Abstract: In order to explore the clinical effect of color Doppler ultrasonography in the diagnosis of subacute thyroiditis, a method for the diagnosis of subacute thyroiditis by color Doppler ultrasonography was proposed. From November 2019 to November 2020, 90 patients with subacute thyroiditis in our hospital were selected as the experimental group; 90 healthy people were selected as the control group during the same period. Both groups were diagnosed by color Doppler ultrasonography and compared. The experimental results showed that patients with subacute thyroiditis showed mild to moderate enlargement of the involved thyroid gland, and local or diffuse inhomogeneous hypoechoic areas may appear in bilateral or unilateral thyroid glands: irregular edges, unclear boundaries, no “ball feel,” mottled changes, and accompanied by tenderness. The blood flow signal around the hypoechoic area is rich, and the internal blood flow signal is less. There was no significant increase in the blood flow velocity of the superior thyroid artery on the affected side. Color Doppler ultrasound not only is simple, economical, and non-invasive but also has a good diagnostic accuracy for subacute thyroiditis, which can provide an important basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment and is worthy of popularization and application.

Abstract: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a complication of atherosclerosis-related cardiovascular illness that is caused by prolonged ischemia. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are concentrated in extracellular vesicles (EVs) and have been linked to cardiovascular disease. However, additional research is needed into the expression and function of circRNAs in AMI. In this study, circITGB1 (has_circRNA_0018146), derived from exon 1 of the ITGB1 gene localized on chromosome 10, was shown to be considerably increased in plasma from patients with AMI compared to healthy controls, as demonstrated by the comparison of EV-circRNA expression patterns. Using a luciferase screening assay and a biotin-labeled circITGB1 probe to identify microRNA(s) complementary to circITGB1 sequences, we discovered that circITGB1 competitively binds to miR-342-3p and inhibits its expression, which in turn increase the expression of NFAT activating molecule 1 (NFAM1). Based on western blotting and immunological studies, circITGB1 controls dendritic cell maturation by targeting miR-342-3p and NFAM1. circITGB1 also exacerbated cardiac damage and regulated miR-342-3p and NFAM1 expression in a mouse AMI model. This implies that EV-circITGB1 is involved in dendritic cell maturation and cardiac damage via miR-342-3p/NFAM1, and that is linked to AMI-associated pathogenic processes.

Abstract: Background and Aims. Elevated serum uric acid (SUA) is associated with an increased risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD); however, whether this association is causal is undetermined. Methods. Each participant from the Dongfeng-Tongji cohort study based on 27,009 retirees was interviewed face-to-face following a clinical examination. Covariance, logistic regression analysis, and instrumental variables were used to assess associations between SUA and (severity of) NAFLD and the causal link. Results. Among 8,429 subjects free of NAFLD at baseline, 2,007 participants developed NAFLD after 5 years of follow-up. The multivariable-adjusted odds ratio (OR) for NAFLD for individuals in the fourth quartile of SUA level versus those in the first was 1.71 (95% CI: 1.45-2.01, P for trend 〈 0.001) and was more dramatic in women or normal-weight persons. Furthermore, SUA was materially associated with greater mean markers of hepatic necroinflammation and greater probabilities of fibrosis. In genetic analyses, both single nucleotide polymorphisms (rs11722228 to SLC2A9 and rs2231142 to ABCG2) were pronouncedly associated with increased SUA concentrations, ranging from 0.19 to 0.22 mg/dl. No significant associations were observed between SNPs and potential confounders. No association was observed between the SUA-increasing allele and NAFLD, with an OR of 0.98 (95% CI: 0.90-1.08) per genetic score. This was not significantly different ( P = 0.25 ) from what was expected (1.03, 95% CI: 1.03-1.03). Conclusions. SUA was positively associated with NAFLD incidence especially in female and normal-weight individuals and the suspected progression risk of newly developed NAFLD. However, the Mendelian randomization analyses lend no causal evidence, suggesting high SUA as a marker and not a cause of NAFLD.

Abstract: The role of health education in vaccination is very important. Through various forms of activities, comprehensive and systematic education of health knowledge for people can promote students and others to be aware of vaccination and actively cooperate with vaccination work. Therefore, this article intends to conduct an in-depth study of the role of health education in prevention and treatment and to enhance people’s awareness of vaccination. This article mainly uses questionnaire survey method, interview method, and controlled experiment to explain and analyze the effect of health education. The subjects of this questionnaire are students, parents, and staff. They have mixed reviews for its role in vaccination, but the overall situation is positive. 239 out of 500 people believe that health education can reduce allergic reactions and improve the effectiveness of vaccines. In the control experiment, after health education and publicity training, the parents of the observation group were significantly better than the control group in terms of mastering the relevant knowledge of vaccination, successfully vaccinating unplanned vaccines, etc. This shows that the importance of health education in vaccination care is incomparable.

