    Abstract: High market demand for tuna drives the increasing intensity of tuna fishery in Sendangbiru waters. This occours also in almost all of Indonesian waters. High intensity of tuna fishing especially in Southern Java will threaten the preservation and sustainabilityof tuna resource. The decreasing trend of CPUE occured in the last 3 years (2013-2015) indicates that the exploitation rate of tuna resources in Sendangbiru was over fishing. This study aims to assess the status of tuna reasources due to fishing in Sendangbiru. The method used in this research is length based spawning potential ratio approaches or LB-SPR. Results from this study showed that the utilization of tuna resources in Sendangbiru is already at the level of over-exploited as shown by SPR value of 16.98 (less than 20%). Keywords : decreasing tren of CPUE, LB-SPR, Tuna fisheries

Penelitian ini bertujuan 〈 /span 〉 〈 span style="font-size: 10pt;" lang="in" xml:lang="in" 〉 menganalisis karakteristik 〈 /span 〉 〈 span style="font-size: 10pt;" lang="sv" xml:lang="sv" 〉 parameter 〈 /span 〉 〈 span style="font-size: 10pt;" lang="in" xml:lang="in" 〉 biologi ikan kerapu berdasarkan pendekatan beberapa parameter populasi ikan 〈 /span 〉 〈 span style="font-size: 10pt;" 〉 . 〈 /span 〉 〈 span style="font-size: 10pt;" lang="it" xml:lang="it" 〉 Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di perairan Taman Nasional Wakatobi dari bulan Oktober sampai dengan Desember 2010. Pengambilan data biologi ikan kerapu ini dilaksanakan di perairan P. Wangi-wangi, P. Kaledupa dan P. Tomia. 〈 span 〉   〈 /span 〉 Pengambilan data pata panjang dan berat ikan langsung dilakukan di lapangan sedangkan data TKG dan 〈 em 〉 IKG 〈 /em 〉 dilaksanakan pada lokasi yang telah ditentukan sesuai dengan metodologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 〈 /span 〉 〈 span style="font-size: 10pt;" lang="fi" xml:lang="fi" 〉 pertumbuhan ikan kerapu dengan panjang infinity (L 〈 sub 〉 ∞ 〈 /sub 〉 ) sebesar, 59,43 cm, koefisien pertumbuhan 〈 span 〉   〈 /span 〉 (K) sebesar 0,460 dan umur teoritis (t 〈 sub 〉 0 〈 /sub 〉 ) sebesar 0,2540. 〈 /span 〉 〈 span style="font-size: 10pt;" lang="it" xml:lang="it" 〉 Pola pertumbuhan ikan kerapu yang tertangkap pada 〈 em 〉 fishing ground 〈 /em 〉 pancing hekaulu dan bubu bersifat 〈 em 〉 allometrik negatif 〈 /em 〉 〈 span 〉   〈 /span 〉 sedangkan yang tertangkap dengan panah bersifat 〈 span 〉   〈 /span 〉 〈 em 〉 isometrik 〈 /em 〉 .     Abstract: Disolved oxygen plays an important role for fish living in its life environment. Information on the ammount of oxygen consumption of a fish in certain volume of water is needed in order to give balancing between the ammount of disolved oxygen and fish in it. The objective of this research is obtaining oxygen consumption level of a juvenile of humpback grouper (Cromileptes altivelis) of 5-7 cm body length. Oxygen consumption of fish was measured using a tube that equiped with DO tool (dissolved oxygent, DO), and the tube was filled by sea water. Measurement of oxygen con-sumption of juvenil was done by measuring the concentration of dissolved oxygen from sea water in the respirometer tube, began when fish had entered into the respirometer tube up to two hours observation. The result showed that oxygen consumption rate of a juvenile of humpback grouper (Cromileptes altivelis) of 5-7 cm length, is ranging between 0.816 and 1.734 mg/hour.

