    Abstract: An oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is the key half reaction of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs), and is highly dependent on Pt-based nanocrystals as core electrocatalysts. Despite the exceptional ORR activity from adjusting the electronic structures of surface or near-surface atoms, several serious issues, including the corrosion of carbon supports, the preferential leaching of active metal elements, the instability of surface low-coordinated atoms and the sintering/agglomeration of nanocrystals, still exist, challenging the ORR durability of developed Pt-based ORR catalysts. From the point of view of the catalyst structure design, in this review, we summarized the state-of-the-art structural regulation strategies for improving the ORR durability of Pt-based catalysts. The current limitation of Pt-based binary catalysts for ORR electrocatalysis is firstly discussed, and the detailed strategies are further classified into the optimization of supports, metal-doped alloys, core/shell structures, intermetallics and high-entropy alloys, etc. The structure–performance relationship is detailedly explained, especially emphasizing the elimination of the above restrictions. Finally, the existing challenges and future research direction are further presented, aiming at practicing the PEMFC devices of the ultradurable Pt-based catalysts.

    Abstract: In this paper, robust H∞ control for fractional-order switched systems (FOSSs) with uncertainty is studied. Firstly, the fractional-order switching law for FOSSs is proposed. Then, H∞ control for FOSSs is proven based on the switching law and linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Moreover, H∞ control for FOSSs with a state feedback controller is extended. Furthermore, the LMI-based condition of robust H∞ control for FOSSs with uncertainty is proven. Furthermore, the condition of robust H∞ control is proposed to design the state feedback controller. Finally, four simulation examples verified the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

    Abstract: Yin Yang 1 (YY1) is a well-known transcription factor that controls the expression of many genes and plays an important role in the occurrence and development of various cancers. We previously found that the human males absent on the first (MOF)-containing histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complex may be involved in regulating YY1 transcriptional activity; however, the precise interaction between MOF-HAT and YY1, as well as whether the acetylation activity of MOF impacts the function of YY1, has not been reported. Here, we present evidence that the MOF-containing male-specific lethal (MSL) HAT complex regulates YY1 stability and transcriptional activity in an acetylation-dependent manner. First, the MOF/MSL HAT complex was bound to and acetylated YY1, and this acetylation further promoted the ubiquitin–proteasome degradation pathway of YY1. The MOF-mediated degradation of YY1 was mainly related to the 146–270 amino acid residues of YY1. Further research clarified that acetylation-mediated ubiquitin degradation of YY1 mainly occurred through lysine 183. A mutation at the YY1K183 site was sufficient to alter the expression level of p53-mediated downstream target genes, such as CDKN1A (encoding p21), and it also suppressed the transactivation of YY1 on CDC6. Furthermore, a YY1K183R mutant and MOF remarkably antagonized the clone-forming ability of HCT116 and SW480 cells facilitated by YY1, suggesting that the acetylation–ubiquitin mode of YY1 plays an important role in tumor cell proliferation. These data may provide new strategies for the development of therapeutic drugs for tumors with high expression of YY1.

    Abstract: This paper aims to better predict highly skewed auto insurance claims by combining candidate predictions. We analyze a version of the Kangaroo Auto Insurance company data and study the effects of combining different methods using five measures of prediction accuracy. The results show the following. First, when there is an outstanding (in terms of Gini Index) prediction among the candidates, the “forecast combination puzzle” phenomenon disappears. The simple average method performs much worse than the more sophisticated model combination methods, indicating that combining different methods could help us avoid performance degradation. Second, the choice of the prediction accuracy measure is crucial in defining the best candidate prediction for “low frequency and high severity” (LFHS) data. For example, mean square error (MSE) does not distinguish well between model combination methods, as the values are close. Third, the performances of different model combination methods can differ drastically. We propose using a new model combination method, named ARM-Tweedie, for such LFHS data; it benefits from an optimal rate of convergence and exhibits a desirable performance in several measures for the Kangaroo data. Fourth, overall, model combination methods improve the prediction accuracy for auto insurance claim costs. In particular, Adaptive Regression by Mixing (ARM), ARM-Tweedie, and constrained Linear Regression can improve forecast performance when there are only weak learners or when no dominant learner exists.

