Abstract: Ecosystem services (ESs) are essential for human society, and maintaining harmony between ecosystems and humanity to mitigate ES degradation is the fundamental basis for achieving a sustainable state. However, due to the influence of land use and land cover (LULC) and other ecological-economic factors, the quality and capacity of ESs supporting human welfare continue to decline, and the specific processes involved in this decline are still unclear. In this paper, a dynamically reconstructed assessment model was designed based on the equivalent factor method to estimate the Ecosystem service value (ESV) and to reveal its spatiotemporal response to LULC in a hilly area located in the Economic Circle of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei during the period from 2000 to 2020; the structural equation model was also used to detect the detailed contribution of ecological-economic factors on ESV. Results showed that due to the decrease in forest land and the sprawl of orchard and construction land between 2000 and 2020, the spatial richness of various ecosystem services reduced, resulting in a decline in the total value of regional ecosystem services. The interaction of LULC, ecological and economic factors increased the regional heterogeneity of ESV. LULC caused a significantly direct impact on ESV (0.543), while economic factors had a negative direct impact on ESV (−0.26). Moreover, terrain factors affected the ESV through LULC and meteorological factors (0.259). The results of this study enrich our understanding of the detailed spatiotemporal variation and driving factors underlying the diminishing ESV in a rapidly developing hilly area, which has substantial guiding implications for land planning and ecosystem protection policies.

Abstract: Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent form of cell death, which is reported to be associated with glioma progression and drug sensitivity. Targeting ferroptosis is a potential therapeutic approach for glioma. However, the molecular mechanism of glioma cell ferroptosis is not clear. In this study, we profile the change of 3D chromatin structure in glioblastoma ferroptosis by using HiChIP and study the 3D gene regulation network in glioblastoma ferroptosis. A combination of an analysis of HiChIP and RNA-seq data suggests that change of chromatin loops mediated by 3D chromatin structure regulates gene expressions in glioblastoma ferroptosis. Genes that are regulated by 3D chromatin structures include genes that were reported to function in ferroptosis, like HDM2 and TXNRD1. We propose a new regulatory mechanism governing glioblastoma cell ferroptosis by 3D chromatin structure.

Abstract: Sintering additives are commonly used to reduce the conditions required for densification in composite ceramics without compromising their performances simultaneously. Herein, SiC/SiCw-Y2O3 composite ceramics with 10 vol.% SiC whiskers (SiCw) and different Y2O3 contents (0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10 vol.%) were fabricated by hot-pressed sintering at 1800 °C, and the effects of Y2O3 content on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and tribological behaviors were investigated. It was found that the increased Y2O3 content can promote the densification of SiC/SiCw-Y2O3 composite ceramics, as evidenced by compact microstructure and increased relative density. The Vickers hardness, fracture toughness, and flexural strength also increased when Y2O3 content increased from 2.5 vol.% to 7.5 vol.%. However, excessive Y2O3 (10 vol.%) aggregated around SiC and SiCw weakens its positive effect. Furthermore, the Y2O3 additive also reduces the coefficient of friction (COF) of SiC/SiCw-Y2O3 composite ceramics, the higher the Y2O3 content, the lower the COF. The wear resistance of SiC/SiCw-Y2O3 composite ceramics is strongly affected by their microstructure and mechanical properties, and as-sintered SiC ceramic with 7.5 vol.% Y2O3 (Y075) shows the optimal wear resistance. The relative density, Vickers hardness, fracture toughness, and flexural strength of Y075 are 97.0%, 21.6 GPa, 7.7 MPa · m1/2, and 573.2 MPa, respectively, the specific wear rate of Y075 is 11.8% of that for its competitor with 2.5 vol.% Y2O3.

Abstract: Control loop performance assessment (CPA) is essential in the operation of industrial systems. In this paper, the shortcomings of existing performance assessment methods and indicators are summarized firstly, and a novel evaluation method based on generalized correntropy criterion (GCC) is proposed to evaluate the performance of non-Gaussian stochastic systems. This criterion could characterize the statistical properties of non-Gaussian random variables more fully, so it can be directly used as the assessment index. When the expected output of the given system is unknown, generalized correntropy is used to describe the similarity of two random variables in the joint space neighborhood controlled and take it as the criterion function of the identification algorithms. To estimate the performance benchmark more quickly and accurately, a hybrid-EDA (H-EDA) combined with the idea of “wading across the stream algorithm” is proposed to obtain the system parameters and disturbance noise PDF. Through the simulation of a single loop feedback control system under different noise disturbances, the effectiveness of the improved algorithm and new indexes are verified.