    Abstract: ABSTRACTTuna is an important fish commodity in Southeast Sulawesi. It valued as an export and interisland trade product as well as an important component of local fish consumption for coastal community around Southeast Sulawesi Waters (PSST). Indonesian fisheries management is currently adopting the concept of ecosystem approach to fisheries management (EAFM). EAFM implementation in Indonesia has continued by indicators establishment to assess the sustainability performance of fisheries. Catch per unit effort standard (Standard CPUE) and juvenile composition were implemented as indicators to assess resource sustainability. Data limitations are one of the issues in fisheries management at this time, however, management efforts remain to be implemented by utilizing the best available data. This study aimed to derived recent ten years coverage of standard CPUE and it trends as well as juvenile proportion in tuna fishery based on statistical data and field observation. Assessment results show that Standard CPUE in 2014 was 0,31 tons per trip and tends to increase in year coverage, while juvenile composition was 48,6%. Based on these results, the tuna fishery in Southeast Sulawesi is still sustainable. However, there is a need to have further control and monitoring, especially on a fishery that caught tuna under Lm. Management measure has to be selected carefully in line with social economic aspects of tuna fishery in this area.Keywords: EAFM, juvenile proportion, Standard CPUE, tuna-------ABSTRAKTuna merupakan komoditas perikanan penting di Sulawesi Tenggara baik sebagai produk ekspor, perdagangan antar pulau maupun pemenuhan kebutuhan lokal bagi masyarakat pesisir di perairan bagian selatan Sulawesi Tenggara (PSST). Untuk mempertahankan keberlanjutan perikanan tuna di daerah ini maka perlu adanya suatu upaya pengelolaan komprehensif yaitu pengelolaan perikanan dengan pendekatan ekosistem atau Ecosystem approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM). Implementasi EAFM di Indonesia terus dikembangkan dengan tersusunnya indikator penilaian kinerja pengelolaan. Tangkapan per Unit Upaya atau Catch per Unit Effort (CPUE) dan komposisi yuwana merupakan bagian dari indikator EAFM Indonesia khususnya dalam domain sumberdaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh nilai CPUE baku dan kecenderungannya selama sepuluh tahun terakhir, dan proporsi yuwana berdasarkan data statistik perikanan yang diintegrasikan dengan data yang diperoleh melalui pengamatan, wawancara dan pengisian kuesioner dengan pemangku kepentingan terkait. Hasil penilaian menunjukkan bahwa CPUE baku tahun 2014 adalah 0,31 ton/trip dengan kecenderungan meningkat, sedangkan komposisi yuwana adalah 48,6%. Berdasarkan nilai CPUE baku dan proporsi yuwana, maka kinerja perikanan tuna Sulawesi Tenggara masih dinilai baik. Perlu adanya upaya pengendalian dan pemantauan lebih lanjut terutama pada perikanan yang menangkap yuwana tuna. Namun demikian, pemilihan tindakan pengelolaan harus dilakukan secara hati-hati dengan memperhatikan pemenuhan kebutuhan sosial ekonomi lainnya dari perikanan tuna di daerah ini.Kata kunci: EAFM, proporsi yuwana, CPUE baku, tuna

    Abstract: 〈 p 〉 Dengan adanya Undang-undang nomor 32 Tahun 2004 tentang Pemerintahan Daerah, Pemerintah daerah dalam hal ini pemerintah kabupaten atau pemerintah kota memiliki peranan penting dalam pengelolaan perikanan karang. Disisi lain kapasitas sebagian pemerintah kabupaten dan kota dalam pengelolaan perikanan masih relatif lemah. Sehingga banyak pemerintah kabupaten dan kota tidak melakukan kegiatan pengelolaan perikanan karang. Kota Sabang, merupakan kota terletak di ujung barat laut Pulau Sumatera, termasuk wilayah Provinsi Aceh. Berdasarkan Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Panjang Kota Sabang, bidang perikanan merupakan salah satu bidang prioritas dalam rencana tersebut. Salah satu masalah utamanya adalah kapasitas pemerintah Kota Sabang masih terbatas dalam melakukan pengelolaan perikanan khususnya perikanan karang sehingga memiliki kelemahan dalam menyusun strategi pengelolaan perikanan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: adanya kajian status kelembagaan pemerintah kota sabang dalam melakukan pengelolaan perikanan karang; dan adanya strategi dan rekomendasi pengelolaan perikanan karang berdasarkan status kelembagaan. Metode yang dipakai dalam studi ini adalah Institutional Development Framework (IDF) yang dikembangkan oleh Renzi (1996) dan Manulang (1999). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan secara kelembangaan, Dinas Kelautan, Perikanan dan Pertanian (DKPP), Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Daerah (BAPPEDA), dan Badan Pengendalian Dampak Lingkungan, Kebersihan dan Pertamanan (BAPEDALKEP) berada dalam tahap pemantapan dalam melakukan pengelolaan perikanan karang. 〈 /p 〉 〈 p 〉 〈 br / 〉 Kata kunci: kapasitas pemerintah, pengelolaan perikanan, perikanan karang 〈 /p 〉

