supernatants of these three strains that inhibit the growth of S. aureus ATCC-23235. The inhibition zone diameters of the three strains were 19.0±1.0 mm, 14.0±1.0 mm and 11.7±1.3 mm, respectively. The results of 16S rRNA gene analyses showed that Lac.VFE-14, Lac.VFE-08 and Lac.VFE-04 had high similarity scores with L. plantarum ZZU 23 (100%), L. rhamnosus JCM 1136 (99%) and L. plantarum S7 (98.65%), respectively. This study indicates that all three strains have the potential to be used as probiotics in the future.
