Abstract: Background. There is a poor prognosis for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), one of the most common types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Through gene expression profiles, this study intends to reveal potential subtypes among patients with DLBCL by evaluating their prognostic impact on immune cells. Methods. Immune subtypes were developed based on CD8+ T cells and natural killer cells calculated from gene expression profiles. The comparison of prognoses and enriched pathways was made between immune subtypes. Following this validation step, samples from the independent data set were analyzed to determine the correlation between immune subtype and prognosis and immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) response. To provide a model to predict the DLBCL immune subtypes, machine learning methods were used. The virtual screening and molecular docking were adopted to identify small molecules to target the immune subtype biomarkers. Results. A training data set containing 432 DLBCL samples from five data sets and a testing dataset containing 420 DLBCL samples from GSE10846 were used to develop and validate immune subtypes. There were two novel immune subtypes identified in this study: an inflamed subtype (IS) and a noninflamed subtype (NIS). When compared with NIS, IS was associated with higher levels of immune cells and a better prognosis for immunotherapy. Based on the random forest algorithm, a robust machine learning model has been established by 12 hub genes, and the area under the curve (AUC) value is 0.948. Three small molecules were selected to target NIS biomarkers, including VGF, RAD54L, and FKBP8. Conclusion. This study assessed immune cells as prognostic factors in DLBCL, constructed an immune subtype that could be used to identify patients who would benefit from ICB, and constructed a model to predict the immune subtype.

Abstract: An environment-friendly biomaterial bacterial cellulose (BC) is introduced to substitute general organic polymers to assist the preparation of ZnO/CdS/BC photocatalyst hybrid nanofiber through coprecipitation method under the low-temperature condition. The XRD, XPS, and SEM results show that high load of ZnO/CdS/BC ternary hybrid fiber can be produced. TGA curves scan shows that ZnO/CdS/BC hybrid fiber has better thermal properties than bacterial cellulose. The UV-Vis spectra of the ZnO/CdS/BC hybrid nanofiber (0, 10, 20, and 50 wt%, resp.) show that photocatalytic activities of ZnO/CdS/BC are influenced by the added amount of CdS. The degradation curve of methyl shows that ZnO/CdS/BC nanohybrid fibers exhibit excellent photocatalytic efficiency.

Abstract: The traditional remote sensing image segmentation method uses the same set of parameters for the entire image. However, due to objects’ scale-dependent nature, the optimal segmentation parameters for an overall image may not be suitable for all objects. According to the idea of spatial dependence, the same kind of objects, which have the similar spatial scale, often gather in the same scene and form a scene. Based on this scenario, this paper proposes a stratified object-oriented image analysis method based on remote sensing image scene division. This method firstly uses middle semantic which can reflect an image’s visual complexity to classify the remote sensing image into different scenes, and then within each scene, an improved grid search algorithm is employed to optimize the segmentation result of each scene, so that the optimal scale can be utmostly adopted for each scene. Because the complexity of data is effectively reduced by stratified processing, local scale optimization ensures the overall classification accuracy of the whole image, which is practically meaningful for remote sensing geo-application.

Abstract: Image texture is an important visual cue in image processing and analysis. Texture feature expression is an important task of geo-objects expression by using a high spatial resolution remote sensing image. Texture features based on gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) are widely used in image spatial analysis where the spatial scale is especially of great significance. Based on the Fourier frequency-spectral analysis, this paper proposes an optimal scale selection method for GLCM. Different subset textures are firstly upscaled by GLCM with different window sizes. Then the multiscale texture feature images are converted into the frequency domain by Fourier transform. Consequently, the radial distribution and angular distribution curves changing with different window sizes from spectrum energy can be achieved, by which the texture window size can be selected. In order to verify the validity of this proposed texture scale selection method, this paper uses high-resolution fusion images to classify land cover based on multiscale texture expression. The results show that the proposed method combining frequency-spectral analysis-based texture scale selection can guarantee the quality and accuracy of the classification, which further proves the effectiveness of optimal texture window size selection method bases on frequency spectrum analysis. Other than scale selection in spatial domain, this paper casts a novel idea for texture scale selection in the frequency domain, which is meant for scale processing of remote sensing image.

Abstract: Objectives . This study aimed to explore the expression of GLP-1 receptor in hypothalamus and gastrointestinal tissues after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) surgery in diabetic rats. Methods . Male 12-week-old Wistar rats (control) and Goto-Kakizaki rats (diabetic) were randomly divided into two groups, respectively: control sham surgery group (C), control RYGB group (C + R), diabetic sham surgery group (D), and diabetic RYGB group (D + R). Body weight and blood glucose were monitored before and after surgery every week. Eight weeks after surgery, all rats were sacrificed and the serum fasting GLP-1 concentrations were measured by ELISA. GLP-1R and DPP-4 expression in hypothalamus and ileum were measured by RT-PCR. Results . The body weight and fasting/random blood glucose in the D + R group decreased significantly compared with the D group ( P 〈 0.05 ). Serum GLP-1 levels in diabetic rats treated with RYGB were higher than the corresponding sham surgery rats. The expression of GLP-1R of hypothalamus in RYGB-treated diabetic rats was significantly higher than those of the sham surgery diabetic rats and both control group rats ( P 〈 0.05 ). We found a negative correlation between hypothalamus GLP-1R mRNA and blood glucose level. No significant difference was seen in ileum GLP-1R and DPP-4 expression among all groups. Conclusions . RYGB efficiently promoted serum GLP-1 levels and the expression of GLP-1 receptor in the hypothalamus in diabetic rats. These data suggest that the hypothalamus GLP-1R may play an important role in the GLP-1 system for improving glucose homeostasis after reconstruction of the gastrointestinal tract.
