    Abstract: Quarter wave defects often occur in high-strength steel production in wide rolling mills, which seriously affect product quality and production stability. The existing shape control actuators, such as roll bending, roll shifting, and CVC roll shape, can not adjust the high-order wave, and the upgraded CVCplus roll shape also has limited effects on the quarter wave. Therefore, the MVCplus roll shape is developed based on the superposition principle in order to realize the local roll shape modification at the wave position. Two cosine curves are superposed on the CVC roll shape within the strip width to decrease the reduction at the quarter of the strip width, and maximum reduction is achieved at the position of maximum wave height. The new roll shape can significantly reduce the quarter wave defects in practical application, and has little effect on the adjustment characteristics of the original CVC roll shape.

    Abstract: We study quantum interference effects on Josephson current in T-shaped double quantum dots (TDQDs) with one of them (the central dot) is sandwiched between the left and right topological superconductor nanowires hosting Majorana bound states (MBSs). We find that the current’s magnitude is suppressed by the inter-dot coupling that induces the quantum interference effect, with unchanged jump in the current at particular phase difference between the two nanowires from which the Josephson effect arises. The current remains as a sinusoidal function with respective to the phase difference in the presence of quantum interference effect, but with significant reduction. The central broad peak in the curve of the Josephson current versus the QDs’ levels are split in different ways depending on the configurations of the latter. We also find that the impacts of the non-z-axial direction magnetic field, bending angle between the two nanowires and the direct hybridization amplitude between the MBSs on the current all depend on the arrangement of the QDs’ energy levels.

    Abstract: The Great Hinggan Range (GHR) hosts many large Mo deposits and vein-type Pb-Zn deposits and is one of the most important polymetallic metallogenic belts in China. Although Mo and Pb-Zn deposits are locally closely related in space in the GHR, it is disputed whether the Mo and Pb-Zn deposits have a genetic relationship. The Diyanqinamu Mo deposit located at the middle part of the northern GHR is a Late Jurassic large porphyry Mo deposit and closely adjacent by vein-type Pb-Zn deposit. In this work, we discussed the relationship between Mo and Pb-Zn deposits in Diyanqinamu mine based on the data of S and Pb isotopic geochemistry and geological information. In this mine, the Mo deposit is concentrated in the southern area with a distance of 500 m to the vein Pb-Zn deposit. The δ34SCDT values of the galena and sphalerite from the Mo deposit range from +1.73‰ to +7.29‰ with average of +5.04‰. By contrast, δ34SCDT values of the galena and sphalerite from the Pb-Zn deposit, ranging from +2.38‰ to +5.46‰ with average of +4.04‰, is similar to that of the Mo deposit. The formation temperatures of the Pb-Zn deposit calculated based on the sulfur isotope balance fractionation between sphalerite and co-existed galena range from 220 °C to 315 °C (average 247 °C), which is lower than that of the Mo mineralization (292–510°C). Pb isotopic results show that the 206Pb/204Pb, 207Pb/204Pb, and 208Pb/204Pb values of the Pb-Zn deposit range from 18.326–18.364, 15.541–15.589, and 38.054–38.214, respectively, which are slightly higher than those of the Mo deposit ranging from 18.287–18.331, 15.532–15.569, and 38.034–38.139, respectively. In the 206Pb/204Pb˗207Pb/204Pb diagram, sulfides sampled from the Mo and Pb-Zn deposits overlapped with each other and formed a linear distribution, indicating that they are derived from a mixed metal source with more external contribution to the Pb-Zn mineralization. This mixed signal is further confirmed by the geologic facts that the host rocks of the vein-type Pb-Zn deposit have abnormally high contents of Pb, Zn, and Ag, and experienced strong hydrothermal alteration. Combined with the ore geology, mineral assemblage, and isotopic geochemistry of the two types of mineralization, we propose that the Mo and Pb-Zn deposits in the Diyanqinamu mine represent different faces of the same porphyry system. This Mo-Pb-Zn metallogenic system would provide important clues on further prospecting of Mo and Pb-Zn resources in the GHR.

