    Abstract: Yaw misalignment can make a wake steer, which is an effective method to increase the power of wind farms but it also increases the fatigue load of the turbines. In this paper, the combination of yaw offset and pitch control (CYMP) is studied to analyse the potential mitigation of wake, focusing on the wind velocity and turbulence of the wake distribution, power increment, and fatigue load reduction. The simulation case study shows that the method of CYMP can reduce the fatigue load by 10.29% and increase the total power by 1.7% compared with only wake steering in FAST.Fram. The Collaborative MPC (CoMPC) method based on CYMP is proposed to the real-time wake control in this research, which can increase power by more than 2% and reduce thrust by more than 4% than greedy control under 10 m/s turbulent wind.

    Abstract: Oxidation is a normal consequence of metabolism in biological organisms. The result is the formation of detrimental reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS). A large number of studies have shown that polyphenolic compounds have good antioxidant properties. Hippophae species plants have high polyphenolic content and are widely used in food, medicinal, or the cosmetic field. The main polyphenols in Hippophae species are flavonoids, phenolic acids and tannins, which have multiple effects. However, there is a limited number of studies on polyphenols in Hippophae species plants. This review systematically summarizes the polyphenols compounds and antioxidant activity of Hippophae species plants, and it is noteworthy that the main mechanisms of the polyphenols of Hippophae with antioxidant activity have been summarized as follows: regulating enzyme activity, affect the antioxidant reaction of cells, and others. This review provides useful information for the further study and application of Hippophae species polyphenols and their antioxidant activity.

    Abstract: Tire cord steel is widely used in the tire production process of the vehicle manufacturing industry due to its excellent strength and toughness. Titanium nitride (TiN) inclusion, existing in tire rod, has a seriously detrimental effect on the fatigue and drawing performances of the tire steel. In order to control its amount and morphology, the precipitation behavior of TiN during solidification in SWRH 92A tire cord steel was analyzed by selected thermodynamic models. The calculated results showed that TiN cannot precipitate in the liquid phase region regardless of the selected models. However, the precipitation of TiN in the mushy zone would occur at the final stage during the solidification process (at solid fractions greater than 0.98) if the LRSM (Lever-rule model was applied for the N and Scheil model for Ti) or Ohnaka models (without considering the effect of carbon on secondary dendrite arm spacing (SDAS)) were adopted. For the Ohnaka model, in the case when the effect of carbon on SDAS was considered, TiN would probably precipitate in the solid phase zone rather than precipitate in the liquid phase region or mushy zone.

    Abstract: The genus Maytenus is a member of the Celastraceae family, of which several species have long been used in traditional medicine. Between 1976 and 2021, nearly 270 new compounds have been isolated and elucidated from the genus Maytenus. Among these, maytansine and its homologues are extremely rare in nature. Owing to its unique skeleton and remarkable bioactivities, maytansine has attracted many synthetic endeavors in order to construct its core structure. In this paper, the current status of the past 45 years of research on Maytenus, with respect to its chemical and biological activities are discussed. The chemical research includes its structural classification into triterpenoids, sesquiterpenes and alkaloids, along with several chemical synthesis methods of maytansine or maytansine fragments. The biological activity research includes activities, such as anti-tumor, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory activities, as well as HIV inhibition, which can provide a theoretical basis for the better development and utilization of the Maytenus.

