Abstract: Increasingly frequent earthquakes pose a serious threat to human lives and properties. However, the prediction of seismic activity is a major problem in seismic research. In this paper, we use the gray model to study seismic activity patterns. The Alpine–Himalayan seismic zone is selected as a study area for this work. Using seismic activity in the region, we analyze characteristics of time series related to seismic activity. Results show that the gray model for predicting seismic activity is available. The timing of the seismic activity of the Alpine–Himalayan seismic zone displays certain regularity. On the basis of computational analysis on July 20, 2015, a strong earthquake will occur in 26 years. In this paper, we use the application of a gray system that provides a new modeling approach in the field of disaster prevention to predict seismic activity, which is important in disaster prevention, disaster management, and rescue.

Abstract: The occurrence regularity and propagation mechanism of seismic activity are complicated and variable to be described by existing models. This paper presents a multifractal analysis of the Alpine–Himalayan seismic zone in time–space series. The multifractal spectrum of energy released from the seismic zone is obtained from different angles. Results show that earthquakes in the seismic zone possess complex multifractal characteristics in time–space series. Moreover, the clustering feature of the seismic activity intensity in the seismic zone is similar among the time–space series.

Abstract: In recent years, with the frequent occurrence of geological disasters, the prediction and analysis of earthquakes has gradually become a hot topic. This paper studies the multifractal spatio-temporal characteristics of China seismic energy. The study data derives from the seismic activities in the Mainland China from 1970 to 2013. In this study, it comes to a comprehensive conclusion of spatial and temporal multifractal characteristics of earthquake activities in China. The study area is divided into five regions: The Xinjiang region, the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau region, the Northern China, the Northeast China and the Southern China. In this study, we analyze the spectrum curves of the seismic releasing energy time series to each region, and compare the differences. Then the differences of the multifractal characteristics in the time dimension can be pointed out based on the curve, and the law of earthquake occurrence is analyzed from the sequence diagrams of time intervals among various tectonic areas. In the spatial dimension, it discrete seismic data points for each region through rectangular square grid at different resolutions as the input, then derive the multifractal spectrum curve of spatial characteristic to each region. By analyzing the multifractal dimension, it explores the similarities and differences of the spatial and temporal characteristics of the earthquake among five regions.

Abstract: Fractal analysis provides a powerful method for studying complicated natural phenomena. This paper employs fractal analysis to study seismology based on the statistical fractal concept and provides a simple overview for analysing the temporal distribution and fractal characteristics of seismic activity. We delve into the self-shot fractal characteristics of seismic activity by using an analysis of the Rescaled Range scale invariance of seismic time and time interval sequences.

Abstract: Here we report a mini-three-dimensional dye-sensitized solar cell (3D DSSC) based on TiO 2 nanotube arrays (TNAs). TNAs were directly grown on spiral-shaped titanium wire via a facile potentiostatic anodization. Furthermore, the TNAs film was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy, indicating that the annealed TNAs were composed of single-crystalline anatase particles. Unlike conventional flat DSSC, this mini-3D DSSC could easily hold liquid electrolyte due to the capillary force which facilitated sealing the cell. This mini-3D DSSC showed an energy conversion efficiency of 4.1% under the AM 1.5 condition, which was much higher compared with that (3.2%) of the backside illuminated TNAs based DSSC of the same projected area.

Abstract: A finite element stress linearization method is introduced into the structural verification of the three-bridge rigid frame, a newly designed frame for the wide-body mining dump truck. This method successfully captures the potential local failure around the structural-discontinuity zone. The results indicate that the suspension supports experience high-level stress under six operating conditions and the most dangerous location of the frame always lies at the weld bead between the suspension support and frame. The stress intensities of the original frame under six operating conditions are all smaller than the allowable value, manifesting that the strength of the original frame can meet the strength requirements. The local modifications greatly reduce the local stress and thus improve the reliability of the frame, manifested by the reduced stress level and stress intensity along dangerous paths. The primary plus secondary stress intensity along the most dangerous path decreases by 16.69% under the condition of free-hanging left front wheel, and by 59.91% under the condition of free-hanging right rear wheel. The present work provides a sound method to evaluate the local failure of the frame for the mining dump truck containing many structural-discontinuity zones, and the result is helpful for the continuous improvement of the frame for the wide-body mining dump truck and provides a guideline for designing a new frame.

Abstract: The optimum process for extracting avocado oil from avocado pulp was studied by using water method. The effects of material-liquid ratio, temperature, and time and pH value on oil extraction rate and oil recovery rate were studied. The optimum extraction conditions of avocado oil were determined by orthogonal test, and the physicochemical properties and fatty acid composition were analysed. The results showed: material-liquid ratio of 1:3 g/mL, extraction temperature of 75 °C, extraction time of 150 min, pH of 8 could be obtained on the optimal extraction conditions, and the oil extraction rate and the oil recovery rate of avocado oil were 78.95%, 37.21%, respectively. The acid value of avocado oil is 0.86 mg / g, the iodine value is 154.41 g / 100g, the saponification value is 198.0 g / 100g, water and volatile matter is 0.13%. The main fatty acid composition of avocado oils were oleic acid (71.93%), palmitic acid (13.33%), linoleic acid (8.51%), palm oil Acid (5.28%), total unsaturated fatty acid content 85.72%.

Abstract: In order to investigate the differences of three kinds of special fruits between cashew nut oil and macadamia nut oil in the aspects of physicochemical properties and fatty acid composition, the acid value, iodine value, peroxide value, saponification value, non-saponification value, moisture and The volatile matter, pH, colour and fatty acid composition were compared. The results showed that the three oils had significant differences, and the macadamia had the highest oil content. The macadamia nut and cashew nut oil had a significant difference in oil yield. The price, iodine value, moisture and volatile matter content and colour difference were significant. The macadamia nut oil had the lowest acid value. The cashew nut oil had the highest iodine value and the lowest moisture and volatile matter content. The difference of the fatty acid composition of the three oils was that camellia seed oil contains a-linolenic acid, the cashew nut oil contains linoleic acid, and the macadamia nut oil contains lauric acid and myristic acid. This study identified the significant differences in oil content, extraction rate, physicochemical properties, fatty acid composition and relative content between the three oils, which provided basic data support for the development of functional products in the later period.
