    Abstract: The pre-Jurassic in the north depression of the Tuha depression is the most favorable replacement strata to obtain new reserves in the Turpan–Hami Basin. (Pre-Jurassic, in this paper, refers to the Permian and Triassic.) The main source rocks are the Taodonggou Group, of which the burial history and hydrocarbon generation potential remain unconfirmed. The investigation of the burial and thermal history is vital for the basin analysis and hydrocarbon exploration. Therefore, in this paper, by using the acoustic time difference method, vitrinite reflectance method, stratigraphic trend method and PetroMod-1D software, the differential characteristics of denudation thickness, burial history and thermal evolution history of different tectonic units in different periods of Taibei Sag in the Turpan–Hami basin are studied, and their influence on the petroleum system is analyzed, and then the zones with exploration potential are optimized. The results show that the Taibei Sag has experienced multiple tectonic uplift events. The Late Indosinian movement has profound effects on the Taodonggou Group source rocks. The rather large uplift amplitude postpones the maturation of source rocks. In addition, the Turpan–Hami Basin is a typical cold basin. Therefore, the thermal maturity of the source rocks is relatively low, with respect to the relatively deep burial. The thermal histories of the different sub-sags in the study area are slightly differentiated from each other. The Taodonggou Group source rocks in the Taibei Sag generally became mature during the Mid–Late Jurassic epoch, except for those in the Central–Southern Shanbei sub-sag, represented by Well LT-1, which reached the mature stage during the Late Triassic epoch. The study area has well-developed reservoir rocks, and effective reservoir bodies are formed in the slope zone and near the Tainan Sag, due to the higher porosity and permeability of reservoir rocks. The statistics related to the faults and an analysis of the structural styles of oil reservoirs indicate that the structural slope and anticline of the Huobei, Lianbei and Shanbei sub-sags are favorable for increasing reserves and production of hydrocarbons.

    Abstract: Asatone and isoasatone A from Asarum ichangense Cheng were determined to be defensive compounds to some insects in a previous investigation. However, the anti-insect activity mechanisms to caterpillar are still unclear. The compounds asatone and isoasatone A from A. ichangense were induced by Spodoptera litura. The anti-insect activity of asatone and isoasatone A to S. litura was further tested by weight growth rate of the insect through a diet experiment. Isoasatone A showed a more significant inhibitory effect on S. litura than asatone on the second day. The concentration of asatone was higher than isoasatone A in the second instar larvae of S. litura after 12 h on the feeding test diet. Both compounds caused mid-gut structural deformation and tissue decay as determined by mid-gut histopathology of S. litura. Furthermore, some detoxification enzyme activity were measured by relative expression levels of genes using a qPCR detecting system. Asatone inhibited the gene expression of the cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (P450s) CYP6AB14. Isoasatone A inhibited the relative expression levels of CYP321B1, CYP321A7, CYP6B47, CYP6AB14, and CYP9A39. Asatone increased the relative gene expression of the glutathione transferases (GSTs) SIGSTe1 and SIGSTo1, in contrast, isoasatone A decreased the relative gene expression of SIGSTe1 by about 33 fold. Neither compound showed an effect on acetylcholinesterase SIAce1 and SIAce2. The mechanism of anti-insect activity by both compounds could be explained by the inhibition of enzymes P450s and GSTs. The results provide new insights into the function of unique secondary metabolites asatone and isoasatone A in genus Asarum, and a new understanding of why A. ichangense is largely free of insect pests.

