Abstract: A finite cylindrical cavity expansion model for metallic thick targets with finite planar sizes, composed of ideal elastic-plastic materials, with penetration of high-speed long rod is presented by using the unified strength theory. Considering the lateral boundary and mass abrasion of the target, the penetration resistance and depth formulas are proposed, solutions of which are obtained by MATLAB program. Then, a series of different criteria-based analytical solutions are obtained and the ranges of penetration depth of targets with different ratios of target radius to projectile radius (rt/rd) are predicted. Meanwhile, the numerical simulation is performed using the ANSYS/LS-DYNA finite element code to investigate the variations in residual projectile velocity, length, and mass abrasion. It shows that various parameters have influences on the antipenetration performance of the target, such as the strength coefficient b, rt/rd, the shape of the projectile nose, and the impact velocity of the projectile, among which the penetration depth has increased by 18.95% as b = 1 decreases to b = 0 and has increased by 32.28% as rt/rd = 19.88 decreases to rt/rd = 4.9.

Abstract: Aims. We explored whether and how perilipin 2 (Plin2) protected islets against lipotoxicity-induced islet dysfunction by regulating islet stellate cells (ISCs) activation. Methods. Six-week-old male rats were given a high-fat diet or a control diet for 28 weeks. Glucose metabolic phenotypes were assessed using glucose/insulin tolerance tests, masson, and immunohistochemical staining. ISCs activation levels were assessed from rats and palmitic acid- (PA-) treated cultured ISCs by immunofluorescence, Oil red O staining, electron microscopy, quantitative PCR, and western blotting. Changes in ISCs phenotype of activation degree and its underlying mechanisms were assessed by target gene lentiviral infection, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and western blotting. Results. Obese rats showed glucose intolerance, decreased endocrine hormone profiles, and elevated expression of α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), a polygonal appearance without cytoplasmic lipid droplets of ISCs in rats and isolated islets. PA-treated cultured ISCs exhibited faster proliferation and migration abilities with the induction of mRNA levels of lipid metabolism proteins, especially Plin2. The overexpression of Plin2 resulted in ISCs “re-quiescent” phenotypes associated with inhibition of the Smad3-TGF-β signaling pathways. Conclusions. Our observations suggest a protective role of Plin2 in weakening ISCs activation. It may serve as a novel therapeutic target for preventing islet fibrosis for T2DM.

Abstract: With the continuous development of Internet technology, new opportunities and challenges have emerged in international trade. If it does not seize new opportunities and take measures to meet challenges, it will cause the development of international trade to enter a state of stagnation, especially when the current domestic demand has not shown a strong recovery. The emergence of cloud computing and the Internet of Things (CCIoT) has provided new technologies and means for the development of international trade. In order to accurately analyze the development policy of the international trade industry and provide strong technical support for the development of the international trade industry under the Internet of Things environment, this paper studies the development policy of the international trade industry in the context of CCIoT. This paper borrows the method of cloud computing and collects relevant data provided by development policies through the perception Internet layer. It is transmitted through the network layer, processed through the high-performance computing cloud, and finally transformed into useful information for the international trade industry. The test results show that the use of cloud computing technology can analyze the existing development policies, promote the development of the international trade industry, and improve the trade efficiency by 3.84%. This reduces the impact of various factors on international trade, while providing strong and good services to users in international trade.

Abstract: Objective. This study was aimed at comparing the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion on irritable bowel syndrome complicated with diarrhea (IBS-D) in adults and providing guidance for clinical treatment. Methods. PubMed, The Cochrane Library, Embase, CBM, CNKI, and VIP and Wanfang databases were searched to obtain clinical randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of IBS-D published from establishment of the database to August 5, 2021. Relevant data were extracted to assess the risk of bias in the included studies, and statistical software Stata 16.0 was used for meta-analysis. Results. Twenty-one studies were eventually included in the network meta-analysis (NMA), including 1626 patients with IBS-D and 8 therapeutic measures. NMA showed that acupuncture [ OR = 0.35 , 95 % CI   0.25 , 0.49 , P 〈 0.05 ], warming needle moxibustion [ OR = 6.34 , 95 % CI   2.83 , 14.21 , P 〈 0.05 ], acupuncture+sandwiched moxibustion [ OR = 12.83 , 95 % CI   4.49 , 36.64 , P 〈 0.05 ], acupuncture+heat-sensitive moxibustion [ OR = 9.86 , 95 % CI   1.77 , 55.00 , P 〈 0.05 ] were more effective than pinaverium bromide in the treatment of IBS-D. Cumulative ranking probability (SUCRA) showed that the comprehensive efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion (86.8%) and quality of life (QOL) (70.4%) was the best, while the comprehensive efficacy of pinaverium bromide (2.1%) and QOL (16.3%) was the worst. GV20, GV29, ST 25, ST37, ST36, SP6, LR3, and CV12 were used frequently. Conclusion. Acupuncture+sandwiched moxibustion has the best effect on improving the efficacy and QOL of IBS-D patients. Limited by the number and quality of studies, we still need a large sample, multicenter, and high-quality clinical trials to confirm our findings.

