    Kurzfassung: Objective. Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a rare neurodevelopmental disorder often associated with intractable epilepsy, and surgical resection is the effective therapeutic approach to alleviate seizures in TSC patients. Scalp electroencephalogram (EEG) is a noninvasive method used to diagnose epilepsy; however, the relationship between scalp video-EEG findings and postsurgical seizure outcomes has not been fully evaluated in TSC patients. Materials and Methods. The relationship between clinical characteristics and seizure outcomes of TSC patients with 1-year, 5-year, and 10-year follow-ups was retrospectively analyzed. We explored the association of interictal epileptiform discharges (IEDs) with postsurgical seizure outcomes. Further, the differences in clinical characteristics among four IED patterns (focal, lateralized, multifocal, and generalized IEDs) were assessed. Results. A total of 82 patients were enrolled in this study. There were 82 patients with 1-year follow-up, 75 patients with 5-year follow-up, and 57 patients with 10-year follow-up, and the IEDs were associated with the postsurgical outcomes. Patients with focal, lateralized, and generalized IEDs had seizure freedom (SF) in 1-year follow-up, respectively. Intriguingly, patients with lateralized IEDs had long-term SF in 5-year and 10-year follow-ups. Conclusions. A significant association existed between IEDs and long-term postsurgical outcomes in TSC patients. TSC patients with lateralized IEDs often showed long-term SF and mild clinical epileptic characteristics. According to our study, IEDs may guide clinical care for TSC patients with intractable epilepsy.

    Kurzfassung: Wireless sensor networks provide a promising technology to surveil overhead transmission lines in smart grid communication. However, a great challenge for researchers is proposed by adverse outdoor environments and essential requirements of strong as well as flexible smart grid communication. Specifically, nearly linear topology, limited energy, and tolerance for faults are entangled to make the surveillance system complex. Because of the need for deep understanding of system, significant efforts have been made in the past few years. We have proposed a fault-tolerance framework for surveillance of overhead transmission lines. In this paper, we follow the framework and further explore deployment problems systematically. Firstly, we present a fault-tolerance placement model. After analyzing the model, we identify the optimal placement for fault tolerance and then propose a placement algorithm with optimal deployment. An extensive experiment highlights some useful observations for design of the fault-tolerance system and demonstrates efficient fault tolerance for relay nodes. Numerical results show that the fault-tolerance ratio is improved by at least 6 % compared to that of previous algorithms.

    Kurzfassung: Experiments were conducted to remove NO from simulated flue gas in a rotating packed bed (RPB) reactor with NaClO 2 as wet scrubbing oxidant and diesel exhaust gas as carrier gas. The effects of various operating parameters (rotational speed, solution pH, NaClO 2 concentration, liquid-gas ratio, and NO and SO 2 concentrations) on NO removal performance were investigated preliminarily. The results showed that with the increase of rotational speed, oxidant concentration, and liquid-gas ratio, NO removal efficiency increased obviously. NO removal efficiency increased largely with the decrease of solution pH, and a complete removal of NO could be attained at pH 4. NO concentration imposed little effect on NO removal efficiency while coexisting SO 2 in exhaust gas could enhance NO x removal greatly.

    Kurzfassung: Background. This study was designed to investigate differences in biochemical parameters between mouse and humans after paraquat (PQ) poisoning and develop a suitable animal model for studying organ damage after PQ poisoning. The prognostic factors of PQ-poisoned patients were further analyzed. Methods. Thirty C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into five groups (control, sham, and 3 PQ doses), and the mouse model was established by intragastric administration of PQ. Physiological indexes such as the body weight, mental state, and mortality rate were observed. Biochemical parameters were analyzed 24 h after PQ poisoning. We also performed a retrospective analysis of clinical data from 29 patients with PQ poisoning admitted to the Emergency Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Taishan Medical College between April 2016 and February 2018. Biochemical parameters were compared between the mouse model and patients with PQ poisoning. Results. In the PQ poisoning mouse model, the lethal dose group PQ360 showed remarkable increases in serum levels of potassium (K+), carbon dioxide (CO2), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) compared with the nonlethal dose PQ100 and PQ200 groups. The biochemical results of the patients showed that K+ and Cl- levels were significantly reduced in the death group compared to the survival group. Levels of ALT, AST, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and amylase were higher, and the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) was increased in the death group compared with the survival group. Conclusions. The combination of age, PQ dosage, K+, Cl-, BUN, ALT, AST, amylase, and NLR can be used to more accurately predict the outcome of patients with PQ poisoning. C57 mice are an appropriate animal model to study liver and kidney functions following PQ exposure.

    Kurzfassung: In recent years, wireless sensor network technology has developed rapidly and its role in managing systems for sports events has been widely used. Wireless sensor networks not only have low wiring cost, high monitoring accuracy, and good fault tolerance but also can be monitored remotely and have outstanding advantages in fault diagnosis and safety monitoring. In this paper, firstly, the wireless sensor network hierarchical routing protocol is studied and its network model and workflow are analyzed; according to the energy consumption of the wireless sensor network, the selection method of the optimal number of cluster heads is proposed to analyze the advantages and disadvantages existing in the protocol. Secondly, the improvement of the routing protocol is proposed to address the problems of uneven distribution of cluster heads and cluster head election without considering the residual energy of nodes in the protocol. When dividing clusters, the number of neighboring nodes is considered so that cluster heads are distributed more evenly in the network; when electing cluster heads, the residual energy of nodes in the cluster is considered to balance the whole network load, and when electing cluster heads, the residual energy of nodes in the cluster is considered to balance the whole network load. Finally, simulation experiments are conducted in this paper using simulation software, and the simulation results show that the data fusion algorithm is more effective than the protocol in reducing the average energy consumption of nodes and extending the network lifetime; these features make wireless sensors more beneficial for better management of sporting events as well as better optimization.