    Abstract: In this paper, eight new galaxamide analogues (Z-1~Z-8) were synthesized and evaluated for their cytotoxic activities against five cancer cell lines, MCF-7, MD-MBA-231, HepG2, Hela, and A549, using MTT assays. The modified analogue Z-6 displayed broad spectrum cytotoxic activity toward each tested cell line with IC50 values of 1.65 ± 0.30 (MCF-7), 2.91 ± 0.17 (HepG2), 4.59 ± 0.27 (MD-MBA-231), 5.69 ± 0.37 (Hela), and 5.96 ± 0.41 (A549) μg/mL, respectively. The galaxamides Z-3 and Z-6 induced concentration-dependent apoptosis of the MCF-7 cells after 72 h as evaluated by the flow cytometry experiment. The results showed that these compounds could induce MCF-7 cell apoptosis by arresting the G0/G1 phase of the cell cycle and finally achieving the effect of inhibiting the proliferation of MCF-7 cells.

    Abstract: This work demonstrated color-conversion layers of red and green quantum dots color filter for full-color display arrays. Ligands exchange using (3-glycidyloxypropyl) trimethoxysilane with epoxy functional groups to treat QDs in the liquid phase was performed for photolithography use. The combination of ligands of QDs with photo-initiator played a protective role on QDs. Moreover, the pixel size of green QDCF can be reduced to 50 μm, and a high optical density (OD) of 1.2 is realized.

    Abstract: Alkali metals, as ideal electron donors, can effectively regulate the valence state distribution of the host metals. Nevertheless, no studies have reported the application of alkali metal promoters in the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Here, we designed an efficient and wide pH-universal hydrogen evolution catalyst that utilizes alkali metal to control the valence, size, and dispersion of Ru NPs. The experimental results reveal that the alkali metal additives contribute to the dispersion and stabilization of metallic Ru. More importantly, the interaction between Na and Ru regulates the distribution of Ru valence states and helps to form more active components of Ru0. Additionally, NaCl functioned as an in situ template to assist the construction of a porous carbon skeleton promotes mass transfer and exposes more active sites, further promoting the synergistic effect of Ru and Na. As a result, the optimal Ru0.3/C−800 delivers high efficiency for HER with an overpotential as low as 29 mV in 1.0 M KOH and 83 mV in 0.5 M H2SO4 under 10 mA cm−2. Particularly, the catalytic performance of Ru0.3/C−800 even outbalanced that of commercial Pt/C in an alkaline medium. This rational construction strategy opens up new avenues for obtaining superior pH-universal electrocatalysts.

    Abstract: In view of the problems of the inability to continuously adjust the seeding rate, small adjustment range, and low precision of the rice direct seed-metering device, a variable capacity roller-wheel seed-metering device was designed, fabricated, and verified. With the variable capacity method, the seeding rate could be adjusted steplessly and with high precision through the seeding rate adjusting mechanism. Meanwhile, theoretical analysis and parametric design of the critical components, such as the seeding wheel and the seeding rate adjusting mechanism, were carried out. The rotation speed of the seed-metering device, the sphericity of rice seeds, and the adjustment depth were selected as the main influencing factors of the experiment. Then, the full-factor experiment was conducted, and the results of the bench validation experiments showed that the average seeds per hill error of the seed-metering device could be controlled within 2%. Meanwhile, the seed-metering device performed the best when the rotation speed of the seed meter device was 30 r/min, the sphericity of rice seeds was 52.7%, and the hole depth was 6 mm. Compared to the conventional mechanical precision seed-metering device, the designed seed-metering device offered better seeding performance. The research results provide theoretical and practical references for the design of a rice seed-metering device and the development of precision agriculture.
