Abstract: Identification of a person is of paramount importance in a medico-legal investigation. At present more and more people use protecting lipsticks and permanent lipsticks. With these lipsticks a latent lip print is generated by contact with a surface and, like with the latent fingerprints occur, this latent lip print can be developed. This study aims to retrieve latent lip prints from various inanimate surfaces like thermocoal plate, bone china, and glass to compare the efficacy of developers i.e., fingerprint powder, Sudan III, Vermillion, and its comparison with standard lipstick prints. Current research assesses the effectiveness of particular surfaces in the retrieval of lip print in personnel identification. This study included a total of 30 subjects. Latent lip print was developed on the different inanimate surfaces by pressing the lips against the different vehicles. After collecting samples, a camel hair brush was used to retrieve all three chemicals individually by simply tapping on all three surfaces. Application of chemicals was continued until the print became clearly visible for the study. Developed latent lip print was then compared with the visible lip print. Subsequently, a standard lipstick print was developed from the same subject. All the samples were coded and graded according to the patterns suggested in the literature. Discrete (categorical) data were summarized in number and percentage and compared by chi-square (χ2) test. Analyses were performed on SPSS software (Windows version 17.0). : The overall (i.e., total of all three surfaces) favourable outcome was found highest in Fingerprint powder (58.9%) followed by Sudan III (28.9%) and Vermilion (10.0%) the least (Vermilion & #60; Sudan III & #60; Fingerprint powder).Comparing the overall outcomes of three developers, χ2 test showed significantly different and higher favourable outcome in Fingerprint powder as compared to both Sudan III and Vermilion (χ2=92.09, p & #60;0.001) The study found Fingerprint powder the best developer and Thermocol plate the best surface. The findings of this study may be beneficial for investigators.

Abstract: is a major cause of health care associated infections. It has natural resistance as well as acquired multidrug resistance to various antibiotics leading to increased morbidity and mortality, which lead to problematic condition and increased medical expenses. The main aim of this study was to study the resistance pattern of isolated from samples received from surgical site infections and wound infections. This study was conducted at Microbiology laboratory of Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College and Research Centre. Pus and wound swab samples were collected from surgical site infections (SSIs) and wound infections. Samples were cultured on MacConkey and Nutrient agar and incubated at 37°C aerobically. Identification of was done by using conventional method and antibiotic sensitivity was determined with automated Vitek2 compact system. From January 2021 to November 2021 during this study period, out of 117 positive samples 32 (27.35%) were isolated. The susceptibility pattern showed the organism to be most commonly susceptible to Colistin, Doripenem, followed by Piperacillin/Tazobactam, Imipenem, Amikacin, and was less susceptible to Ciprofloxacin, Ceftazidime. Presences of multidrug resistance strains have raised significant concern and judicious use of antibiotics is the only option to reduce drug resistance and preventing resistance against reserve antibiotics.

Abstract: Hepatitis E virus causes a self-limiting viral infection, transmitted by feco-oral route. HEV infection is major health problem worldwide, with a higher incidence in developing country. To determine the frequency of HEV infection in patient with acute hepatitis and describe the frequency of HEV in different sex and age groups. From January 2019 to December 2020, Serum samples from clinically suspected acute viral hepatitis cases were collected and sent to the department of microbiology maintaining precautions. These were processed for the detection of HEV- specific Immunoglobulin M antibodies carried out rapid card test which is based on immunochromatography. The seroprevalence of HEV (11.79%), HEV infection is slightly higher in female (52%) as compare to male (48%) and HEV infection was most commonly seen in adults (age group 21-30 years) The best means of reducing the spread of infection is by promoting simple measure of personal and community hygiene. However, these data will be useful for planning of future vaccination and for better sanitation. This study also helps the local organizations for maintaining the proper hygiene condition and supply purified water which can help to reduce the prevalence of Hepatitis E virus.

Abstract: The most frequent bacterial illness is urinary tract infection (UTI). If Immune system fails to eliminate the bacteria that has bypass the first line of defence it results in urinary tract infection or a more severe illness furthermore. Females are usually more distressed than males. Catheter- associated urinary tract infection develops when an indwelling urinary catheter causes an infection within 48 hours. Compare the bacterial infection in urinary tract in non catheterized and catheterized patients. To know different pathogenic bacteria causing UTI in catheterized and non catheterized patients. The present study was conducted on CAUTI & NON CAUTI patients including both male & female attending general medicine of teerthankar Mahaveer University. Infection occurred more in CAUTI patients than NON CAUTI. Ratio of females was higher than males. As our study shows higher percentage of UTI in CAUTI so unnecessary catheterization should be avoided.

