Abstract: By using the harmonic response analysis in the finite element analysis method, the seismic dynamic interaction of the three-dimensional urban building group-homogeneous sedimentary basin is studied. The viscoelastic artificial boundary is introduced, which can overcome both the defects of low-frequency drift and high-frequency instability, and the equivalent load in frequency domain is obtained by fast Fourier transform for loading, to explore the influence of the different incident frequencies (0.5–5.0 Hz), different numbers (196, 400, 676), and spacing (55 m, 62.5 m, 70 m) of building groups on the ground motion of homogeneous sedimentary basin under the incidence of SV wave. Numerical results illustrate that at low frequency, the displacement cloud image of the homogeneous sedimentary basin model shows an obvious phenomenon of “central focusing.” With the increase of frequency, the displacement cloud image gradually changes from “central focusing” to “multipoint focusing.” Meanwhile, the displacement peak gradually moves from the surface to the center of the basin. At a certain incident frequency, the existence of dense building groups will change the spatial distribution of displacement amplitude in the basin. Under the action of high-frequency incident waves, denser building groups with more buildings and smaller building spacing have a more pronounced weakening effect on the seismic response of homogeneous sedimentary basins. The displacement response of the center of the basin is generally large. When planning important buildings, the center area should be avoided as much as possible. For existing buildings, structural reinforcement is needed. It is of great significance for the planning and layout of buildings in the soft sedimentary basin and the reasonable spacing of buildings to reduce the risk of urban earthquake disaster.

Abstract: Objective. The correlation between meridians and organs (Zang-fu) is an important aspect of meridian theory. The objective of this paper is to investigate the pathological changes in the organs resulting from blocking low hydraulic resistance channel (LHRC) along the stomach meridian by injecting gel in pigs so as to offer some insight into the correlation between meridians and internal organs. Methods. Four white piglets and twelve black minipigs were divided into four batches and were observed in different periods. Each batch included two pairs of pigs and each pair matched two pigs with similar conditions among which gel was injected into 6~8 low hydraulic resistance points along the the stomach meridian in the experimental pig and the same amount of saline was injected into the same points in the control pig. The state of stomach and intestine was observed 6~10 weeks after the blocking model was developed. Results. The results showed that there were bloated stomach or/and intestine in all the experimental pigs while there were normal states in seven control pigs except one dead during the experiment. Conclusion. The findings confirmed that the blockage of LHRC along the stomach meridian can influence the state of stomach and intestine, leading to a distension on stomach or/and intestine.

Abstract: Strengthening with external prestressing is a kind of reinforcement method which imposes prestress on concrete by setting prestressed steel bar outside concrete, a new strengthening with external prestressing technology can be put forward by using industrial reclaimed steel wire instead of prestressing steel bar. High-quality steel wire is extracted from waste tire after stripping and derusting, and this kind of industrial reclaimed steel wire with high tensile strength and good toughness is applied to building reinforcement by externally prestressing method; it can provide a new research direction for the country’s green, low-carbon, and high-quality development. In this paper, the new strengthening with external prestressing technology is used to study the bending static load test of test beams under different working conditions. The influence of reinforcement material and rotational degree on the bending performance of RC beam is discussed. The results show that the ultimate bearing capacity of the flexural members with industrial recycled steel wire is more effective under the new external prestressed reinforcement method. Under the same reinforcement method, when the reinforcement materials are the same, the increase of prestress can effectively improve the bearing capacity of flexural members in the reinforced beams with prestress of 30%, 40%, and 50%, respectively. In order to verify the reinforcement effect of industrial recycled steel wire on the bending performance of RC beam from multiple perspectives, the numerical simulation was carried out on the concrete specimens reinforced with different degrees of woven reinforced wire, and the simulation results were in good agreement with the experimental results. This study provides a new research direction for the recycling of industrial reclaimed steel wire and the reinforcement of concrete components and has a good promotion, role, and theoretical support for subsequent research.