    Abstract: Ratooning rice is an essential rice-planting method. However, mechanical harvesting of the primary rice crop, while increasing efficiency, can negatively affect the yield of ratooning rice. Therefore, it is crucial to find ways to improve the grain yield of ratooning rice after the mechanical harvest of the primary rice. A two-year field experiment was conducted; the grain yield of ratooning rice was assessed by stubble righting after mechanical harvesting of primary rice. The study used two popular rice cultivars, YLiangyou911 and Kenliangyou801, as experimental materials. The experimental treatments included three groups: one without righting after rolling rice stubble (CK), another with mechanized righting after rolling rice stubble (T1), and a third one without rolling rice stubble by the machine (T2). The results of the study demonstrate that stubble righting after the mechanical harvest of primary rice (T1) had a substantial impact on the grain yield of ratooning rice. It led to grain yields similar to ratooning rice without mechanical rolling of the rice stubble (T2) and significantly outperformed the treatment without stubble righting after the mechanical harvest of primary rice (CK). The study observed significant effects of the year of the experiment (Y), the treatment applied (T), and the interaction between year and treatment (Y×T) on grain yield. Additionally, the treatment showed a significant influence on the yield components. Specifically, in 2021, the T1 and T2 treatments showed remarkable grain yield increases in YLiangyou911 by 107.41% and 147.97%, respectively, compared to CK. For Kenliangyou801 in 2021, the T1 and T2 treatments also resulted in notable improvements in grain yield by 45.85% and 114.26%, respectively. Similarly, in 2022, the grain yield increased by 6.99% for T1 and 23.87% for T2 in YLiangyou911, and by 77.23% for T1 and 187.13% for T2 in Kenliangyou801, compared to CK. The study also detected enhancements in several aspects, including biomass accumulation, solar radiation and photosynthetic characteristics, antioxidant response and nitrogen metabolism, and bud-regeneration capacity due to T1 and T2 treatments. Furthermore, correlation analysis was conducted to assess the relationship between grain yield and the investigated parameters. In conclusion, stubble righting after the mechanical harvest of primary rice resulted in significantly improved grain yield for ratooning rice. This improvement can be attributed to enhanced biomass accumulation, solar radiation and photosynthetic characteristics, antioxidant response and nitrogen metabolism, and increased bud-regeneration capacity.

    Abstract: (1) Background: Sublobar resection can be used as an alternative surgical strategy for early-stage non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. However, the choice between wedge resection and segmentectomy remains contentious. In this study, we investigated the optimal surgical procedure for sublobar resection in patients with NSCLC ≤ 2 cm with a lobe-specific analysis; (2) Methods: Data for patients with T1N0M0 with a diameter of ≤2 cm who had undergone sublobar resection were retrieved. Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to reduce the inherent bias, and the Kaplan–Meier method and log-rank tests were used to assess the differences in survival; (3) Results: A total of 1882 patients were identified after the PSM. Patients with NSCLC ≤ 2 cm who had undergone segmentectomy showed better survival than those who had undergone wedge resection. However, when NSCLC was ≤1 cm, there was no significant difference in OS between the two groups. This demonstrated an OS advantage of segmentectomy over wedge resection for patients with NSCLC tumors of 1–2 cm (p = 0.024). Further analysis indicated that this survival benefit was only observed in patients with right upper NSCLC of 1–2 cm, but not with NSCLC in the other four lobes; (4) Conclusions: Segmentectomy showed a greater survival benefit than wedge resection only in patients with NSCLC of 1–2 cm, particularly those with primary tumors in the right upper lobe. Therefore, we propose a lobe-specific sublobar resection strategy for early-stage NSCLC patients (tumors of 1–2 cm) who cannot tolerate lobectomy.

    Abstract: As a highly productive rice, ratoon rice is widely planted worldwide, but the rolling of rice stubble in mechanical harvesting severely limits its total yield; based on this, some scholars have proposed rolled rice stubble righting machines. However, limited by the uncertainty of the field environment, the machine’s localization accuracy of the target needs to be improved. To address this problem, real-time detection of rolled rice stubble rows is a prerequisite. Therefore, this paper introduces a deep learning method for the first time to achieve this. To this end, we presented a novel approach to improve a model that is used for the simplification of Mask R-CNN, which does not require any modules to be added or replaced on the original model. Firstly, two branches in the second stage were deleted, and the region proposals output from the stage was used directly as the mask generation region, and segmentation performance was substantially improved after a simple optimization of the region proposals. Further, the contribution of the feature map was counted, and the backbone network was simplified accordingly. The resulting SMR-RS model was still able to perform instance segmentation and has better segmentation performance than Mask R-CNN and other state-of-the-art models while significantly reducing the average image processing time and hardware consumption.