    Abstract: Deoxynivalenol (DON) is a common environmental toxin that is secreted by fusarium fungi that frequently contaminates feedstuff and food. While the detrimental effects of DON on human and animal reproductive systems have been well recognized, the underlying mechanism remains poorly understood. Ovarian granulosa cells (GCs), which surround oocytes, are crucial for regulating oocyte development, mainly through the secretion of hormones such as estrogen and progesterone. Using an in vitro model of murine GCs, we characterized the cytotoxic effects of DON and profiled genome-wide chromatin accessibility and transcriptomic alterations after DON exposure. Our results suggest that DON can induce decreased viability and growth, increased apoptosis rate, and disrupted hormone secretion. In total, 2533 differentially accessible loci and 2675 differentially expressed genes were identified that were associated with Hippo, Wnt, steroid biosynthesis, sulfur metabolism, and inflammation-related pathways. DON-induced genes usually have a concurrently increased occupancy of active histone modifications H3K4me3 and H3K27ac in their promoters. Integrative analyses identified 35 putative directly affected genes including Adrb2 and Fshr, which are key regulators of follicular growth, and revealed that regions with increased chromatin accessibility are enriched with the binding motifs for NR5A1 and NR5A2, which are important for GCs. Moreover, DON-induced inflammatory response is due to the activation of the NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathways. Overall, our results provide novel insights into the regulatory elements, genes, and key pathways underlying the response of ovarian GCs to DON cytotoxicity.

    Abstract: Melatonin is an important endogenous hormone that shows antioxidant functions and pleiotropic effects, playing a crucial role in animal reproduction. Ovary granulosa cells (GCs) surround the oocyte, which play an important role in regulating oocytes development. Deoxynivalenol (DON) is a common fusarium mycotoxin contaminant of feedstuff and food, posing a serious threat to human and animal reproductive systems. Herein, murine ovary GCs were studied as a reproduction cell model, aimed to assess the protective effect of melatonin on DON-induced toxicity in murine ovary GCs. The results showed that DON adversely affected the viability and growth of murine ovary GCs and increased the apoptosis rate, while melatonin administration ameliorated these toxic effects. We further reveal that DON exposure increased the intracellular reactive oxygen species level, reduced the mitochondrial membrane potential and ATP, and upregulated Tnfα (tumor necrosis factor α), Il6 (interleukin 6), and Il1β (interleukin 1 β) gene expression. Moreover, DON exposure downregulated reproductive hormone gene expression and significantly increased nuclear factor kappa B (p65) activation and mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphorylation. Melatonin treatment attenuated all these effects, suggesting that melatonin protects GCs from the adverse effects of DON by ameliorating oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and inflammation. Overall, these results reveal the mechanisms of DON and melatonin in GCs and provide a theoretical basis for melatonin as a drug to improve mycotoxin contamination.

    Abstract: Campylobacter is among the four main causes of gastroenteritis worldwide. Most reported Campylobacter infections are caused by C. jejuni and C. coli. However, other emerging Campylobacter pathogens have been recognized as important pathogens in humans and animals. A novel bacterial strain, PS10T, was isolated from the gastric mucous of pigs in 2022 in Beijing, China. The cell was Gram-negative, microaerobic, motile, and negative for catalase, oxidase, and urease. Phylogenetic and phylogenomic analyses based on the 16S rRNA gene and core genome indicated that this isolate belongs to the genus Campylobacter. There were low dDDH relatedness and ANI values shared within this strain and its closest species C. mucosalis below the cut-off values generally recognized for isolates of the same species. The draft genome size of PS10T is 2,240,910 bp in length with a percentage of DNA G+C contents of 37.72%. Comparing the phenotypic and phylogenetic features among this isolate and its related organisms, strain PS10T represents a novel species within the genus Campylobacter, for which the name Campylobacter gastrosuis sp. nov. (Type strain PS10T = GDMCC 1.3686T = JCM 35849T) is proposed.