    Kurzfassung: Limited data were available about the combined impact of systolic blood pressure (SBP) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels on intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) prognosis. The objective of this study is to explore whether the relationship between LDL-C and ICH outcomes was modified by SBP levels in a Chinese population. From August 1, 2015, to July 31, 2019, 75,443 ICH patients enrolled from the Chinese Stroke Center Alliance program were included in our study. Patients were divided into LDL-C levels of 〈 70 mg/dL, 70-100 mg/dL, and ≥100 mmol/L. SBP was stratified as 〈 140 mmHg, 140-180 mmHg, and ≥180 mmHg. The primary outcome was the occurrence of hematoma expansion (HE), and the second outcome was in-hospital mortality. Correlation between LDL-C levels and SBP on ICH outcomes were assessed by logistic regression. 6,116 (8.1%) and 1,576 (2.1%) patients suffered HE and in-hospital mortality. Compared with the ≥100 mg/dL group, patients with LDL-C concentrations under 70 mg/dL had a 19% and 24% increase in the relative risk of HE (crude OR 1.19, 95% CI 1.11-1.28) and in-hospital mortality (crude OR 1.24, 95% CI 1.08-1.42). When SBP was added as a stratification variable, the above-mentioned association was attenuated in patients under a threshold SBP of 140 mmHg ( P 〉 0.05 ). However, no statistical interaction was detected between SBP and LDL-C levels. Lower LDL-C levels ( 〈 70 mg/dL) are related to a higher risk of HE and in-hospital mortality confined to ICH patients with elevated SBP (≥140 mmHg).

    Kurzfassung: Recent studies have claimed that iron overload was correlated with the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and our previous studies have also demonstrated that dandelion polysaccharide (DP) suppressed HCC cell line proliferation via causing cell cycle arrest and inhibiting the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway, but the effect of DP on metabolism is still not very clear. Here, we aim to clarify the effects of DP on iron metabolism and the underlying mechanism. In this study, we found that DP could reduce iron burden in hepatoma cells and grafted tumors. Hepcidin is a central regulator in iron metabolism. We confirmed that the expression of hepcidin in HCC tumor tissues was significantly higher than that in the adjacent nontumor tissues. The expression of hepcidin was downregulated in the liver of mouse model treatment with DP, as well as in hepatoma cells. Moreover, RNA sequencing and western blot data revealed that DP inhibited the IL-6-activated JAK-STAT signaling pathway. In summary, our results revealed that DP might be a new potential drug candidate for the regulation of iron burden and the treatment of HCC.

    Kurzfassung: Objective. Explore the factors affecting the QO of life after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and analyze and evaluate their surgical efficacy and postoperative survival status. Methods. Through correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis, we predict various clinical characteristics and postoperative quality and predict clinical changes in L postoperative quality. Results. The quality of life of patients with the disease has gradually improved and improved from 6 months after surgery. The differences in the three aspects of its physiological mechanism function, physiological function function, overall health, and vitality are statistically significant ( p 〈 0.05 ). Conclusion. Compared with traditional open-thoracic aortic valve (AV) surgery, TAVR has the significant advantages of smaller surgical incision and less trauma to the patient, which has become one of the reasons why patients are willing to accept it.

    Kurzfassung: Objective . To compare the difference in clinical and radiographic outcomes between anterior transcorporeal and transdiscal percutaneous endoscopic cervical discectomy (ATc-PECD/ATd-PECD) approaches for treating patients with cervical intervertebral disc herniation (CIVDH). Method . We selected 77 patients with single-segment CIVDH and received ATc-PECD or ATd-PECD in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University between March 1, 2010, and July 1, 2015. 35 patients suffered from ATc-PECD, and there were 42 patients in the ATd-PECD group. Obtaining the data of 1, 3, 6, 12, and 24 months postoperatively, the VAS for neck and arm pain and the modified MacNab criteria were used to evaluate the clinical outcomes, comparing radiographic outcomes and complications of these two groups. Results . We found that the mean operative time was significantly longer in the ATc-PECD group ( P 〈 0.05 ). At the 2-year follow-up, the mean VAS score for neck and arm pain was significantly decreased in both two groups. There was no significant difference in the VAS score for arm pain and neck pain between the two groups at the 2-year follow-up ( P = 0.783 and P = 0.785 , respectively). For the ATc-PECD group, the difference in the height of IVS or vertebral body was significant between the preoperative and postoperative groups ( P 〈 0.05 , respectively). For the ATd-PECD group, there was only a significant decrease in the height of the IVS ( P 〈 0.05 ); the decrease in the surgical vertebral body was not significant between the preoperative and postoperative groups ( P 〉 0.05 ). Conclusion . In the 2-year follow-up, there is no significant difference in the clinical outcomes between the 2 approaches. While the longer time was consumed in the ATc-PECD group, the lower rate of disc collapse and recurrence is notable. Additionally, when the center diameter of tunnel was limited to 6 mm, the bony defect can be healed without the occurrence of the collapse of the superior endplate, and ATc-PECD may be preferable in the endoscopic treatment of CIVDH.