    Abstract: ABSTRACTRumpon or Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) had been used by purse seine and handline fishermen in Pacitan Regency since 2005. The use of rumpon has been associated with the catching of immature fishes in large number that would disrupt the sustainability of fish resources.  The aims of this study were to measure fishing productivity of purse seine and handline fleets operated around FADs deployed in eastern Indian Ocean waters and analyze the size distribution and gonad maturity index of the catch. This study was conducted at Tamperan Fishing Port of the Pacitan Regency, East Java Province. Daily fish landing data from both fishing fleets were collected from the Tamperan auction hall from January to December 2014 for productivity calculation. About 289 fish samples from 6 dominant species was taken randomly on-board of 3 purse seine and 2 handlines vessels from 8 different FADs for size distribution and gonad analysis. The average productivity of purse seine fleets in 2014were 6,7 tonnes/trip (s = 5 tonnes/trip) while handling fleets average productivity were 0,9 tons/trip (s = 0,6 tons/trip. Purse seine catch were dominated by immature and juvenile fish while handlines catch were larger and already mature fishes.Keywords:FADs, fishing productivity, gonad analysisABSTRAK Rumpon atau Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) telah digunakan oleh nelayan pukat cincin dan pancing ulur di Kabupaten Pacitan sejak tahun 2005. Penggunaan rumpon seringkali dihubungkan dengan penangkapan ikan yang belum dewasa dalam jumlah yang terlalu banyak sehingga dapat mengganggu keberlanjutan sumber daya ikan.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung produktivitas alat tangkap pukat cincin dan pancing ulur yang dioperasikan dengan menggunakan alat bantu rumpon yang dipasang di Samudera Hindia bagian timur dan menganalisis ukuran dan tingkat kematangan gonad hasil tangkapannya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Tamperan, Kabupaten Pacitan, Propinsi Jawa Timur. Data pendaratan ikan harian selama bulan Januari hingga Desember 2014 diperoleh dari unit pelaksana teknis tempat pelelangan ikan Tamperan untuk perhitungan produktivitas.  Adapun sampel ikan sebanyak 289 ekor diambil dari 3 unit kapal pukat cincin dan 2 unit kapal pancing ulur yang beroperasi di 8 rumpon yang berbeda untuk analisis sebaran ukuran dan tingkat kematangan gonad ikan hasil tangkapan. Produktivitas rata-rata pada tahun 2014 untuk alat tangkap pukat cincin yaitu sebesar 6,7 ton/trip (s = 5 ton/trip), sedangkan pancing ulur yaitu sebesar 0,9 ton/trip (s = 0,6 ton/trip). Hasil tangkapan pukat cincin didominasi oleh ikan berukuran kecil dan belum dewasa, sedangkan pancing ulur menangkap ikan yang berukuran lebih besar dan telah dewasa.Kata kunci: rumpon, produktivitas penangkapan, analisis gonad

    Abstract: ABSTRACTOctopus production data show that catch in Banggai Laut waters is decreasing.  In addition, some destructive or illegal fishing gear such as spears, bombs and poisons are still used to catch octopus.  Given this alarming situation,  this study is intended to assess the sustainability status of octopus fishery in Banggai Laut Regency by means of the Ecosystem Approach Fisheries Management (EAFM) indicator.  Octopus catch data incorporating species and amount of catch, number of fishing efforts, mantle size, weight, fishing ground, and the type of protected species are obtained through direct observation on handline fishing and interviews with fishermen. Furthermore, the same method was applied to collect fishing techniques data including fishing efforts, fleet size, crew certification and data on illegal fishing practices.  The result shows that the status of octopus resource and the domain of fishing technique in Banggai Laut Regency is in the medium category with a value of 63.33 and 68.75 respectively. Accordingly, the sustainability level of octopus fisheries is in the moderate category with a value of 66.04.  Fisheries management related to the fishing practice that is targeting undersize octopus and exceeding the annual quota require further investigation in order to maintain the sustainability level of octopus fisheries.Keywords: Banggai Laut Regency, EAFM, octopus, sustainability levelABSTRAKInformasi tentang produksi menunjukkan bahwa hasil tangkapan gurita di perairan Banggai Laut cenderung menurun. Selain itu, penangkapan gurita masih ada yang menggunakan alat tangkap yang destruktif atau illegal seperti tombak, bom dan racun. Hal ini sangat mengkhawatirkan keberlanjutan sumberdaya gurita.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi status atau tingkat keberlanjutan perikanan gurita di Kabupaten Banggai Laut. Kondisi keberlanjutan perikanan gurita di Kabupaten Banggai Laut dianalisis menggunakan indikator Ecosystem Approach Fisheries Management (EAFM).  