Abstract: Background. Mixed hemorrhoids are a common anorectal disorder, surgery is the most effective means of eradicating hemorrhoids, and pain is the most common postoperative complication of mixed hemorrhoids. Objective. To compare the clinical efficacy of auricular plaster, acupoint application, and acupoint catgut embedding for treating postoperative pain in mixed hemorrhoids. Method. PubMed, Embase, The Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, and CBM databases were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of three acupuncture-related therapies for postoperative pain in mixed hemorrhoids from the time of database creation to October 2021. After screening the literature, extracting information, and evaluating the risk of bias of included studies, statistical analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3 and Stata 15.0. Result. Forty-seven RCTs with a total of 5121 patients were included. Network meta-analysis (NMA) showed that auricular plaster ( OR = 5.90 , 95% CI = 2.02 , 17.21 ) and acupoint catgut embedding therapy ( OR = 5.55 , 95% CI = 1.01 , 30.40 ) were more effective than analgesics in the treatment of postoperative pain in mixed hemorrhoids. The cumulative ranking probability (SUCRA) showed that acupoint application (73.6%) had the best overall efficacy and the rest were auricular plaster (68.7%), acupoint catgut embedding therapy (64.6%), auricular plaster combined with acupoint application (63.4%), and pain medication (8.9%) in that order. Secondly, auricular plaster ( OR = − 0.93 , 95% CI = − 1.66 , − 0.20 ), acupoint catgut embedding ( OR = − 0.8 , 95% CI = − 1.50 , − 0.10 ), and acupoint application ( OR = − 1.4 , 95% CI = − 2.50 , − 0.31 ) all led to a significant decrease in pain scores and were all more effective than analgesics. As ranked by SUCRA, the results showed that the efficacy of acupoint application (73.5%) was optimal and the rest were auricular plaster (56.1%), acupoint catgut embedding (50.2%), and pain medication (15.3%) in that order. In terms of pain degree, acupoint application ( OR = 3.83 , 95% CI = 1.25 , 11.74 ) was significantly better than pain medication. Conclusion. Acupoint application can improve the overall efficiency, reduce pain scores, and relieve the degree of postoperative pain in mixed hemorrhoids.

Abstract: Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of renal tubular epithelial cells is a vital mechanism of renal fibrosis. Mounting evidence suggests that miR-200a expression decreases in tubular epithelial cells in unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO) rats. Moreover, it has been demonstrated that Huai Qi Huang (HQH) can ameliorate tubulointerstitial damage in adriamycin nephrosis and delay kidney dysfunction in primary glomerular disease. However, the effect of HQH on EMT of tubular epithelial cells in UUO rats and its molecular mechanism is unclear. In order to explore the effect of HQH on EMT and its molecular mechanism in renal fibrosis, in vitro and in vivo experiments were performed in our study. Our results showed that HQH increased miR-200a expression in UUO rats and in TGF- β 1 stimulated NRK-52E cells. Meanwhile, HQH decreased ZEB1 and ZEB2 (the transcriptional repressors of E-cadherin), α -SMA expression in renal tubular epithelial cells in vitro and in vivo . Furthermore, we found that HQH protected kidney from fibrosis in UUO rats. The results demonstrated that HQH regulated miR-200a/ZEBs pathway and inhibited EMT process, which may be a mechanism of protecting effect on tubular cells in renal fibrosis.