    Abstract: (1) Background: Sleep quality is closely related to the physical and mental health of college students. The objectives of this study were to obtain data on the sleep quality of university students and to investigate the relationship between intestinal flora and the improvement in sleep quality through exercise intervention. (2) Methods: Here, 11 university students with a body mass index (BMI) ≤ 18 and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) ≥ 7 were selected as experimental subjects, and another 11 healthy people were recruited as control subjects. The experimental group and control group were each intervened with exercise for 8 weeks. We used 16SrDNA sequencing technology to analyze the variations of the intestinal flora and the relation of the variations and sleep quality improvement between the experimental group and the control group before and after the exercise intervention. (3) Results: The differences in gut flora composition between people with sleep disorders and healthy people were statistically significant (p 〈 0.05). Before and after the exercise intervention, the differences were also statistically significant (p 〈 0.05) in people with sleep disorders. The sleep-disordered population had a larger proportion compared with the healthy population (p 〈 0.05). Blautia and Eubacterium hallii were microbe markers in the sleep-disordered population before and after the exercise intervention, while there was no microbe marker found in the healthy population. (4) Conclusions: The increase in Blautia and Eubacterium hallii, and the decrease in Agathobacter are associated with healthy sleep. Gut flora may be related to sleep disorders. Exercise intervention can improve sleep quality while changing the diversity of the gut flora, and exercise intervention targeting the gut flora is a new concept for preventing and treating sleep disorders.

    Abstract: Grassland desertification has become one of the most serious environmental problems in the world. Grasslands are the focus of desertification research because of their ecological vulnerability. Their application on different grassland desertification grades remains limited. Therefore, in this study, 19 vegetation indices were calculated for 30 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) visible light images at five grades of grassland desertification in the Mu Us Sandy. Fractional Vegetation Coverage (FVC) with high accuracy was obtained through Support Vector Machine (SVM) classification, and the results were used as the reference values. Based on the FVC, the grassland desertification grades were divided into five grades: severe (FVC 〈 5%), high (FVC: 5–20%), moderate (FVC: 21–50%), slight (FVC: 51–70%), and non-desertification (FVC: 71–100%). The accuracy of the vegetation indices was assessed by the overall accuracy (OA), the kappa coefficient (k), and the relative error (RE). Our result showed that the accuracy of SVM-supervised classification was high in assessing each grassland desertification grade. Excess Green Red Blue Difference Index (EGRBDI), Visible Band Modified Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index (V-MSAVI), Green Leaf Index (GLI), Color Index of Vegetation Vegetative (CIVE), Red Green Blue Vegetation Index (RGBVI), and Excess Green (EXG) accurately assessed grassland desertification at severe, high, moderate, and slight grades. In addition, the Red Green Ratio Index (RGRI) and Combined 2 (COM2) were accurate in assessing severe desertification. The assessment of the 19 indices of the non-desertification grade had low accuracy. Moreover, our result showed that the accuracy of SVM-supervised classification was high in assessing each grassland desertification grade. This study emphasizes that the applicability of the vegetation indices varies with the degree of grassland desertification and hopes to provide scientific guidance for a more accurate grassland desertification assessment.

    Abstract: Many countries are taking strict quarantine policies to prevent the rapid spread of COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019) around the world, such as city lockdown. Cities in China and Italy were locked down in the early stage of the pandemic. The present study aims to examine and compare the impact of COVID-19 lockdown on individuals’ psychological states in China and Italy. We achieved the aim by (1) sampling Weibo users (geo-location = Wuhan, China) and Twitter users (geo-location = Lombardy, Italy); (2) fetching all the users’ published posts two weeks before and after the lockdown in each region (e.g., the lockdown date of Wuhan was 23 January 2020); (3) extracting the psycholinguistic features of these posts using the Simplified Chinese and Italian version of Language Inquiry and Word Count (LIWC) dictionary; and (4) conducting Wilcoxon tests to examine the changes in the psycholinguistic characteristics of the posts before and after the lockdown in Wuhan and Lombardy, respectively. Results showed that individuals focused more on “home”, and expressed a higher level of cognitive process after a lockdown in both Wuhan and Lombardy. Meanwhile, the level of stress decreased, and the attention to leisure increased in Lombardy after the lockdown. The attention to group, religion, and emotions became more prevalent in Wuhan after the lockdown. Findings provide decision-makers timely evidence on public reactions and the impacts on psychological states in the COVID-19 context, and have implications for evidence-based mental health interventions in two countries.
