Abstract: Accurate segmentation of skin lesions is crucial for the early detection and treatment of skin cancer. In this study, we propose EfficientSkinSegNet, a novel lightweight convolutional neural network architecture specifically designed for precise skin lesion segmentation. EfficientSkinSegNet incorporates efficient feature extraction encoders and decoders, leveraging multi-head convolutional attention and spatial channel attention mechanisms to extract and enhance informative features while eliminating redundant ones. Furthermore, a multi-scale feature fusion module is introduced in the skip connections to facilitate effective fusion of features at different scales. Experimental evaluations on benchmark datasets demonstrate that EfficientSkinSegNet outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of segmentation accuracy while maintaining a compact model size. The proposed network shows promise for practical clinical diagnostic applications, providing a balance between segmentation performance and computational efficiency. Future research will focus on evaluating EfficientSkinSegNet’s performance on diverse semantic segmentation tasks and optimizing it for medical image analysis.

Abstract: Assembled steel structure housing has the advantages of low cost, light weight and flexible space arrangement, which has been largely used in government-subsidized housing in China. Meanwhile with the rising of assembled steel structure housing, precast concrete facade panels have been widely used. In this paper, the research on the seismic performance of assembled steel frame with precast concrete facade panels in China is summarized and discussed, including the influence of precast concrete facade panels, flexible connections and the seismic performance of steel frame influenced by precast concrete facade panels. According to the research status, the mechanical characteristic of the precast concrete facade panels following the deformation of steel frames; the seismic performance influence of the main structure in rare earthquakes because of the flexible connections are analysed. This paper provides a reference for seismic theory establishment of assembled steel structure housing envelope system.

Abstract: The Tibetan Plateau (TP) is sensitive to climate change in the land–atmosphere coupling mechanism due to its complex topographic features and unique geographic location. This study explored the teleconnection between pre-summer thawing of frozen soil over the TP and summer precipitation in East Asia in the Meiyu–Baiu rainy season (June, July) from 1981 to 2019 using maximum covariance analysis (MCA). The precipitation fields forced by thawing of frozen soil were calculated by the coupled manifold technique. The variations in East Asian precipitation are significantly impacted by thawing of frozen soil over the TP, with a variance explained ratio in the surrounding middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River (MLYR) of around 10%–20%. The MCA analysis also revealed that the thickness of pre-summer frozen soil thawing had a positive relationship with summer precipitation in the MLYR and southern Japan (fraction = 0.59, correlation ≈ 0.99). To find out the possible mechanism, composite analyses were conducted on atmospheric and surface components with reanalysis products. The analysis results suggested that more (less) frozen soil thawing would increase (decrease) the sensible heat and land surface temperature with enhanced (weakened) surface diabatic heating over the TP. Then, the positive (negative) surface diabatic heating would result in an enhanced (weakened) South Asia High extending eastward followed by stronger (weaker) upper troposphere (200 hPa) westerlies, as well as the West North Pacific Subtropical High extending westward. As a result, the northeastward movement of the integrated vapor transport intensified (weakened) with the westward extension (eastward retreat) of the Meiyu–Baiu rain belt, leading to more (less) precipitation in the MLYR and southern Japan. It is thus suggested that pre-summer thawing of frozen soil over the TP could play a vital role in regulating East Asian summer precipitation and movement of the Meiyu–Baiu rain belt.

Abstract: Currently, most fault diagnosis methods based on domain adaptation (DA) reduce the distribution discrepancy between the source and target domains by aligning their high-dimensional features, but do not consider the impact of the source domain decision boundary on the distribution of the target domain, which leads to slow convergence and poor generalization. Aiming at the above-mentioned issues, this paper proposes a double-aligned DA deep transfer model (MSADA) based on multi-structure fusion and multi-attention mechanism. Firstly, a multi-structure fusion network with Inception module is constructed to increase the information capacity in the extracted features and enhance the representation of deep features. Then, the multi-attention mechanism is embedded into different convolutional channels separately to learn globally and locally important information and reduce the influence of the source domain decision boundary on the target domain distribution. Finally, the multi-kernel maximum mean discrepancy and KL divergence are combined as a new double-aligned distribution discrepancy metric to align the samples and probability distributions of the source domain and the target domain, respectively. At the same time, a dynamic adaptive factor is designed to adjust the contribution of the two types of distributions, thus effectively improving the training efficiency and the robustness of the model. Through the validation analysis of two rolling bearing dataset cases, the proposed MSADA has better cross-domain diagnostic performance than other DA methods.

Abstract: For bearing fault diagnosis at time-varying speed with tachometer-free and non-resampling, the crucial process is to obtain a high-resolution time-frequency representation and extract fault features. However, current multi-component non-stationary signal feature extraction methods based on time-frequency transform suffer from fixed parameter settings and insufficient resolution for low signal-to-noise ratio signals. To address these issues, a novel adaptive clustered fractional Gabor transform is proposed and applied to extract bearing fault features at time-varying speed. Firstly, the grey wolf optimization is utilized to adaptively search for the optimal fractional order and Gauss window length based on the maximum spectral kurtosis and the generalized time-bandwidth product to achieve the most adequate fractional Gabor spectrum (FrGS). Then, the Clustering by Fast Search and Find of Density Peaks algorithm reconstructs the sparse representation of the FrGS, remapping multi-component signals into single-component clusters. Bearing fault diagnosis is achieved by matching the relative order of each cluster with the bearing fault characteristic coefficients. Simulation signals validate the superiority of the feature extraction method, and experimental signals validate the feasibility of the bearing fault diagnosis method.

Abstract: Steam cooler is one of the most important mechanical equipment in thermal power generation system and nuclear power generation system. The steam cooler bears a huge temperature gradient load when the working conditions are switched. In order to analyze the thermal stress of steam cooler tube sheet with high temperature load under harsh working conditions, the thermal-structural coupling analysis model of steam cooler tube sheet is constructed with finite element method. The results show that the stress concentration exists at the position connection between heat exchanger tube and cylinder. The maximum stress is located at the outermost heat exchanger tube with the peak stress of 320MPa. The heat exchanger tube layout alone cause higher stress. This situation should be avoided in the design of heat exchanger tube sheet. Furthermore, the strength and safety of the steam cooler tube sheet are evaluated with the stress linearization method. The steam cooler tube sheet design meets the safety requirements of structural strength under high temperature load.
