Abstract: For practical purposes, the curtain grouting method is an effective method to treat geological disasters and can be used to improve the strength and permeability resistance of surrounding rock. Selection of the optimal parameters of grouting reinforcement cycle especially reinforcement cycle thickness is one of the most interesting areas of research in curtain grouting designs. Based on the fluid-structure interaction theory and orthogonal analysis method, the influence of reinforcement cycle thickness, elastic modulus, and permeability on water inflow of tunnel after grouting and stability of surrounding rock was analyzed. As to the water inflow of tunnel after grouting used as performance evaluation index of grouting reinforcement cycle, it can be concluded that the permeability was the most important factor followed by reinforcement cycle thickness and elastic modulus. Furthermore, pore water pressure field, stress field, and plastic zone of surrounding rock were calculated by using COMSOL software under different conditions of reinforcement cycle thickness. It also can be concluded that the optimal thickness of reinforcement cycle and permeability can be adopted as 8 m and 1/100 of the surrounding rock permeability in the curtain grouting reinforcement cycle. The engineering case provides a reference for similar engineering.

Abstract: Vast amounts of allergen sequence data have been accumulated, thus complicating the identification of specific allergenic proteins when performing diagnostic allergy tests and immunotherapy. This study aims to rank the importance/potency of the allergens so as to logically reduce the number of allergens and/or allergenic sources. Meta-analysis of 62 allergenic sources used for intradermal testing on 3,335 allergic patients demonstrated that in southern China, mite, sesame, spiny amaranth, Pseudomonas aeruginosa , and house dust account for 88.0% to 100% of the observed positive reactions to the 62 types of allergenic sources tested. The Kolmogorov-Smironov Test results of the website-obtained allergen data and allergen family featured peptides suggested that allergen research in laboratories worldwide has been conducted in parallel on many of the same species. The major allergens were reduced to 21 representative allergens, which were further divided into seven structural classes, each of which contains similar structural components. This study therefore has condensed numerous allergenic sources and major allergens into fewer major representative ones, thus allowing for the use of a smaller number of allergens when conducting comprehensive allergen testing and immunotherapy treatments.

Abstract: The depletion of nonrenewable energy and climate lead to increasingly bad environment. The efficient development of new energy has become an urgent problem to be solved. As a kind of new energy, how to effectively develop and utilize wind energy has aroused widespread concern all over the world. In this paper, a three-phase static a-b-c coordinate system is used for transformation. Taking the variable-speed constant-frequency doubly fed wind power generation system as the control object, the technology of generator power decoupling control is realized. The rotor side and grid side power converters adopt vector control methods based on stator flux orientation and grid voltage orientation, respectively. In this paper, the motion equation, flux equation, voltage equation, and electromagnetic torque equation of the motor are established. Vector-oriented control technology is used to control the generator. The control model of the VSCF doubly fed wind power generation system is established by using the simulation software PSCAD, and the simulation experiment is carried out. The feasibility of the power decoupling control method based on vector control is verified. The change trend of the active power of the power generation system is consistent with that of the wind speed, which shows that the control system has good stability. Using the field-oriented vector control method, the dual PWM controller can independently control the active power and reactive power. This greatly simplifies the nondecoupling control function equation in the expression. The dual PWM controller is well adjusted to minimize the power loss of the wind power generation system.

Abstract: Two-implant-retained mandibular overdentures with magnetic attachments can provide an effective treatment modality for edentulous patients. In this study, a three-dimensional finite element analysis was used to compare the biomechanical characteristics of three different types of magnetic attachments in two-implant-retained mandibular overdentures. Flat-type, dome-type, and cushion-type of the magnetic attachments were designed to retain the overdenture. Four types of load were applied to the overdenture in each model: 100 N vertical and oblique loads on the right first molar and a 100 N vertical load on the right canine and the lower incisors. The biomechanical behaviors of peri-implant bone, abutment, and mucosa were recorded. In vertical incisors, vertical right canine, and oblique molar loading condition, the flat-type group exhibited the highest levels of maximum equivalent strain/stress in the peri-implant bone. The total deformation of mucosa and the maximum equivalent strain/stress in the oblique molar loading condition are about two times as the vertical molar loading condition. These results suggested that both cushion-type and dome-type of the magnetic attachments are better choices in two-implant-retained mandibular overdentures, and oblique loading is more harmful than vertical loading.

