Abstract: An air-assisted electrostatic nozzle uses a combination of air-assisted atomization and electrostatic spray technology. This article optimizes the existing air-assisted electrostatic nozzles in terms of structural design to obtain a higher charge-to-mass ratio and a smaller droplet size. The optimized air-assisted electrostatic nozzle was studied experimentally, and the effects of liquid pressure, air pressure and applied voltage on the droplet size and charge-to-mass ratio were investigated. Comparing the effects of air pressure, liquid pressure and applied voltage on the charge-to-mass ratio and droplet size, the relationship curves of the droplet size and charge-to-mass ratio under each voltage were fitted using the Rayleigh charge limit theory. For a higher CMR during the spray operation, applied voltages between 2.5 kV and 3 kV, an air pressure between 0.4 bar and 0.6 bar, and a liquid pressure of less than 0.9 bar could be chosen. The optimized air-assisted electrostatic nozzles not only have small droplets but also have high charge-to-mass ratios, reducing the need for pesticide use and thus protecting human health and the environment.

Abstract: High clearance sprayer is a high-efficiency pesticide application machine in orchard management. In this paper, operational safety of high clearance sprayers is validated by using finite element simulation and vibration testing. The 3D model of the frame is simplified by using shell units instead of solid units, the static performance of high clearance sprayer frames under static full load and ultimate torsional conditions was studied by means of finite element simulation tests, the mechanical properties of the frame under step excitation were studied by multi-body dynamic simulation test. The simulation results show that, at a safety factor of 1.5, the maximum stress extremes in the frame are within the safe permissible stress range. During the dynamics analysis, a tire-ground contact simplified model was proposed. The results of the modal analysis show that the inherent frequency distribution of the high clearance sprayer is compact, and the vibration test has measured a large difference between the engine vibration frequency with the inherent frequency of the frame, this means that resonance will not occur. The theoretical analysis shows that the designed high clearance sprayer meets the requirements of large cross-row field operations, the study provides a reference for the overall design of the high clearance sprayer.

Abstract: Refractive index resolution is an important indicator for a wavelength interrogation surface plasmon resonance sensor, which can be affected by signal-to-noise ratio. This paper investigates the impact of spectral signal-to-noise ratio on a surface plasmon resonance sensor. The effects of different spectral powers and noises are compared and verified through simulation and experiments. The results indicate that the optimal resonance wavelength is changed and the refractive index resolution can even be nearly twice as good when the spectral signal-to-noise ratio is increased. The optimal resonance wavelength can be found by changing the spectral power distribution or noise.

Abstract: Pingtan Island is the largest island in Fujian Province and the fifth largest island in China. The invasion of a large number of alien plants has had a profound impact on the local ecological environment. Because the harm caused by alien invasive plants varies greatly between different ecosystems and even in different habitats, the risk assessment index system suitable for one region may not be suitable for other regions. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a risk assessment index system for invasive alien plants on Pingtan Island. Alien plant communities in different habitats were studied by means of quadrat investigation and professional literature review. Some invasive alien species were selected and compiled into a list of invasive alien plants on Pingtan Island, and their species composition, origin, flora, life forms, and habitats were statistically grouped. There were 104 species in 80 genera and 37 families of alien invasive plants. Asteraceae, Fabaceae, Amaranthaceae, and Poaceae were the main families, accounting for 26.7%, 6.7%, 6.7% and 5.8% of the total species, respectively. The geographical components of families and genera have obvious tropical properties, accounting for 51.3% and 66.6% of the total species, respectively. These originated mainly from South America and North America, accounting for 45.5% and 30.1% of the total frequency, respectively. Annual herbs, biennial herbs, and perennial herbs accounted for 84.6% of the total species. Based on a DPSIR conceptual model and an AHP method, an invasion risk assessment of 104 invasive alien plants was conducted. The ecological adaptability, habitat distribution and landscape impact of species were considered in the selection of indicators and the formulation of standards. A total of 23 high-risk invasive species were identified at level I, 37 medium-risk invasive species at level II, and 44 low-risk invasive species at level III. Lantana camara L. had the highest risk score (49), followed by Cenchrus echinatus L. (45), Spartina alterniflora Loisel. (45), and Panicum repens L. (43.5). Suggestions are put forward to prevent the invasion of alien plants on Pingtan Island and to provide a theoretical basis for promoting the healthy and stable development of the ecological environment on the island.

Abstract: Glyptostrobus pensilis is a critically endangered living fossil plant species of the Mesozoic era, with high scientific research and economic value. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of climate change on the potential habitat area of G. pensilis in East Asia. The MaxEnt (maximum entropy) model optimized by the ENMeval data package was used to simulate the potential distribution habitats of G. pensilis since the last interglacial period (LIG, 120–140 ka). The results showed that the optimized MaxEnt model has a high prediction accuracy with the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.9843 ± 0.005. The Current highly suitable habitats were found in the Northeast Jiangxi, Eastern Fujian and Eastern Guangdong; the main climatic factors affecting the geographic distribution of G. pensilis are temperature and precipitation, with precipitation as the temperature factor. The minimum temperature of coldest month (Bio6) may be the key factor restricting the northward distribution of G. pensilis; during the LIG, it contracted greatly in the highly suitable habitat area. Mean Diurnal Range (Bio2), Minimum Temperature of Coldest Month (Bio6), Annual Precipitation (Bio12) and Mean Temperature of Driest Quarter (Bio9) may be important climatic factors causing the changes in geographic distribution. In the next four periods, the suitable areas all migrated southward. Except for the RCP2.6-2070s, the highly suitable areas in the other three periods showed varying degrees of shrinkage. The results will provide a theoretical basis for the management and resource protection of G. pensilis.

Abstract: To realize the online evaluation of spray quality, an online measuring system for spray coverage and deposition quality is developed. The measuring theory of spray coverage and deposition quality on an LWS (leaf wetness sensor) surface is analyzed. When the spray conditions are constant, there is a linear correlation between the spray coverage on the sensor surface, the spray deposition quality and the LWS output voltage increment. The results of calibration experiments show that when the spray conditions are constant, the coefficient of determination R2 of the regression curves between the sensor output voltage increment and the spray coverage on the sensor surface is more than 0.75, and the coefficient of determination R2 of the regression curves between the sensor output voltage increment and the spray deposition quality on the sensor surface is more than 0.90. Based on ZigBee wireless sensor technology, this paper reports an online measuring system for spray coverage and deposition quality at multiple points in the field. The test results show that the online measuring system has good uniformity. Field test results show that the LWS voltage increment and the coverage rate of water-sensitive paper have a good correlation, and the measuring results of the spray deposition quality trend are in good agreement. The fit of the spray deposition quality curves measured by the two methods was 0.8924. The research results in this paper can provide a reference for using LWS sensors to measure spray coverage and deposition quality.