Data sumberdaya gurita diperoleh melalui pengamatan langsung dalam kaitannya dengan pancing ulur dan wawancara yang meliputi jenis dan jumlah produksi hasil tangkapan pancing ulur, upaya penangkapan, ukuran panjang mantel gurita, bobot gurita, spot daerah penangkapan gurita dan spesies yang dilindungi. Data teknik penangkapan ikan diperoleh melalui wawancara, survey dan observasi data yang meliputi data upaya penangkapan, jumlah armada penangkapan pancing ulur, sertifikasi awak kapal perikanan dan pelanggaran operasi penangkapan pancing ulur. Domain sumberdaya gurita di Kabupaten Banggai Laut termasuk dalam kategori sedang dengan nilai 63,33. Domain teknik penangkapan termasuk kategori sedang dengan nilai 68,75. Tingkat keberlanjutan perikanan gurita secara keseluruhan termasuk kategori sedang dengan nilai 66,04. Pengelolaan terkait penangkapan gurita yang berukuran tidak layak tangkap dan membatasi hasil tangkapan maksimal yang boleh ditangkap per tahun perlu dilakukan untuk menjaga tingkat keberlanjutan perikanan gurita.Kata kunci:  Kabupaten Binggai Laut, EAFM, gurita, keberlanjutan

    Abstract: Rabbitfishes (Siganids) fishing activities tend to increase and potentially impact fish target and ecosystem, which is indicated by changes in population size and structure and the trophic level of the catches. Scientific information on Siganids fishing techniques and its ecological impact are limited. The aims of the study are: (1) to describe technical fishing aspects of Siganids fishery; (2) to estimate parameters of length at first maturity (Lm) as catch size limit indicators for this fish target; (3) to evaluate the impact of fishing on food chain balances (trophic level) the fish resources in this study area. The Siganids fishing techniques were observed during the field study. The catch of Siganids species and other fishes from various fishing gears were sampled, then identified and calculated individually. The samples of Siganids fish were also measured for its length and weight. This study showed that the fishers were used three kinds of fishing gears to target the Siganids fish, i.e., rope traps, bamboo traps, and spear gun. There were five species of Siganids caught during the research, they are: Barhead spinefoot (Siganus virgatus), Goldspotted spinefoot (S. punctatus), Streaked spinefoot (S. javus), Orange-spotted spinefoot (S. guttatus), and White-spotted spinefoot (S. canaliculatus), with the Lm value of 3.5, 22.8, 30.6, 21.2, and 20.8 cm, respectively.  All catches of the Siganids exceeded the catch size limit (Lm), except for S. punctatus and S. Javus which was only 65.51% and 4.00% of the respective catches were acceptable in size. Finally, the Siganids fishing activities in the study area potentially impacted the ecological function of natural food chain balance (trophic level). It was indicated by the dominance (48%) of the catches on trophic level 3. Keywords:       fishing impact, rabbitfish, Siganidae, size limit, trophic level

    Abstract: ABSTRACTThe problems that occur in coastal areas related to the management of small-scale coastal fisheries in Tegal are the depletion of fish resources in coastal waters, and a variety of pressures including pressure due to population growth, abrasion as well as water pollution. A holistic understanding of internal and external factors of coastal fisheries management is needed to determine how these factors affect the fishing activities in Tegal. The purpose of this research is to analyze the internal and external factors of small-scale coastal fisheries management in Tegal. The benefit of this research is to give feedback to stakeholders and constructive actions in creating sustainable management of coastal fisheries. This study was conducted in Tegal precisely in the village of Muarareja. The sample in this study is 64 small-scale fishermen, using purposive sampling. Primary data were collected by using questionnaires, secondary data were obtained from Departementnof Agriculture and Marine Tegal, Bureau of Statistics of Tegal, Muarareja Fish Auction. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and SWOT analysis. The results showed that the present status of coastal fisheries management in Tegal is currently categorized as "good condition", and is still in a stable growth. There were 5 (five) alternative strategies to manage small-scale coastal fisheries management in order to improve and to enhance sustainability, namely, development of fishing gear independently, monitoring surveillance of fishing gear, utilization of fishing equipment to optimize the catch, and utilization of revolving fund for procurement of new machines.Keywords: coastal fisheries management, internal-external analysis, management-------ABSTRAKPermasalahan yang menerpa wilayah pesisir dalam pengelolaan perikanan pantai skala kecil di Kota Tegal terkait dengan adanya penurunan potensi sumber daya ikan di perairan pantai Kota Tegal, selain itu dipicu juga adanya pertumbuhan populasi penduduk, perubahan fungsi / alih lahan, pencemaran perairan, ataupun abrasi. Pemahaman yang holistik terkait faktor internal dan faktor eksternal pengelolaan perikanan pantai sangat diperlukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana faktor-faktor tersebut berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas perikanan tangkap yang ada di Kota Tegal. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis faktor internal dan eksternal pengelolaan perikanan pantai di Kota Tegal. Manfaat yang diinginkan adalah memberi masukan kepada pemangku kepentingan dan tindakan konstruktif dalam menciptakan pengelolaan perikanan pantai yang berkelanjutan. Penelitian dilakukan di Tegal tepatnya di desa Muarareja. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah nelayan skala kecil yang berjumlah 64 orang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive. Jenis data yang diambil adalah data primer dengan menggunakan kuesioner sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari Dinas Kelautan dan Pertanian Kota Tegal, BPS Kota Tegal, Tempat Pelelangan Ikan Muarareja. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis SWOT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kondisi terkini pengelolaan perikanan pantai di Kota Tegal saat ini termasuk kategori ”cukup baik”, dan masih dalam pertumbuhan yang stabil. Usulan program strategis yang terkait dengan pengelolaan perikanan pantai di Kota Tegal yaitu pengembangan alat tangkap secara mandiri, pengawasan bersama keamanan alat tangkap, optimalisasi penangkapan ikan pada saat harga jual ikan naik, pemanfaatan alat tangkap bantuan untuk optimalisasi hasil tangkapan, dan pemanfaatan dana bergulir untuk pengadaan mesin baru.Kata kunci: analisis internal-eksternal, pengelolaan perikanan pantai, manajemen

    Abstract: ABSTRACTBiological-Fish Aggregation Devices (Bio FADs) is FADs wich used seaweed or water plants as attractor. FADs live in this study is made using two species of seaweed i.e Eucheuma cottonii and Gracillaria sp. as attractor, so called cottonii FADs or RC and gracillaria FADs or RG. The purpose of this study was to analyze the catches based on its community structures such as the species, abundance, and ecological characteristics spatially and temporally. The research was conducted in Luwu district waters from October 2014-August 2015. RC and RG were installed in three different habitats as an observation station, i.e. river mouth habitat (MS), seagrass habitat (PL), and coral reef habitat (TK). Fish sampling on two types of FADs were collected using a scoop net. Shannon-Wienner diversity index (H') of the three habitats is relatively high. ANOSIM statistical test showed that there is a significance difference of catches abundance between habitats (R = 0.235; p = 0.001). Coral reef habitats have the highest abundance of the catch. Furthermore, there are also highly significant between the months of (R = 0.271; p = 0.001). The highest abundance of fish catches in December. The main species which contribute substantially in the two FADs are Siganus canaliculatus as well as in MS and PL habitat, while in TK habitat the main species is Caranx sp. SIMPER analysis showed that Siganus canaliculatus contribute about 66.42% of the PL habitat.Keywords: Bio- FADs, diversity index, Siganus canaliculatus-------ABSTRAKRumpon hidup atau Biological-Fish Aggregation Devices adalah rumpon yang dibuat dengan menggunakan rumput laut atau tanaman air sebagai atraktor. Rumpon hidup pada penelitian ini dibuat dengan menggunakan rumput laut jenis Eucheuma cottonii (RC) dan Gracillaria sp.(RG). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hasil tangkapan ikan berdasarkan jenis, kelimpahan, dan karakteristik ekologis secara spasial dan temporal. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di perairan Kabupaten Luwu dari bulan Oktober 2014 hingga Agustus 2015. Sampel ikan dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan serok pada kedua jenis rumpon yang dipasang di tiga habitat yang berbeda sebagai stasiun pengamatan. Indeks diversitas Shannon-Wienner (H') secara spasial dan temporal relatif tinggi. Uji statistik ANOSIM menunjukkan bahwa kelimpahan hasil tangkapan ikan antar habitat berbeda sangat nyata, (R = 0,235; p = 0,001). Habitat terumbu karang memiliki kelimpahan hasil tangkapan tertinggi. Selanjutnya secara temporal antar bulan (musim) berbeda sangat nyata (R = 0,271; p = 0,001). Kelimpahan hasil tangkapan ikan tertinggi pada bulan Desember. Analisis SIMPER menunjukkan bahwa Siganus canaliculatus sebagai spesies utama (penciri) pada kedua rumpon, begitu pula dengan dua habitat MS dan PL. Adapun habitat TK, spesies utamanya adalah jenis Caranx sp. Kontsribusi Siganus canaliculatus cukup tinggi pada habitat padang lamun yaitu sebesar 66,42% .Kata kunci: rumpon hidup, indeks diversitas, Siganus canaliculatus