Abstract: As a common water conveyance structure, aqueduct is widely used in cross-regional water conveyance and diversion projects. However, large double-trough aqueduct structures are prone to damage under earthquake, resulting in water leakage and even interruption, endangering the safety of people’s lives and property in surrounding areas. In this paper, the nonlinear reinforced-concrete material program is compiled based on the FORTRAN language. Taking the Shuangji River aqueduct project as an example, the numerical model of the fiber beam element of the double-trough aqueduct structure is established, and the nonlinear dynamic time-history response analysis of different ground motion inputs is carried out. Based on the midspan displacement and acceleration time history, pier bottom bending moment and shear force time history, the nonlinear response law of large aqueduct structure is studied. A criterion for determining the overall collapse of aqueduct structure based on effective energy is proposed. The correctness and feasibility of the nonlinear numerical model of the aqueduct structure and the dynamic catastrophe analysis method are verified by focusing on the overall seismic response of the aqueduct structure and the material yield status of key parts, and comparing with the collapse criterion based on the limit value of pier top displacement angle. The conclusions will provide a basis for seismic analysis, optimization design, and operation and maintenance safety assessment of large aqueduct structures and have important theoretical significance and engineering application value.

Abstract: The lack of effective treatment for liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinomas imposes serious challenges to the healthcare system. Here, we investigated the efficacy and mechanism of liquiritigenin involved in preventing or retarding the progression of liver diseases in a rat model with chronic carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) exposure. Sprague Dawley rats were given CCl4 and lliquiritigenin alone or simultaneously for 8 weeks before liver was harvested to check histological changes by Hematoxylin and Eosin (H & E) staining, apoptosis by TUNEL assay, ROS by dihydroethidium staining, antioxidant enzyme activities and malondialdehyde using specific kits, and gene expression by quantitative real-time PCR and western blot. Chronic CCl4 exposure caused profound changes in liver histology with extensive hepatocyte death (necrosis and apoptosis), fat accumulation, and infiltration of inflammatory cells, accompanied by depressed activities of antioxidant enzymes, increased oxidative stress, elevated expression of inflammation and fibrotic genes, and downregulation of PGC-1 α , ND1, and Bcl-x in rat liver. All these changes were abolished or alleviated by lliquiritigenin. The results demonstrated that liquiritigenin is effective in protecting liver from injury or treating chronic liver diseases. The modulation of PGC-1 α and its downstream genes might play a critical role in relieving CCl4-induced hepatic pathogenesis by liquiritigenin.

Abstract: Background. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) play an important role in many cancer progression. The aim of this study was to evaluate the expression level and clinical significance of the lncRNA, proliferating cell nuclear antigen pseudogene 1 (PCNAP1), in cancer tissue and the plasma of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was used to detect the expression of PCNAP1 in HCC tissue, adjacent tissue, and plasma. Spearman’s rank correlation analysis was performed to assess relationships among cancer tissue, plasma PCNAP1, and plasma AFP. Kaplan–Meier analysis was used to assess survival of HCC patient with high and low expression of PCNAP1. The survival difference was compared by the log-rank test. The use of plasma levels PCNAP1 for diagnosing HCC was evaluated by receiver operating characteristic curve analysis. Results. The expression of PCNAP1 in HCC tissue was significantly higher than in adjacent tissue ( P 〈 0.01 ). The PCNAP1 levels were related to the TNM stage, lymph node metastasis, and tumor maximum diameter ( P 〈 0.05 ) but were not related to gender and age ( P = 0.459 and 0.656). Patients with greater levels of PCNAP1 had poorer survival than patients with lower levels of expression ( P 〈 0.01 ). Compared to the healthy control group, a gastric cancer group, and a colorectal cancer group, HCC patient plasma levels of PCNAP1 were significantly greater ( P 〈 0.01 ). The area under the curve (AUC) of plasma PCNAP1 in HCC patients was 0.83 (95% CI: 0.78-0.88). With a cut-off value of plasma PCNAP1 at 1.27, an HCC diagnostic sensitivity of 70.08%, and a specificity of 85.04%, was the maximum diagnostic efficiency achieved. Conclusion. This study demonstrates PCNAP1 levels to be increased in HCC patients. As such, PCNAP1 may be a new tool useful in disease diagnosis and prognosis.

Abstract: In the shaft axis monitoring of hydrogenerating unit condition monitoring and fault diagnosis, the shaft orbit is intuitive and comprehensively reflects the unit operation state, and different shaft orbits correspond to different fault types, which can accurately indicate a system vibration fault. Shaft orbit identification has important significance for vibration fault diagnosis. In getting the feature extraction and pattern recognition of a shaft orbit, the Zernike moment is better than the Hu moment; it has the advantages of a small calculation error and a high recognition rate. A rough set neural network (RS-BP hybrid model) of shaft orbit recognition is established, which uses just 13 moment eigenvalues reserved by the rough set feature selection algorithm as input variables; it has the same calculation error and recognition rate and reduces the calculation time step. The simulation of the recognition of shaft orbits shows that the hybrid model has achieved good results in the identification of shaft orbits.