Abstract: The microwave devices are usually optimized by combining the precise model with global optimization algorithm. However, this method is time-consuming. In order to optimize the microwave devices rapidly, the knowledge-based neural network (KBNN) is used in this paper. Usually, the a priori knowledge of KBNN is obtained by the empirical formulas. Unfortunately, it is difficult to derive the corresponding formulas for the most electromagnetic problems, especially for complex electromagnetic problems; the formula derivation is almost impossible. We use precise mesh model of EM analysis as teaching signal and coarse mesh model as a priori knowledge to train the neural network (NN) by particle swarm optimization (PSO). The NN constructed by this method is simpler than traditional NN in structure which can replace precise model in optimization and reduce the computing time. The results of electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) structures optimally designed by this kind of KBNN achieve increase in the bandwidth and attenuation of the stopband and small passband ripple level which shows the advantages of the proposed KBNN method.

Abstract: In this work, a new configuration of strut-based scramjet is proposed, and a series of simulations are conducted to investigate its possibility of practical application. The simulation results are verified via the classical DLR ramjet and an experiment conducted on the connected pipe facility. The inlet area ( A in ) and air intake height ( H ) of the combustor are varied independently to investigate their performance. The results indicate that the flow field and shock wave structure of such engine reveal similar characteristics as the classical DLR engine, and the variation in engine geometry can significantly affect its combustion characteristics. Moreover, the combustion efficiency could be enhanced by 2% as the A in varied from 900π mm2 to 1100π mm2; increasing the air intake path ( H ) to 12 mm can increase the combustion efficiency by 25%. In general, the present work proposes a new geometry of the scramjet combustor; this combustor has possibility of practical application, but a further and detailed investigation is still needed.

Abstract: Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies in women worldwide. Traditional Chinese medicine has been used as adjunctive or complementary therapy for breast cancer. Diterpenoids from Euphorbia fischeriana Steud. have been demonstrated to possess anti-breast-cancer activity. This research was aimed to systematically explore the diterpenoids from E. fischeriana and study the multiple mechanisms on breast cancer. The structures of diterpenoids were identified by the integrated strategy of UHPLC-Q-TOF-MS and molecular networking. A total of 177 diterpenoids belonging to 13 types were collected. In silico ADME analysis was performed on these compounds. It indicated that 130 of 177 diterpenoids completely adjusted to Lipinski’s rule. The targets of compounds were obtained from PharmMapper. The targets of breast cancer were collected from GeneCards. Then, 197 compounds-related targets and 544 breast cancer-related targets were identified. After the intersection process, 58 overlapping targets between compounds-related targets and breast cancer-related targets were acquired. The STRING database was applied to predict the protein-protein interactions. The GO and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis were performed by using the KOBAS database. It indicated that these predicted pathways were closely related to breast cancer. The treatment effect of E. fischeriana on breast cancer might be performed through signaling pathways, such as IL-17 signaling pathway, MAPK signaling pathway, and PI3K-Akt signaling pathway. The predicted top genes such as EGFR, ESR, MAPK, SRC, CASP3, CDK2, and KDR were involved in cell proliferation, gene transcription, apoptosis, signal transduction, DNA damage and repair, tumor differentiation, metastasis, and cell cycle, which indicated that E. fischeriana might treat breast cancer comprehensively. A compounds-KEGG pathways-related targets network was built by using cytoHubba to analyze the hub compounds and targets. It concluded that E. fischeriana treated breast cancer not only by the main components but also by the microconstituents, which reflected the overall regulatory role of multicomponents treating breast cancer. To estimate the binding affinities, binding sites, and binding postures, molecular docking simulations between 177 diterpenoids and top 19 targets were carried out. The results are basically in line with expectations. In conclusion, these results can serve as references for researchers studying potential targets of diterpenoids from E. fischeriana on breast cancer in the future.