Abstract: Objectives. The association between platelet distribution width (PDW) and mortality in hemodialysis (HD) patients has received little attention. Methods. We retrospectively enrolled HD patients in a single center from January 1, 2008, to December 30, 2011. The primary and secondary endpoints were all-cause and cardiovascular mortality, respectively. The association between PDW and mortality was estimated by Cox regression model. Results. Of 496 patients, the mean age was 52.5 ± 16.6 years, and the Charlson comorbidity index was 4.39 ± 1.71. During the follow-up period of 48.8 ± 6.7 months, 145 patients (29.2%) died, including 74 (14.9%) cardiovascular deaths. 258 (52.0%) with PDW  〈  16.31% were in the low group and 238 (48.0%) in those with PDW ≥ 16.31% according to cut-off for all-cause mortality by receiving-operator characteristics. After adjusting for confounding factors, high PDW values were independently associated with higher risk of all-cause (hazards ratio (HR) = 1.49, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.15–6.82) and cardiovascular deaths (HR = 2.26, 95% CI 1.44–3.63) in HD patients. When comparing with quartile 1 of PDW, quartile 4 of PDW was independently associated with a higher risk of all-cause (HR = 1.59, 95% CI 1.18–5.30) and cardiovascular deaths (HR = 2.71, 95% CI 1.49–3.76) in HD patients. Conclusions. Baseline PDW was independently associated with all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in HD patients.

Abstract: Colon cancer (COAD) is a leading cause of cancer mortality in the world. Most patients with COAD die as a result of cancer cell metastasis. However, the mechanisms underlying the metastatic phenotype of COAD remain unclear. Instead, particular features of the tumor microenvironment (TME) could predict adverse outcomes including metastasis in patients with COAD, and the role of TME in governing COAD progression is undeniable. Therefore, exploring the role of TME in COAD may help us better understand the molecular mechanisms behind COAD progression which may improve clinical outcomes and quality of patients. Here, we identified a Specific TME Regulatory Network including AEBP1, BGN, POST, and FAP (STMERN) that is highly involved in clinical outcomes of patients with COAD. Comprehensive in silico analysis of our study revealed that the STMERN is highly correlated with the severity of COAD. Meanwhile, our results reveal that the STMERN might be associated with immune infiltration in COAD. Importantly, we show that dihydroartemisinin (DHA) potentially interacts with the STMERN. We suggest that DHA might contribute to immune infiltration through regulating the STMERN in COAD. Taken together, our data provide a set of biomarkers of progression and poor prognosis in COAD. These findings could have potential prognostic and therapeutic implications in the progression of COAD.

Abstract: Systematic reviews of moxibustion for LDH have identified ponderable evidence, especially for heat-sensitive moxibustion (HSM). Therefore, we designed and carried out the large sample trial to evaluate it. 456 patients were recruited from 4 centers in China and were randomly divided into three groups by the ratio of 1 : 1 : 1 to HSM (152) group, conventional moxibustion (152) group, and conventional drug plus acupuncture (152) group. Compared with usual care, there was a statistically significant reduction in mean M-JOA score at 2 weeks and 6 months for HSM (3.8 ± 2.6 versus 8.5 ± 2.9; 3.7 ± 2.2 versus 10.1 ± 2.9) and conventional moxibustion (7.9 ± 3.0 versus 8.5 ± 2.9; 8.9 ± 3.1 versus 10.1 ± 2.9). Compared with conventional moxibustion group, HSM group showed greater improvement in all the outcomes. The mean dose of moxibustion was 41.13 ± 5.26 (range 21–60) minutes in the HSM group. We found that HSM was more effective in treating patients with LDH, compared with conventional moxibustion and conventional drug plus acupuncture. This finding indicated that the application of moxibustion on the heat-sensitive points is a good moxibustion technique in treating disease.

Abstract: RFID (radio frequency identification) is an emerging technology for automatic identification of physical objects using radio frequency. The security and privacy of the system is increasingly concerned and some light-weight encryption schemes such as Trivium and Bivium have been proposed. In this paper, the internal structure of Bivium is exploited and generalized to an algorithm called Bivium-Model. It is shown that the original Bivium has its inherent imperfections due to the improper parameter selection. A set of better parameters are given out to fix the security vulnerability of original Bivium. Emulation results also show that the Enhanced-Bivium algorithm achieves lower power consumption and lower die size.
