Abstract:
Dermoscopy is the most widely used noninvasive imaging method for the assessment of skin lesions. However, in recent years various other in vivo imaging modalities have made remarkable development. With the use of these novel methods, it is possible to provide a more detailed visualization of the skin. The authors summarize the possible clinical uses of novel imaging tools including ultrasound, optical coherence tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. It is also aimed to summarize the use of new imaging modalities in the early diagnosis of a variety of skin diseases and their role to monitor treatment efficacy.
