Abstract: During the operation of the belt conveyor, foreign objects such as large gangue and anchor rods may be mixed into the conveyor belt, resulting in tears and fractures, which affect transportation efficiency and production safety. In this paper, we propose a lightweight target detection algorithm, GhostNet-CBAM-YOLOv4, to resolve the problem of the difficulty of detecting foreign objects at high-speed movement in an underground conveyor belt. The Kmeans++ clustering method was used to preprocess the data set to obtain the anchor box suitable for the foreign object size. The GhostNet lightweight module replaced the backbone network, reducing the model’s parameters. The CBAM attention module was introduced to enhance the ability of feature extraction facing the complex environment under the mine. The depth separable convolution was used to simplify the model structure and reduce the number of parameters and calculations. The detection accuracy of the improved method on the foreign body data set reached 99.32%, and the detection rate reached 54.7 FPS, which was 6.83% and 42.1% higher than the original YOLOv4 model, respectively. The improved method performed better than the original model on the other two datasets and could effectively avoid misdetection and omission detection. In comparison experiments with similar methods, our proposed method also demonstrated good performance, verifying its effectiveness.

Abstract: The PBL (Perfobond Leiste) shear connector has the advantages of high bearing capacity and strong constraint ability; however, the traditional PBL shear connector has strong and weak axis problems, and its stiffness is large, resulting in weak deformation ability. To this end, this paper proposes a new type of flange triple-web shear key and obtains the new shear key’s mechanical properties and failure mechanism through the push-out test. The results show that the failure mode of the new shear key is the deformation of the steel plate on the web and the edge of the opening, which has a high bearing capacity, outstanding deformation ability, and good integrity with concrete, showing obvious semi-rigid characteristics. Through numerical analysis, the effects of flange width, web height, and steel plate thickness on the mechanical properties of shear keys are obtained. Based on the fitting analysis method, the calculation formula of shear key bearing capacity is proposed. Finally, the horizontal seismic performance of the shear key is numerically simulated. It is found that the hysteretic curve of the shear key is full and shows good energy dissipation capacity.

Abstract: FY-4A is a second generation of geostationary orbiting meteorological satellite, and the successful launch of FY-4A satellite provides a new opportunity to obtain diurnal variation of land surface temperature (LST). In this paper, different underlying surfaces-observed data were applied to evaluate the applicability of the local split-window algorithm for FY-4A, and the local split-window algorithm parameters were optimized by the artificial intelligent particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to improve the accuracy of retrieved LST. Results show that the retrieved LST can efficiently reproduce the diurnal variation characteristics of LST. However, the estimated values deviate hugely from the observed values when the local split-window algorithms are directly used to process the FY-4A satellite data, and the root mean square errors (RMSEs) are approximately 6K. The accuracy of the retrieved LST cannot be effectively improved by merely modifying the emissivity-estimated model or optimizing the algorithm. Based on the measured emissivity, the RMSE of LST retrieved by the optimized local split-window algorithm is reduced to 3.45 K. The local split-window algorithm is a simple and easy retrieval approach that can quickly retrieve LST on a regional scale and promote the application of FY-4A satellite data in related fields.

Abstract: Waste engine oil (WEO) and waste polyethylene (WPE) are two common wastes, which are easy to pollute the environment. As the primary material in road construction, natural asphalt is a non-renewable energy source and asphalt is vulnerable to ultraviolet (UV) radiation during the service life. It results in degradation of asphalt pavement performance. In this paper, 2 wt % to 8 wt % of WEO and WPE were used to modify asphalts and the UV aging simulation experiment was carried out. The physical parameters of asphalts before the UV aging experiment show that the asphalt containing 4 wt % WPE and 6 wt % WEO mixture (4 wt % WPE + 6 wt % WEO) has similar physical properties with that of the matrix asphalt. Besides, gel permeation chromatography (GPC) verifies that the molecular weight distribution of the asphalt containing 4 wt % WPE + 6 wt % WEO is close to that of the matrix asphalt. The storage stability test shows that 4 wt % WPE + 6 wt % WEO has good compatibility with the matrix asphalt. The functional groups and micro-morphology of asphalts before and after the UV aging experiment were investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). FTIR results display that 4 wt % WPE + 6 wt % WEO can effectively reduce the formation of carbonyl and sulfoxide functional groups. AFM shows that 4 wt % WPE + 6 wt % WEO can also retard the formation of a “bee-like” structure in asphalt after the UV aging experiment. Based on the above results, it can be concluded that WEO and WPE mixture can replace part of asphalt and improve the UV aging resistance of asphalt.

Abstract: The three-dimensional (3D) printing of a SiO2-filled thermosetting polyimide (SiO2@TSPI) composite with outstanding performance is realized via the direct ink writing (DIW) of polyamide acid (PAA) composite ink and thermal treatment conducted thereafter. The composite ink consists of phenylethynyl-terminated PAA and silica nanoparticles, where the SiO2 nanoparticles serve as the rheology modifier that is necessary for the DIW technique to obtain self-supporting feedstock during 3D printing and the reinforcement filler that is used to enhance the performance of the final composite. As a result, printed parts with complex geometry and robust thermal stability are obtained. Due to the extrusion-based DIW technique, the printed structures exhibit anisotropic mechanical strength that highly depends on printing roads. This simple and convenient means of realizing 3D structures of thermosetting polyimides is a promising strategy in aerospace and other fields.