Abstract: Objective. As an extension of optical coherence tomography (OCT), optical coherence tomographic angiography (OCTA) provides information on the blood flow status at the microlevel and is sensitive to changes in the fundus vessels. However, due to the distinct imaging mechanism of OCTA, existing models, which are primarily used for analyzing fundus images, do not work well on OCTA images. Effectively extracting and analyzing the information in OCTA images remains challenging. To this end, a deep learning framework that fuses multilevel information in OCTA images is proposed in this study. The effectiveness of the proposed model was demonstrated in the task of diabetic retinopathy (DR) classification. Method. First, a U-Net-based segmentation model was proposed to label the boundaries of large retinal vessels and the foveal avascular zone (FAZ) in OCTA images. Then, we designed an isolated concatenated block (ICB) structure to extract and fuse information from the original OCTA images and segmentation results at different fusion levels. Results. The experiments were conducted on 301 OCTA images. Of these images, 244 were labeled by ophthalmologists as normal images, and 57 were labeled as DR images. An accuracy of 93.1% and a mean intersection over union (mIOU) of 77.1% were achieved using the proposed large vessel and FAZ segmentation model. In the ablation experiment with 6-fold validation, the proposed deep learning framework that combines the proposed isolated and concatenated convolution process significantly improved the DR diagnosis accuracy. Moreover, inputting the merged images of the original OCTA images and segmentation results further improved the model performance. Finally, a DR diagnosis accuracy of 88.1% ( 95 % CI ± 3.6 % ) and an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.92 were achieved using our proposed classification model, which significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art classification models. As a comparison, an accuracy of 83.7 ( 95 % CI ± 1.5 % ) and AUC of 0.76 were obtained using EfficientNet. Significance. The visualization results show that the FAZ and the vascular region close to the FAZ provide more information for the model than the farther surrounding area. Furthermore, this study demonstrates that a clinically sophisticated designed deep learning model is not only able to effectively assist in the diagnosis but also help to locate new indicators for certain illnesses.

Abstract: Introduction. Emerging data show that chemokine-mediated inflammation is involved in the occurrence and maintenance of pain. Recent evidence suggests that eotaxin levels rise when dysmenorrhea happens. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether eotaxin/CC chemokine receptor 3 (CCR3) axis, a key regulatory pathway for eosinophils (EOS) recruitment, is involved in acupuncture analgesia for dysmenorrhea. Methods. After the cold congealing dysmenorrhea (CCD) rat model prepared, animals received perpendicular needling (PN) and transverse needling (TN) at SP6, respectively, for 20 min. The CCR3 agonist CCL11 was administered 30 min prior to acupuncture. Pain behavior was assessed via a writhing response. The uterine contraction test was detected by an electrophysiological method. Eotaxin, histamine (HIS), and interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels were evaluated by ELISA. The expression of CCR3 and histamine H1 receptor (H1R) was analyzed by RT-qPCR and Western blot. The expression of EOS, mast cells (MCs), eosinophil peroxidase (EPO), and eosinophil cationic protein (ECP) was assessed by hematoxylin-eosin staining (HE), Toluidine Blue staining (TB), and immunohistochemistry, respectively. Results. Acupuncture prominently attenuated the menstrual pain in CCD rats, particularly TN technique. Electrophysiological recording data showed that the increased uterine contractility was ameliorated by acupuncture. In addition, TN decreased the release of eotaxin, HIS, IL-6, and the expression of CCR3 and H1R. HE, TB staining, and immunohistochemistry experiments showed that the increased expression of EOS, MCs, EPO, and ECP in uterine tissues was reversed by TN. Furthermore, we found that the effects of TN against CCD-induced menstrual pain, increased ECP expression, and HIS level were abolished by CCL11. Conclusion. TN alleviated menstrual pain by improving the uterine inflammatory environment via suppressing eotaxin/CCR3 axis to weak EOS-MC activation in CCD rats. The study findings support the acupuncture as a promising approach for dysmenorrhea, meanwhile, indicating the importance of performing appropriate needling technique.

Abstract: Macrophages are widely distributed in various tissues and organs. They not only participate in the regulation of innate and adaptive immune response, but also play an important role in tissue homeostasis. Dysregulation of macrophage function is closely related to the initiation, development and prognosis of multiple diseases, including infection and tumorigenesis. Forkhead box transcription factor O1 (FoxO1) is an important member among the forkhead box transcription factor family. Through directly binding to the promoter regions of downstream target genes, FoxO1 is implicated in cell proliferation, apoptosis, metabolic activities and other biological processes. In this review, we summarized the regulatory role of FoxO1 in macrophage phagocytosis, migration, differentiation and inflammatory activation. We also emphasized that macrophage reciprocally modulated FoxO1 activity via a post-translational modification (PTM) dominant manner.