Abstract: Until now, Streptoverticillium mobaraense transglutaminase (TG) is the only commercialized TG, but limited information is known about its selection tendency on crosslinking sites at the protein level, restricting its application in the food industry. Here, four recombinant Bacillus TGs were stable in a broad range of pH (5.0–9.0) and temperatures ( 〈 50 °C), exhibiting their maximum activity at 50–60 °C and pH 6.0–7.0. Among them, TG of B. cereus (BCETG) demonstrated the maximal specific activity of 177 U/mg. A structural analysis indicated that the Ala147-Ala156 region in the substrate tunnel of BCETG played a vital role in catalytic activity. Furthermore, bovine serum albumin, as well as nearly all protein ingredients in soy protein isolate and whey protein, could be cross-linked by BCETG, and the internal crosslinking paths of three protein substrates were elucidated. This study demonstrated Bacillus TGs are a candidate for protein crosslinking and provided their crosslinking mechanism at the protein level for applications in food processing.

Abstract: Copper-coated graphite and copper mixture powders were deposited on AZ31B magnesium alloy and 6061 T6 aluminum alloy substrates under different process parameters by a solid-state cold spray technique. The microstructure of the copper-coated graphite and copper composite coatings was visually examined using photographs taken with an optical microscope and a scanning electron microscope. The surface roughness of the coatings was investigated with a 3D profilometer. The thickness of the coatings was determined through the analysis of the microstructure images, while the adhesion of the coatings was characterized using the scratch test method. The results indicate that the surface roughness of the coatings sprayed on the two different substrates gradually decreases as gas temperature and gas pressure increase. Additionally, the thickness and adhesion of the coatings deposited on the two different substrates both increase with an increase in gas temperature and gas pressure. Comparing the surface roughness, thickness, and adhesion of the coatings deposited on the two different substrates, the surface roughness and adhesion of the coatings on the soft substrate are greater than those of the coatings on the hard substrate, while the thickness of the coatings is not obviously affected by the hardness of the substrate. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that the surface roughness, thickness, and adhesion of the copper-coated graphite and copper composite coatings sprayed on the two different substrates exhibit a distinct linear relationship with particle velocity.

Abstract: Based on previous researches, we further investigated the multi-silique trait in rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) line zws-ms. In this study, we used a relatively comprehensive list of flowering related genes in rapeseed and compared them between zws-ms and its near-isogenic line (NIL) zws-217. Genes were studied on genome, transcriptome and proteome levels and then we focused on genes with non-synonymous single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) or frame-shift insertion-deletion (InDel), finding some genes on the list which changes their sequences. Then, combined with their annotation and the information of their orthologs, certain genes such as BnaA09g05900D, ortholog of AGAMOUS-LIKE 42 (AGL42), which encodes an MADS-box protein, were assumed as probably responsible for the multi-silique trait. Also, we analyzed the Differentially Accumulated Proteins (DAPs) between zws-ms and zws-217, revealing some genes involved in homologous recombination and mismatch repair pathways. Since the development of flowers/siliques is crucial to crops and it influences the yield of rapeseed, this study paved a way to deeply understand the mechanism of the multi-pistil flower formation, which may facilitate researches on rapeseed production in future.

Abstract: As wind shear increases, the quasi-two-dimensional structure of flows becomes more significant in the convective boundary layer (CBL), indicating that wind shear plays an essential role in the variation of the field of atmospheric flow. Therefore, sensitive numerical experiments based on Large Eddy Simulation (LES) techniques were conducted to comprehensively investigate the effects of wind shear on the spatial variations in the velocity and potential temperature (θ) horizontal fields. Under the constant surface heat flux condition, the main findings are summarized. Firstly, in the CBL, the variances of the streamwise velocity (u), cross-stream velocity (v), and θ enhance as wind shear increases, whereas the variance of vertical velocity (w) is insensitive to wind shear. Secondly, in the CBL, with increasing wind shear, low-wavenumber Power Spectrum Densities (PSDs) of u, v, w, and θ increase significantly, suggesting that the increasing wind shear always enhances the large-scale motions of the atmosphere (i.e., low-wavenumber PSD). Therefore, it is more likely that some mesoscale weather processes will be triggered. Thirdly, generally, in the high-wavenumber range, with increasing wind shear, the PSDs of u, v, and θ increase slightly, whereas the PSD of w decreases slightly. This study provides a new perspective for understanding the role of wind shear in the spatial variations of the horizontal fields of meteorological elements under the same conditions of surface heat flux.

Abstract: With the rapid development of Internet technology, the social network has gradually become an indispensable platform for users to release information, obtain information, and share information. Users are not only receivers of information, but also publishers and disseminators of information. How to select a certain number of users to use their influence to achieve the maximum dissemination of information has become a hot topic at home and abroad. Rapid and accurate identification of influential nodes in the network is of great practical significance, such as the rapid dissemination, suppression of social network information, and the smooth operation of the network. Therefore, from the perspective of improving computational accuracy and efficiency, we propose an influential node identification method based on effective distance, named KDEC. By quantifying the effective distance between nodes and combining the position of the node in the network and its local structure, the influence of the node in the network is obtained, which is used as an indicator to evaluate the influence of the node. Through experimental analysis of a lot of real-world networks, the results show that the method can quickly and accurately identify the influential nodes in the network, and is better than some classical algorithms and some recently proposed algorithms.