Abstract: In neurobehavioral research, animal model has played a crucial role in yielding experimental data as well as, in the development of new insights. Researchers are always trying to develop novel animal models to understand fundamental features of physiological, behavioral and psychological disorders. Zebra fish () is now considered globally as a new and useful model in biomedical research. The objective of the present study was to assess behavioral changes in adult zebra fish after acute exposure to different pharmacological and herbal compound. Adult zebra fish of 4-5-months-old were exposed to different concentrations of unknown test drug with the standard for 5 min. The test was conducted separately for each drug concentration as well as control. Behavioral activity parameters viz. novel tank test and light and dark transition test were recorded for each animal during the exposure period. Results: Zebra fish exposed to Test drug () showed change in behavioral activity with significant to the standard drug caffeine. In view of the above findings, these results suggested that exposure of adult zebra fish with drug produce the expected changes in the behavior like stress and anxiety; therefore, adult zebra fish can be used an alternative approach for the assessment of new chemical entities for their effect on behavioral activity.

Abstract: The study aimed to identify barriers/impediments in accessing health care facilities in vulnerable tribal community.  A community-based cross-sectional observation on health service utilization was carried out among the vulnerable Saharia tribe in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh. The data was gathered by skilled investigators from influencing community members during August to October 2020. Relevant information’s was collected from 212 respondents from 40 villages. Out of 40 village, 16(40%) of which were health facility villages located & #60;5 km radius of health centers i.e. PHCs, SHCs and HWCs, and 24(60%) from non-health facility villages located & #62;5 km radius of any of these health centers. The study found that three common barriers emerged; majorly as lack of awareness, misconception of child immunization and inadequate behavior of health care workers in both health facility village (located & #60;5 km radius of health centers) and non-health facility village(located & #62;5 km radius of health centers). Further, these barriers are considerably affected in non-health facility village along with the public transportation facility and poor road conditions (45.3%) in comparison to health facility villages’ (32.1%). Identified barriers in accessing health care facility is more startling in non-health facility villages as compared to health facility villages. These explored barriers need to be minimized through effective implementation research and strategy among vulnerable community in favor of achieving universal health coverage (UHC) particular in rural and remote regions.

Abstract: To assess central macular thickness (CMT) in diabetics with or without diabetic retinopathy (DR) and compare it with various clinical grades of DR. All patients attending the ophthalmic OPD fulfilling the inclusion and met no exclusion criteria were enrolled in this study. All eyes underwent comprehensive and standardized ophthalmic examination. The CMT was measured using spectral domain optical coherence tomography using Cirrus HD OCT Model 500. The mean CMT in cases is significantly greater than controls. It is also significantly greater in diabetics with DR as compared to diabetics without DR and it significantly varies with various grades of DR. The mean CMT is also increased in patients with diabetic macular edema (DME) and panretinal photocoagulation (PRP) untreated DR as compared to diabetics without DME and PRP treated DR respectively. Central macular thickness can be used as an indicator to monitor individuals with diabetes as it increased in diabetics and the presence of macular edema decreased in PRP treated eyes. It also varies with various grades of DR.

Abstract: The emergence of antibiotic resistance and its side effects have restricted their use in array of prophylactic options in present scenario. Indeed, some new strategies and alternative therapies like herbal medicines and laser therapies have already minimised the use of antibiotic prevent/cure health related issues or oral diseases. Nowadays many authors are trying to prove influence of synbiotics in oral health maintenance so this study was done to check the usage of synbiotics and its benefits in the post extraction tooth socket. The aim of this research is to study the effect of synbiotics supplements on post-surgical complications and oral wound healing after extraction of tooth. To determine the clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of synbiotics over antibiotics and analgesics in post extraction of tooth socket. This study is a randomized controlled trial, parallel group, multicentre trial comparing the efficacy of synbiotics in healing of post extraction sockets that was conducted in three centres of Lucknow city-India including BBD dental college of dental sciences. Three groups were made with 80 patients in each group. The primary outcome measures were observed in each group on 3rd day, 5th day and 7th day.  We could find significant difference between the 3 groups regarding the evaluated parameters. In age and gender distribution was observed. Wound related complications like bleeding, swelling and gut flora disturbance at the surgical site was present more in group 2 and group 3 as compared to group 1 which is found statistically significant with p value 0.02, 0.01 and 0.01. In the cost analysis during the treatment among the study subjects was noted where statistical significant results were obtained between groups 1 vs group 2; group 1 vs group 3 and group 2 vs group 3 at p ≤ 0.01. Since this was a novel approach in comparing the post extraction wound healing and as the results showed a definite positive effect by synbiotics. Further studies with a larger sample and different formulation would be recommended to be put into clinical use.