Abstract: A numerical algorithm based on finite element method (FEM) and boundary element method (BEM) is proposed for the analyses of acoustic-structure coupled problems. By this algorithm, the structural domain and the acoustic domain are modelled by FEM and BEM, respectively, which are coupled with each other through the consideration of the appropriate compatibility and equilibrium conditions on the interface of the two domains. To improve the computational efficiency, the adaptive cross approximation (ACA) approach is incorporated into the proposed algorithm to deal with the nonsymmetric and fully populated matrices resulting from the coupling of the FEM and BEM. The validity and the high efficiency of the present approach are demonstrated by two examples.

Abstract: Purpose . To investigate the association between CpG island methylator phenotype (CIMP) and the overall survival of sporadic colorectal cancer (CRC) in Northeast China. Methods . 282 sporadic CRC patients were recruited in this study. We selected MLH1 , MGMT , p16 , APC , MINT1 , MINT31 , and RUNX3 as the CIMP panel markers. The promoter methylation was assessed by methylation sensitive high resolution melting (MS-HRM). Proportional hazards-regression models were fitted with computing hazard ratios (HR) and the corresponding 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). Results . 12.77% (36/282) of patients were CIMP-0, 74.1% (209/282) of patients were CIMP-L, and 13.12% (37/282) of patients were CIMP-H. The five-year survival of the 282 CRC patients was 58%. There was significant association between APC gene promoter methylation and CRC overall survival (HR = 1.61; 95% CI: 1.05–2.46; P = 0.03 ). CIMP-H was significantly associated with worse prognosis compared to CIMP-0 (HR = 3.06; 95% CI: 1.19–7.89; P = 0.02 ) and CIMP-L (HR = 1.97; 95% CI: 1.11–3.48; P = 0.02 ), respectively. While comparing with the combine of CIMP-L and CIMP-0 (CIMP-L/0), CIMP-H also presented a worse prognosis (HR = 2.31; 95% CI: 1.02–5.24; P = 0.04 ). Conclusion . CIMP-H may be a predictor of a poor prognosis of CRC in Northeast China patients.

Abstract: Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have been developed rapidly in recent years. How to modify the photophysical properties of perovskite films has become the critical issue, affecting device performance. In this paper, NaI doping into the perovskite layer is attempted to modulate the photophysical properties to improve the performance of PSCs. The perovskite layer was prepared by using the one-step solution spin coating method with doping different concentrations of NaI into the perovskite precursor solution and chlorobenzene employed as the antisolvent. Experimental results show that the absorption band edge and the peak position of the PL spectrum of the doped perovskite thin film were red shifted; thus, the band gap of the semiconductor film became narrow. Doping NaI into perovskite is an effective way, by which the photophysical properties of perovskite films are well modified, thus improving device performance.

Abstract: We present an efficient algorithm based on the robust Chinese remainder theorem (CRT) to perform single frequency determination from multiple undersampled waveforms. The optimal estimate of common remainder in robust CRT, which plays an important role in the final frequency estimation, is first discussed. To avoid the exhausted searching in the optimal estimation, we then provide an improved algorithm with the same performance but less computation. Besides, the sufficient and necessary condition of the robust estimation was proposed. Numerical examples are also provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and related conclusions.

Abstract: This paper introduces an invariant Hough random ferns (IHRF) incorporating rotation and scale invariance into the local feature description, random ferns classifier training, and Hough voting stages. It is especially suited for object detection under changes in object appearance and scale, partial occlusions, and pose variations. The efficacy of this approach is validated through experiments on a large set of challenging benchmark datasets, and the results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art conventional methods such as bounding-box-based and part-based methods. Additionally, we also propose an efficient clustering scheme based on the local patches’ appearance and their geometric relations that can provide pixel-accurate, top-down segmentations from IHRF back-projections. This refined segmentation can be used to improve the quality of online object tracking because it avoids the drifting problem. Thus, an online tracking framework based on IHRF, which is trained and updated in each frame to distinguish and segment the object from the background, is established. Finally, the experimental results on both object segmentation and long-term object tracking show that this method yields accurate and robust tracking performance in a variety of complex scenarios, especially in cases of severe occlusions and nonrigid deformations.
