    Abstract: There is growing evidence that microRNA-148b (miR-148b) can inhibit the growth of malignant cells while sirtuin 7 (SIRT7) may perform its carcinogenic effect by deacetylating H3K18. This study investigated the mechanism of miR-148b/SIRT7 on how it affects the malignant biological behavior of melanoma. It was established that the expression of miR-148b was downregulated in melanoma while that of SIRT7 was upregulated but negatively regulated by miR-148b through binding to the 3 ′ UTR of SIRT7. Ectopic expression of miR-148b reduced the proliferation, migration, and invasion of melanoma cells, but SIRT7 reversed these functions of miR-148b. Moreover, tumor growth and metastasis experiments showed that miR-148b could significantly suppress proliferation and metastasis of melanoma in vivo. Overall, miR-148b inhibits the malignant biological behavior of melanoma by reducing the expression level of SIRT7. The development of miR-148b as a novel potential therapeutic approach for melanoma may be possible in the future.

    Abstract: In terms of the degradation of mechanical parameters of rock mass in the hydrofluctuation belt of a reservoir bank slope arising from rainfall and the reservoir level fluctuation, the moderately weathered sandstone in a side slope of the Three Gorges Reservoir Region is selected as a research object to carry out “drying-saturation-drying” tests for disks with two thicknesses ( h = 25  mm, h = 50  mm) in different cycles; a spiral CT machine, an ultrasonic velocity meter, and a light Schmidt hammer are utilzed to conduct nondestructive testing on dry-wet cycles; through the Brazilian splitting test, the uniaxial tensile strength of “dry” and “saturated” sandstones under different dry-wet cycles is obtained. The research shows that, with the increase of the dry-wet circles ( n ), the longitudinal wave velocity and the rebound strength of sandstones are linearly decreased with n ; the uniaxial tensile strength of sandstones and the mean CT number of cross sections are logarithmically decreased with n ; the fitting equation of macro/micromechanical parameters and dry-wet cycles ( n ) of sandstones is raised, which is provided as a reference basis for the weathering process of sandstones under dry-wet cycles.

    Abstract: Recently, researchers have shown that coverless steganography is relatively safe. On this basis, to improve the payload of the coverless steganography, a novel semiconstruction coverless steganography algorithm is introduced in the paper. Firstly, web crawler technology is applied to crawl a wide range of small icons and hot news images from the Internet. These icons can be used as the training subset, and the hot news can be designed according to construction rules. Secondly, the Alex-Net network is introduced for training in the algorithm, and the adversarial samples are added to the training set. Thirdly, using the preset template, certain small icons and a hot news image are spliced into a secret carrier image according to the construction principle. The hot news image is in the top half of the carrier, and those small icons are in the bottom half. The image on the upper part of the carrier and the icons of the lower part can be connected by image and text semantics, and the semantic matching can be realized between image semantics and explanatory. The experimental results and analysis show that the proposed algorithm can resist steganalysis tools effectively and has good robustness against various image attacks. Meanwhile, the secret information payload has been greatly improved, the maximum payload can reach 180 bits of a single 512 × 512 image. This promising algorithm can be applied to build covert communications.
