Abstract: A cattle-yak, which is a hybrid between a yak ( Bos grunniens ) and cattle ( Bos taurus ), is an important livestock animal, but basic questions regarding its physiology and environmental adaptation remain unanswered. To address this issue, the present study examined the species composition and functional characteristics of rumen microorganisms in the cattle-yak of different ages (2 and 3 years old) by metagenomic analysis. We found that rumen microbial community composition was similar at the two ages. Firmicutes, Fibrobacteres, Euryarchaeota, Bacteroidetes, and Proteobacteria were the predominant phyla, with Firmicutes accounting for the highest percentage of bacteria in 2-year-old (48%) and 3-year-old (46%) animals. Bacterial species involved in lignocellulose degradation were detected in the rumen of adult cattle-yaks including Ruminococcus flavefaciens , Ruminococcus albus , Fibrobacter succinogenes , and Prevotella ruminicola , with F. succinogenes being the most abundant. A total of 145,489 genes were annotated according to the Carbohydrate-active Enzyme database, which identified glycoside hydrolases as the most highly represented enzyme family. Further functional annotation revealed specific microflora and genes in the adult rumen that are potentially related to plateau adaptability. These results could explain the heterosis of the cattle-yak and provide insight into mechanisms of physiologic adaptation in plateau animals.

Abstract: Due to the different development history of different nationalities, there is a big gap between traditional cultures. Especially, as an important embodiment and component of traditional culture, ethnic minority dance has unique characteristics. With the development of machine vision technology, human motion recognition has gradually become a hot research direction, but its application research in the field of dance motion recognition is still in its infancy. In this paper, the characteristics of stage performances of ethnic minority dances in the field of intelligent auxiliary training based on human motion recognition technology are introduced. The human body regions in the frame are obtained by using human posture, and 3D_SIFT and optical flow features are extracted from each region. Then, we use the extracted key frames and DTW (dynamic time warping) algorithm to realize the motion recognition of the motion capture data and carry out simulation experiments. The test results show that the algorithm can identify the minority dance video database, effectively identify the dance movements, and realize the movement correction of dancers.

Abstract: Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is generally safer and less invasive than conventional strategies for head and neck cancer treatment. However, currently available photosensitizers have low selectivity for tumor cells, and the burden and side effects are so great that research is needed to develop safe photosensitizers. In this study, it was confirmed that the Buddleja officinalis (BO) extract, used in the treatment of inflammation and vascular diseases, shows fluorescence when activated by LED light, and, based on this, we aimed to develop a new photosensitive agent suitable for PDT. MTT, Diff-Quick® staining, and DCF-DA were performed to measure the effects of treating head and neck cancer cells with BO extract and 625 nm LED light (BO-PDT). Cell cycle, TUNEL, and western blot assays, as well as acridine orange staining, were performed to explore the mechanism of BO-PDT-induced cell death. We found that when the BO extract was irradiated with 625 nm LED light, it showed sufficient fluorescence and stronger intracellular toxicity and ROS effect than the currently commercially available hematoporphyrin. BO-PDT resulted in a decrease of mTOR activity that was correlated with an increase in the levels of ATG5, beclin-1, and LC3-II, which interfere with the formation of autophagosomes. In addition, BO-PDT induced the activation of PARP and led to an increase in the expression of proapoptotic protein Bax and a decrease in the expression of the antiapoptotic protein Bcl-2. Moreover, BO-PDT has been shown to induce the autophagy pathway 4 h after treatment, while apoptosis was induced 16 h after treatment. Finally, we confirmed that BO-PDT caused cell death of head and neck cancer cells via the intrinsic pathway. Therefore, we suggest that BO extract can be used as a new photosensitizer in PDT of head and neck cancer.

Abstract: Due to the complex posture changes in dance movements, accurate detection and tracking of human targets are carried out in order to improve the guidance ability of dancers in ethnic areas. A multifeature fusion-based tracking algorithm for dancers in ethnic areas is proposed. The edge contour model of video images of dancers in ethnic areas is detected, and the video tracking scanning imaging model of dancers in ethnic areas is constructed. The video images of dancers in ethnic areas are enhanced based on the initial contour distribution, and a visual perception model of dancers tracking images in ethnic areas is established. To improve the algorithm’s estimation of complex poses and finally complete the dance movement recognition, a feature pyramid network is used to extract the features of dance movements, and then, a multifeature fusion module is used to fuse multiple features. The tracking algorithm proposed in this paper has higher robustness than other algorithms and effectively reduces the error samples generated during the tracking process, thus improving the accuracy of long-term tracking.