    Abstract: In order to obtain the physiological information and key features of source images to the maximum extent, improve the visual effect and clarity of the fused image, and reduce the computation, a multi-modal medical image fusion framework based on feature reuse is proposed. The framework consists of intuitive fuzzy processing (IFP), capture image details network (CIDN), fusion, and decoding. First, the membership function of the image is redefined to remove redundant features and obtain the image with complete features. Then, inspired by DenseNet, we proposed a new encoder to capture all the medical information features in the source image. In the fusion layer, we calculate the weight of each feature graph in the required fusion coefficient according to the trajectory of the feature graph. Finally, the filtered medical information is spliced and decoded to reproduce the required fusion image. In the encoding and image reconstruction networks, the mixed loss function of cross entropy and structural similarity is adopted to greatly reduce the information loss in image fusion. To assess performance, we conducted three sets of experiments on medical images of different grayscales and colors. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has advantages not only in detail and structure recognition but also in visual features and time complexity compared with other algorithms.

    Abstract: Objectives: This retrospective cohort study investigated the clinical characteristics and seizure outcomes of patients aged 1–14 years with drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) who were treated by different typologies of therapy. Methods: Four hundred and eighteen children with DRE were recruited from Sanbo Brain Hospital of Capital Medical University from April 2008 to February 2015. The patients were divided into three groups: medication (n = 134, 32.06%), resection surgery (n = 185, 44.26%), and palliative surgery (n = 99, 23.68%) groups. Demographic characteristics were attained from medical records. All patients were followed up for at least 5 years, with seizure outcomes classified according to International League Against Epilepsy criteria. The psychological outcome was evaluated with the development quotient and Wechsler Intelligence Quotient Scale for children (Chinese version). Results: The most frequent seizure type was generalized tonic seizure in 53.83% of patients. Age at seizure onset in 54.55% of patients was 〈 3 years. The most frequent etiologies were focal cortical dysplasia (FCD). West syndrome was the most common epilepsy syndrome. Favorable seizure outcomes at the 5-year follow-up in the medication, resection surgery, and palliative surgery groups were 5.22%, 77.30%, and 14.14%, respectively. The patients showed varying degrees of improvement in terms of developmental and intellectual outcomes post-treatment. Conclusions: Pediatric patients with DRE were characterized by frequent seizures, a variety of seizure types, and complex etiology. Recurrent seizures severely affected the cognitive function and development of children. Early surgical intervention would be beneficial for seizure control and prevention of mental retardation. Palliative surgery was also a reasonable option for patients who were not suitable candidates for resection surgery.

    Abstract: The methods of complex networks have been extensively used to characterize information flow in complex systems, such as risk propagation in complex financial networks. However, network dynamics are ignored in most cases despite systems with similar topological structures exhibiting profoundly different dynamic behaviors. To observe the spatiotemporal patterns of risk propagation in complex financial networks, we combined a dynamic model with empirical networks. Our analysis revealed that hub nodes play a dominant role in risk propagation across the network and respond rapidly, thus exhibiting a degree-driven effect. The influence of key dynamic parameters, i.e., infection rate and recovery rate, was also investigated. Furthermore, the impacts of two typical characteristics of complex financial systems—the existence of community structures and frequent large fluctuations—on the spatiotemporal patterns of risk propagation were explored. About 30% of the total risk propagation flow of each community can be explained by the top 10% nodes. Thus, we can control the risk propagation flow of each community by controlling a few influential nodes in the community and, in turn, control the whole network. In extreme market states, hub nodes become more dominant, indicating better risk control.

    Abstract: Most data with a complicated structure can be represented by a tree structure. Parallel processing is essential to mining frequent subtrees from massive data in a timely manner. However, only a few algorithms could be transplanted to a parallel framework. A new parallel algorithm is proposed to mine frequent subtrees by grouping strategy (GS) and edge division strategy (EDS). The main idea of GS is dividing edges according to different intervals and then dividing subtrees consisting of the edges in different intervals to their corresponding groups. Besides, the compression stage in mining is optimized by avoiding all candidate subtrees of a compression tree, which reduces the mining time on the nodes. Load balancing can improve the performance of parallel computing. An effective EDS is proposed to achieve load balancing. EDS divides the edges with different frequencies into different intervals reasonably, which directly affects the task amount in each computing node. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can implement parallel mining, and it outperforms other compared methods on load balancing and speedup.
