Description:
GEOSTAR (1 and 2) and ORION-GEOSTAR 3 seafloor missions have
been performed in the frame of a European project whose main objective is the
deep-sea investigation by means of an automatic multidisciplinary observatory.
During the three GEOSTAR missions it has been possible to acquire scalar and
vector magnetic data, useful to improve global and regional geomagnetic reference models and to define sub-surface electric conductivity structure. In this
work, after a brief description on the calibration and orientation of acquired data,
we propose some estimations of the electrical conductivity of the lithosphere beneath the three different measurement sites.
